Tom Mason: [Voice-over] Despite the horror, the loss, the death, the war with the Espheni might have ultimately made us better human beings. We can actually christen a new melting pot; a world wide one. Our first goal: to welcome those, especially those whose methods we don't always understand. But our new found openness, our egalitarianism, should never come at the expense of our vigilance. For as the man said; 'those who fail to learn from history, are doomed to repeat it'. And we will forever more, be keeping our eyes on the skies. Now begins the work of rebuilding our world. And in that work we have both the responsibility and an opportunity to apply those lessons, and if we do, we have a chance to maybe build it just a little bit better than we did before.
Tom Mason: [On-screen speech] Once upon a time, there was a place called America.
[Audience cheers]
Tom Mason: But now, going forward, borders don't mean what they used to... because before we were countries, we were human beings. And despite the horror, the loss and the death, the war with the Espheni might very well have made us better human beings... because we've discovered, we are not alone.
I really never though of myself watching a 5 seasons of a show on TNT .. but they did well .. The only thing in the finally is it was really fast, congested and so crowded with events "core events" and it were all in 40 minutes ..
i mean instead of killing a "main character" in the last episode or "bringing it back" and winning the war and killing the queen and not really solving the issue Pope .. all in one .. they could've easily spread the surprises on the episodes .. but they preferred to present a mediocre level of 9 episodes on the final season and solution to all of the series problems in one last episode ..
but again the series had a good run on the network .. and i would easily say that it was kinda success for TNT .. and farewell to a Relatively great show.
