This weeks 20 Questions on Deadline guest is Dan Stevens. Of course we all remember his first major foray onto our screens as Matthew Crawley in Downton Abbey, and the untimely death of his character that had fans raging for his return.
But Hollywood called, and since then, Stevens has accrued a long list of credits, including Beauty and the Beast, I’m Your Man, Love, Death and Robots, Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities and Welcome to Chippendales. Recently he voiced a character in the Oscar-winning The Boy and the Heron, and next up, his new film Godzilla x Kong: the New Empire will be in theaters March 29th.
In this episode, Stevens digs into his reasons for needing a Taylor Swift collab, why Elvis is top of his list of dream roles, and how shooting Godzilla x Kong in Australia came with plenty of real-live snakes and killer trees.

The two-time Oscar winner makes a convincing play for a third statuette in the powerful story of Nicholas Winton who saved Jewish children before the war began
It seems strange that an actor of Anthony Hopkins’ prestige and acclaim would need a comeback so late in his career but for a few years, the Oscar-winner was stuck in a cycle of thankless sequel paycheques and one-word thrillers where the “and” credit was starting to lose its lustre (Collide! Solace! Misconduct! Blackway!). Within the space of a year he was then Oscar nominated for The Two Popes and won for The Father (his first Academy attention since 1998) and while, it didn’t exactly curb his predilection for B-movies completely, it did edge him back toward substance, with a subtle yet scene-devouring turn in James Gray’s Armageddon Time and now, another knockout performance in second world war drama One Life.

Josh Duhamel will star opposite Renee Zellweger in the NBC limited series “The Thing About Pam.”
The series is based on the 2011 murder of Betsy Faria that resulted in her husband Russ’s conviction, although he insisted he didn’t kill her. His conviction was later overturned. This brutal crime set off a chain of events that would expose a diabolical scheme deeply involving Pam Hupp (Zellweger). Duhamel will play Joel Schwartz, Russ Faria’s defense attorney.
Duhamel most recently starred in the Netflix original series “Jupiter’s Legacy” based on the comic series of the same name. His other TV roles include “Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G.,” “11.22.63,” “Las Vegas,” and “All My Children.” He will next be seen opposite Jennifer Lopez in the film “Shotgun Wedding.” He has previously starred in films like the “Transformers” franchise, “When in Rome,” “Lost in the Sun,” “Bravetown,” and “Misconduct.

ErosSTX’s acquisition Songbird will be skipping theaters in exchange for a Premium VOD release starting Friday, December 11.
STX picked up the Kj Apa and Sofia Carson pandemic thriller produced by Invisible Narratives back in August. The movie was one of the first to actually shoot in Los Angeles during the pandemic under newly created Covid-19 safety guidelines.
Songbird will now be available for $19.99 for a 48-hour rental on all transactional platforms. Following Songbird‘s nesting on PVOD, it will premiere on a major streaming service in 2021.
From producer Michael Bay and director Adam Mason, Songbird follows Riverdale‘s Apa who stars as Nico, a bicycle messenger in a near post-apocalyptic future where Covid-19 has mutated to Covid-23. He’s smitten with his girlfriend Sara (Carson), who he hasn’t been able to see during the pandemic. Complicating life greatly is that the government is snatching up people who have...

STXfilms has acquired the North American and UK rights to Invisible Narratives’ pandemic thriller Songbird starring Kj Apa and Sofia Carson. While most major studios movies have been unable to get rolling here in California and Los Angeles during the lockdown, Songbird, produced by Michael Bay, Adam Goodman and Andrew Sugerman Invisible Narratives, and Catchlight Films, was one of the few to do so. In fact, the movie recently wrapped production.
“We are thrilled to acquire this timely and urgent movie,” said Adam Fogelson, chairman of STXfilms Motion Picture Group. “This year has irrevocably changed the way people interact with each other and their surroundings, and the reverberations will be profound; with all of 2020 underlying every frame of the movie, Songbird will be relevant, moving, and sentimental as a love story, while also scary as hell. We have been longtime fans and friends of many of the creative team behind Songbird.

Michael Bay will produce what may be the first major film shot in Los Angeles during the coronavirus pandemic lockdown. Deadline reported Tuesday that “Songbird,” directed by Adam Mason, will begin production within five weeks.
While it’s unclear exactly how Mason and his team will pull it off, the production could offer a blueprint for completing films when traditional means of production are off limits.
Mason (Hulu/Blumhouse’s “Into the Dark”) co-wrote a script with Simon Boyes (“Misconduct”) that takes place two years in the future, when the pandemic has not gone away and lockdowns have been reinstated as the coronavirus continues to mutate. Casting is underway.
While Bay is known for megabudget blockbusters, “Songbird” is said to be in the vein of tight, low-budget thrillers like Blumhouse’s “Paranormal Activity,” and unites a team of veterans in the genre. Along with Bay, the producers are former Paramount...

It takes real resolve to stand up for your beliefs, but it takes courage not to quit after the pressure mounts, especially when life all but quits on you. That’s what happened with left-handed pitcher Bill “Spaceman” Lee, an outspoken, controversial figure who played for the Boston Red Sox and later the Montreal Expos. The new biographical film “Spaceman” follows the true story of Lee (played by Josh Duhamel) after he was let go by the Expos after clashing with management and protesting the release of a teammate. After spiraling downward trying to catch on with another pro team, Lee finds a lifeline in an undermanned local Senior League that desperately wants him to join. Lee casts aside his ego and finds true freedom by realizing he doesn’t need to be a professional to play baseball. Watch an exclusive clip from the film below.

There are good movies and great movies. There are bad movies and terrible movies. Occasionally, there are movies that are so bad that they’re still entertaining. Then, there’s Misconduct. This movie, which co-stars Al Pacino and Anthony Hopkins is, by all accounts, absolutely terrible. It’s so bad that when it opened in Britain this past weekend almost nobody saw it. Like almost literally nobody. The movie only grossed $141 in three days. No, I didn’t leave out any zeroes. It’s hard to imagine how something like that can even happen. You’d think that any movie that has both Al Pacino and Anthony Hopkins in it would draw a few dozen people per theater at least. Not so much. In the film’s defense, according to Variety, it only opened in five theaters in the country, but that still ...

To have a reprehensible, flawed protagonist can often be the making of a fine piece of cinema – but in the case of Josh Duhamel’s Ben Cahill, the lead in Misconduct, he’s an abhorrent prat you simply fail to root for. In films that abide by the ‘everything was supposed to be so easy’ notion, […]

Entertainment Tonight caught up with actor Mark Ruffalo at the press junket for Liongate’s “Now You See Me 2.” Ruffalo gave an update on Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Ragnarok” which he will reprise his role as Dr. Bruce Banner/The Hulk alongside his ‘Avengers’ co-star Chris Hemsworth.
"It's an intergalactic buddy road movie with Banner and Thor," said the Oscar-nominated actor. "I think it will be smashing. You'll see a lot more Hulk and I think it'll--", he was then asked by his co-star Woody Harrelson if Hulk will be even "Hulk-ier" this time around. "The Hulk gets Hulk-ier. The Hulk Hulks out. Hulk-ier and bigger." On the casting of Academy Award-winner Cate Blanchett, Ruffalo had nothing but praise for the actress saying, "She plays the worst of the worst. So evil," Ruffalo teased. "She is going to kill us. It's such a great part she gets to play."

Lee Byung-Hun ended 2015 on a high note with the hit political thriller Inside Men, which attracted over nine million viewers to theaters. He did a fantastic job at pulling off the character of political henchman Ahn Sang-Goo in the film.
(Still: Ahn croons Lee Eun-Ha’s ‘Spring Rain’ as he advances against Moon to hammer his fingers to shreds.)
On the heels of the massive success of Inside Men, Lee recently starred in the Us thriller Misconduct, with Al Pacino, Anthony Hopkins and Josh Duhamel.
Lee has extended his influence beyond Asia to Hollywood, and his films continue to make waves internationally.
Here are his next films to look forward to.
The Magnificent Seven
Director Antoine Fuqua brings his modern vision to a classic story in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures’ and Columbia Pictures’ The Magnificent Seven, in which Lee features as Billy Rocks, who is probably the new version of one of the seven.

Hollywood’s dump period thankfully begins to come to an end as February fed audiences another four weeks of misguided projects nobody really asked for… along with Valentine’s fare, counter-Valentine’s efforts, and a few more promising ventures from acclaimed directors.
As far as auteur filmmakers, festival horror and the indie circuit goes, it was a pretty decent February, even if March naturally has a far more promising slate, what with the likes of Zootopia, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Midnight Special and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice all unleashing upon audiences.
From the biggest tentpole releases to the most unassuming VOD drops you’re probably just hearing about for the first time, here are February 2016’s movies ranked from worst to best…

Witness two people who need a cold shower, stat. Josh Duhamel and Malin Akerman might be portraying two people (sort of) innocently having drinks together, but their body language says so much more. Way more. In this exclusive clip from Misconduct, Duhamel's character, Ben, opens up to Akerman's character, Emily, about the state of his marriage - and it isn't good. "It's complicated," he tells her as the pair exchange coy glances. " 'I do, you do' seems to be self-explanatory to me," she replies. She then confesses that she's in a relationship of her own, although he wants to get serious and she doesn't.

There are so many upcoming movies to keep track of that every so often there are a few that manage to slip me by, and the upcoming Misconduct is one of those movies. Previously known as Beyond Deceit, the Anthony Hopkins and Al Pacino flick takes off when an ambitious young lawyer (Josh Duhamel) takes on a big case against the powerful and ruthless executive of a large pharmaceutical company and finds... Oscar-winning titans of acting Sir Anthony Hopkins and Al Pacino have appeared in some of the greatest American films ever — The Godfather, Serpico, The Silence of the Lambs — as well as myriad productions of Shakespeare's iconic plays, both on stages and in parks. But, amazingly, they never appeared onscreen together until Misconduct (né Beyond Deceit), the directing debut of The Grudge producer Shintaro Shimosawa, which will probably not join those lofty ranks. The film stars Josh Duhamel (who, unlike his co-stars, has yet to win an Oscar) as an ambitious young lawyer who, as the trailer menacingly intones, travels down that proverbial rabbit hole into a world of deceit and misconduct involving a large pharmaceutical company. Pacino and Hopkins are the best scene-chewers of the last 30 years (see: Heat, Dracula), and they seem to be reveling in the pulp of this legal thriller. Will Duhamel's idealistic lawyer take down Hopkins's...

"You made an enemy you don't want." Lionsgate Premiere has debuted a trailer for the suspense thriller Misconduct, starring Josh Duhamel as a young lawyer who gets caught in a sticky situation. This trailer sets up the story where early on he meets a couple of other people including Al Pacino and Anthony Hopkins as other lawyers. He then meets one Malin Akerman, who seduces him, and that sets off a crazy chain of events. The cast also features Julia Stiles, Alice Eve, Chris Marquette and Byung-hun Lee. I can't say this looks good, but they did grab me with the mystery of what the heck is happening. But that's it. Here's the first official trailer for Shintaro Shimosawa's Misconduct, found on YouTube: When an ambitious young lawyer (Josh Duhamel) takes on a big case against a powerful and ruthless executive of a large pharmaceutical company, he soon finds...

With decades of stellar work on their resume, it’s somewhat surprising that Al Pacino and Anthony Hopkins never had a chance to collaborate, until now. Misconduct, previously titled Beyond Deceit, finds the pair putting pressure on Josh Duhamel‘s lawyer character as he fights a corrupt pharmaceutical system. The directorial debut of Shintaro Shimosawa, we now have the first trailer ahead of a February release.
“Working with two of this generation’s greatest actors was everything you could imagine – terrifying, humbling, mentoring but ultimately the most gratifying experience of my life,” Shimosawa tell USA Today. “Anthony always felt a scary feeling about him (even if) this man never spoke aggressively or threateningly. He knew this man was deadly,” says Shimosawa. “Anthony was chilling on camera, but between takes he couldn’t be a friendlier guy.”
Check out the trailer below for the film also starring Malin Akerman, Julia Stiles,...
