I realised that in a sense Semi-Detached shares a lot with The Worse Week of my Life.
The extended recap of the previous episodes is there for the continuing story lines such as Stuart's brother on the run Charlie.
Stuart is running late for a DJing job and needs his Ipad which has his playlist.
It just that every family member has borrowed it. His dad Willie has used the Ipad to pick up dates from Grindr. Even his daughter has it which means going to his ex wife's house and meeting his ex mother in law.
Disaster strikes as Stuart discovers that his ex father in law is lying dead in the car with his Ipad. A strange man turns up thinking it is a Grindr encounter.
It a strange world where nobody else has a tablet or a smartphone. For example Willie can use Grindr on his phone. I reckon daughter Madonna would have an Ipad of her own.
It still works as a farce but not as good as previous episodes. The spoilt daughter Madonna is still the weak link.
I was surprised to see Frances Barber cast as Stuart's sneering ex mother in law. Her allegedly toxic social media output might have made her almost unemployable.
