The story of '11' was written in 2003 and was adapted to a 57 page screenplay in 2007. Due to the fact that in the script there was a lot of descriptions the actual length of the film end up being 87 minutes long.
The base of the film storyline relies heavily on numerology, code breaking and narrative fractals that are directed to effect the subconscious mind of the viewer. Key point of the plot is inspired by work of psychologist Sigmund Freud.
Actor/director Janusz Madej for 12 years was a professional ballet dancer, dancing in two world renown companies. For 2 years in Northern Ballet in Leeds, UK and 10 years at the Dutch National Ballet. He retired in 2008 to pursue the career in acting, studying under Ivana Chubbuck in the Ivana Chubbuck Studio and and a filmmaker study in The Los Angeles Filmschool in Hollywood, California.
The film is dedicated to director Janusz Madej's mother who passed away on the 11th of October, 2009 in Warsaw Poland, before the film was completed.

One scene of the interrogation in Iraq and the childhood flashback of the main character was shot on location in Hollywood, California.
