What Shall We Do With The Drunken Sailor
An excellent film that stands out today with its traditionalism and values that we are all slowly forgetting.
A film that lifts the mood and reminds us of some other, slowly forgotten times and restores our faith in people.
A whole bunch of fun and interesting characters, something rarely seen in today's movies. The film is uplifting, and celebrates family and traditional values.
The cast is good, and James Purefoy is particularly interesting in the role of Jim, a hard and stubborn fisherman who values friendship more than fame and money.
It is interesting to see the development of a character from a cynical London music producer to a man who begins to realize that the most important things in life are not money and success, but family and friends. Great old-fashioned fun with a light casual humor that fits the story perfectly.
The film is well directed, the cinematography is excellent. Port Isaac really seems like a wonderful place.
The music is beautiful, and as one of the characters said, it takes us back to some ancient times and transports us to the high seas. Emotions and drama, interesting and fun characters, great acting and wonderful music.
