No matter how many devastating deaths and sad exits Chicago Fire has had in its 12 seasons, the most impactful will forever be Lauren German's Leslie Shay.
Though there was much discussion and speculation about whether it was a wise decision to kill off her character so early in the show, the Chicago Fire brass was going for an emotional twist. And that's what Shay's death will always be remembered for.
Luckily for Lauren German, her career didn't end up buried like her character's. In fact, it only skyrocketed higher than ever when she left Dick Wolf's procedural and began looking for other opportunities.
Lauren German Filmography
Now best known as Detective Chloe Decker from Fox's Lucifer, where she starred opposite Tom Ellis, who portrayed the titular character, the actress is hardly known for her role on Chicago Fire. However, she has more titles to be proud of in her career.

Jo Ann Ross, the first woman to run a broadcast TV network’s ad-sales efforts and one of the last senior ad-sales executives in the TV industry to hold direct relationships with advertisers when primetime broadcast programs were seen as the primary venue for Madison Avenue’s dollars, is leaving the industry, stepping down from her role as chairman of Paramount Global’s ad sales division at the end of April.
Ross had already stepped back from day to day duties, ceding that role to John Halley, who was named president of ad sales for the company in 2022. But her relationships with key sponsors were seen as valuable, as were the ties many of her senior executives had with media agencies and marketing executives. She has stayed on at Paramount in a key advisory role.

Third in a series on broadcast network series renewals. CBS will have some painful cancellation decisions to make this spring. With three new drama series, NCIS: Origins, Matlock and Watson, on tap for next season, S.W.A.T. surprisingly uncanceled and the Australian NCIS: Sydney, originally only intended as a temporary replacement during the strike, also renewed for 2024-25, the network will have to do some slate purging to make room for the additions.
That will likely impact more than one of the remaining CBS drama series whose fate has not been determined, The Equalizer, NCIS: Hawai’i, Elsbeth, So Help Me Todd and CSI: Vegas, a group that includes the network’s current dramas with a female lead. It features series that would not be canceled under normal circumstances. CBS’ schedule this season has been performing well, led by new breakout hit Tracker, and all five dramas in...

Alan Ritchson is a force of nature in Prime Video's "Reacher," where he delivers a compelling, book-accurate performance of the titular drifter with a penchant for solving crimes. Ritchson balances Reacher's brute strength with the perfect amount of vulnerability, painting him as a man fiercely dedicated to the cause, willing to evolve as a person when the situation demands so. While Reacher is perhaps one of his best roles so far, Ritchson's career is marked with performances that need to be highlighted, given how often they tend to be overlooked.
Before Ritchson started playing buff dudes who could beat up anyone in the room, he embodied a diverse range of characters on both the big and small screens. Ritchson started his career with a recurring guest role in the DC Comics series "Smallville," where he played Arthur Curry/Aquaman — a role he reprised when he voiced the character in the animated film,...

Netflix has a lot of content on its virtual shelves, but it’s missing something so huge that it’s almost shocking.

Netflix announced today that Carlton Cuse and Zoe Robyn will team up for the new show, which already has its first star attached.

Justina Machado is the first person to join the cast as a series regular.
This isn’t Netflix’s first foray into the procedural space, although their procedurals tend to have season-long arcs.

Grey’s Anatomy has been among Netflix’s top draws for a decade. Now the streamer is venturing into the medical procedural genre that has been a broadcast staple with its first original, Pulse. The series comes from first-time creator Zoe Robyn (The Equalizer) who serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside veteran Carlton Cuse. Justina Machado (The Horror Of Dolores Roach) is the first series regular cast in the show, whose first two episodes will be directed and executive produced by Kate Dennis.
Like Grey’s, Pulse will be mixing medical cases and office romances. In it, while the staff of Miami’s busiest Level 1 Trauma Center navigate medical emergencies, young ER doc Dani Simms is unexpectedly promoted to Chief Resident amidst the fallout of her own provocative romantic relationship.

Grey’s Anatomy is traditionally one of Netflix’s most-watched acquired programs, so it’s only natural that the streaming giant enters the medical procedural space on its own.
Netflix has handed out a series order to Pulse, what it says is its first procedural medical drama series. The series, which is created by Zoe Robyn (The Equalizer), is set at Miami’s busiest Level 1 Trauma Center as they navigate medical emergencies and revolves around Dani Simms, a young ER doctor who is unexpectedly promoted to chief resident amid the fallout of her own provocative romantic relationship. Justina Machado returns to Netflix after starring in its One Day at a Time update and stars as Natalie Cruz, a doctor who serves as chair of surgery and emergency medicine.
Robyn and Carlton Cuse (Lost, Jack Ryan, Netflix’s own Locke and Key) will serve as co-showrunners. Both will exec produce the series.

Alan Ritchson is now best known for ‘Fast X’ and ‘Reacher,’ a popular show based on Lee Child’s book series. He’s steadily rising as a major action star. But before landing big roles, Ritchson was just trying to break into Hollywood. He auditioned for the role of Marvel’s God of Thunder in the 2011 standalone movie ‘Thor.’ However, Ritchson admitted in his interview with Men’s Health that he didn’t take the role too seriously.
I didn’t take it seriously.I was like, They’ll throw me the part if I look like the guy; nobody really cares about acting.
This turned out to be wrong, as his audition for the role didn’t impress, and it eventually went to Hemsworth, who became iconic as the God of Thunder. It seems Ritchson was affected by this failed audition.
Before MCU’s Thor, Ritchson had already landed superhero roles.

Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender has massive shoes to fill with its live-action adaptation of the beloved animated series, and the same is true for the actors tasked with bringing the show’s characters to life. Granted, the bar is likely close to the floor for live-action adaptations after M. As noted in the first of these two final episodes, "aloha" is a Hawaiian word meaning hello and goodbye.
So what feeling did the aloha from Magnum P.I. Season 5 Episode 19 and Magnum P.I. Season 5 Episode 20 give off?
Sadly, it was the latter, as Magnum and company said goodbye to their loyal viewers after five seasons.
And yet viewers' hope for another revival still floated in the Honolulu air.
Magnum P.I., debuting in 2018, was the last of Peter M. Lenkov's trilogy of reboot series, following the powerful Hawaii Five-0 in 2010 (which aired for a decade) and the less successful McGyver in 2016 (which ran for five seasons).
Magnum faced a stricter path right from the start. I mean, Magnum without the iconic mustache? What were they thinking?
But now, five seasons later, it's impossible to conceive of a bushy 'stache covering up any of Jay Hernandez's handsome face.

Francis Ford Coppola's bleak Vietnam War picture "Apocalypse Now" is not only one of the best films of 1979, but is handily one of the finest, most important films of its decade. Using Joseph Conrad's 1899 novella "Heart of Darkness" as a template, Copolla transposed the book's action from the late 1800s Congo to the jungles of Cambodia, and, in so doing, exposed the madness and horror of the Vietnam War in harrowing, soul-hollowing terms. As Captain Willars (Martin Sheen) treks deeper and deeper into the chaos of the natural world -- drifting ever closer to the insane, cult-founding rogue Colonel Kurtz (Marlon Brando) -- reality begins to dissipate. Eventually, madness and violence are all that remain, and war is reduced to its base function: brazen, meaningless destruction and cruelty. "Apocalypse Now" is a great, great film.
Curiously, a lot of war enthusiasts love "Apocalypse Now," seemingly ignoring the film's...

Jack Axelrod, the actor who played the role of Victor Jerome on General Hospital, has died. He was 93.
Multiple reports indicate that Axelrod died on Nov. 28 of natural causes in Los Angeles.
Axelrod was featured on the ABC soap for 40 episodes between 1987 and 1989. He had previously made guest appearances in Kojak (1977), Hill Street Blues (1984), Dallas (1983), The Judge (1986), Dynasty (1987), Outlaws (1987) and Night Court (1989).

Are Thomas and Juliet better together or apart?
That relationship quandary was at the heart of Magnum P.I. Season 5 Episode 17, and it made for a couple of entertaining cases, one comedic, one dramatic.
Higgins had no one but herself to blame for what was to transpire.
On yet another day beginning at La Mariana, Rick and T.C. were fawning like schoolgirls over their rekindled romances with Suzy and Mahina, respectively.
This set Juliet to pondering: Did she and Thomas spend too much time together?
This is a question with which couples who work and live together must navigate, so it's relevant to many viewers.
Magnum correctly saw Higgins' query as a trap. Fortunately, circumstances quickly gave him an out, as the work partners had two cases with which to deal.
Juliet should have been careful what she wished for, as she ended up with Jin.

On yet another day beginning at La Mariana, Rick and T.C. were fawning like schoolgirls over their rekindled romances with Suzy and Mahina, respectively.

This is a question with which couples who work and live together must navigate, so it's relevant to many viewers.

Juliet should have been careful what she wished for, as she ended up with Jin.
For once, Jin...

Linda Rene once proved instrumental in weaving blue-chip advertisers like Anheuser-Busch and General Motors into a fledgling CBS reality competition called “Survivor.” Two decades later, she is planning to get off the island.
Rene, an advertising-sales veteran who has worked at CBS for more than four decades, helped expand an industry practice known as product placement and was pivotal in crafting new deals that not only had advertisers providing vehicles and beverages as set dressing, but weaving their products into a show in ways that made them as prominent as some of the cast members. Marketers were able to cut deals with CBS that guaranteed them a notable presence in programs such as “The Amazing Race” or “NCIS,” while agreeing to buy up traditional commercials in the series that bolstered their in-show appearances.

From “Cheers” to “Frasier,” Kelsey Grammer’s Frasier Crane was a mainstay of comedy TV for 20 years, from the ’80s to the early-aughts. Now, after an equal amount of time off the air, Grammer is back in the role for Paramount+’s “Frasier.”
The streaming series is a revival-meets-reboot that once again spins off Grammer’s character with a new cast of colorful characters. Some original “Frasier” stars will return to guest star. However, David Hyde Pierce won’t return as Niles and John Mahoney, who played their father Martin, passed away in 2018.
That means Frasier – along with “Frasier” fans – will be surrounded by new faces. With that in mind, here’s a handy guide to the new “Frasier” cast and characters, including where you might have the actors before.

When it comes to investigations, Harry Bosch is definitely old school. So, it’s a good thing he has a tech-savvy right-hand man to help him hunt down bad guys in Amazon Freevee’s Bosch: Legacy. The Bosch spinoff – which returned for its second season in October 2023 – brings back a handful of characters from the original series, including Harry (Titus Welliver), lawyer Honey Changler (Mimi Rogers), and Harry’s daughter Maddie (Madison Lintz). It also brings several new people into the LAPD detective-turned-pi’s orbit. One of those is Maurice “Mo” Bassi, a jazz-loving hacker played by Stephen A. Chang who assists Harry on his cases.

Let's hope that Magnum and Higgins keep away from marine life in this episode (and in the future).
After all, repossessing that stingray on Magnum P.I. Season 5 Episode 12 must have cost them money (not that that's something new).
The stingray ate all of the tropical fish in the La Mariana aquarium, which had to be expensive to replace. And how oblivious would Rick be not to notice the different fish?
Of course, Rick was so distracted over his possible date with Piper that maybe any lack of observation wouldn't be inexplicable.
The last episode's case scaled up quickly as Thomas and Juliet searched for the scammer who had ripped off Kumu's friend Ying, which grew into a matter of human trafficking.
The case on Magnum P.I. Season 5 Episode 13 promises to be less significant as the P.I.s are hired to find a missing high-end chef. (Let's hope it's a paying gig this time.

It lasted only one season, but fans still mourn the demise of the sci-fi/western Firefly. As much as we love watching (and rewatching) the series, sometimes it's not enough.
Are you longing for a little more Captain Tight Pants? Want to see Zoe quietly kick some adversary's butt? Wishing you could revisit the Hero of Canton?
Well, we can't bring back Firefly -- oh, how we wish we could! -- but we can tell you where you can tune in to see the cast now.
If you can't get enough of the crew of the Serenity, read on to find out where you can see them now.
Ron Glass - Shepherd Derrial Book
Shepherd Book was the preacher with a cryptic past who boards the Serenity and befriends its crew. We loved Book's warmth and acceptance of his other crew members while still being able to hold onto his faith.

Sizemore’s penchant for playing tough guys made him a mainstay in crime and war films, always bringing color to an ensemble.
After his enviable run through the ’90s, Sizemore remained a reliable actor into the new millennium. He appeared in numerous projects per year, often boosting low-profile films with his star presence. Sizemore also brought to life one of the more enduring characters to emerge from video games, voicing mob boss Sonny Forelli in “Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.” He also made impactful appearances on television shows like “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” “Hawaii Five-0” and the 2017 Showtime revival of “Twin Peaks.
