Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking
-
- References to smoking are made such as using packs of cigarettes instead of cash to hail a can in Russia. Smoking can be viewed by actors in various scenes.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
-
- Being a thriller, the film is tense throughout. The protagonists are constantly under pressure from family, businesses, and the government. Violence is often threatened.
Spoilers
Violence & Gore
- Two scenes of men being beaten up by the KGB. The first is shown only briefly through quick cuts to the punches, though the actual act is shown mostly offscreen (the character is later shown fine.) The second shows a man punch another, but the camera leaves the room as you hear him getting hit more (the character is shown later with bruises.)
- Threats of violence are present. A man drops objects out of a window to explain gravity, then implies he'll throw a kid out the window (they are taken away before he can). The same man is later threatened with a gun (but is arrested before he is shot).
- Henk slams his hand and the letter on a marble kitchen island in hearing he's been blackmailed.
