The future has been seen
Alana is an unlikable teenager who belittles everyone around her and makes a mockery of the church and religion. The situation involving the homeless is also incredulous, as why not move them to the church? In terms of content, the idea of religion and commentary surrounding its place in a climate ravaged world is a nice touch, but there hasn't been much in the way of the rest of the world beyond the US. Greenland, Russia and a few other countries were seen in episode 1, but it's a shame that hasn't continued. Hopefully the episodes ahead will branch out and show more of the impact across the world. Marshall visits the Department of Sea Level Mitigation to pitch their approval to save American infrastructure. Sea levels are rising, causing chaos in many countries and states. Texas is no longer part of American democracy, and Miami is flooding more every day. Marshall wants the church saved, but it is already waterlogged and everyone needs to wear wellys to hear him speak. Harris Goldblatt shows up with his daughter Gabriela and his daughter Alana, who seem to warm to Marshall. Alana approaches Marshall and questions if God is punishing them all. Back home, Alana informs us that there are currently 23 million climate refugees as of 2047. Marshall's mother is among those fleeing, and Marshall receives terrible news that Temple Israel is not a candidate for preservation. This is probably for the best, as Marshall receives terrible news that Temple Israel is not a candidate for preservation. Harris is detained by the FBI for bribery of a public official, racketeering and extortion. He is allowed to sit and listen as Alana has her bar mitzvah and points out that God is going to smite them down and judge them all. Alana also confirms that she called the police and Marshall is called out for selling out the homeless. Unfortunately, there is a big hurricane inbound with maximum winds, making the situation even worse. Harris is allowed to sit and listen as Alana has her bar mitzvah and points out that God is going to smite them down and judge them all. The hurricane has caused flooding in the church, leading to Marshall taking off for higher ground. In Tallahassee, Marshall works to give out food to homeless people at the shelter, and Alana forgives him for his transgressions. Alana then smiles and helps Marshall serve out food. Marshall is now homeless, but Alana forgives him and helps him serve out food.
