Weeds and breaking bad
brandonneicke18 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I also thought this show reminded me a lot of weeds and breaking bad. Ironic that people writing reviews on this episode are saying the writers obviously don't know their audience. It should be the other way around. I completely knew this is the turn they were taking and they execute it well in many ways. I know it's been a long time since weeds and breaking bad I didn't think they would end up jacking two completely same plots for this season. In weeds Nancy botwin screws around to much and ends up a loose end. However the kingpin can not kill her because she reveals shes pregnant with his baby. Knowing once the baby is out, she is dead. The breaking bad plot became that Walter white was the chef and only person who could make the special blue crystal. Being as he's the only one who can produce it, even though he is a complete loose end they can't kill him until they can train someone to take his place. Good girls has done both those plots into one. Exact same just different characters. That being said it's been along time and it's not something that's been done over and over and I'd imagine these writers drew inspiration from both those shows. Little to big to be a nod. Hoping good girls can find a unique idea to now separate them from the rest. In regards to the current reviews this show is absolutely going in the right direction and only direction it can go. If moms were watching this as a giggle thinking it's about other bored moms, you were obviously wrong from the get go. I knew what this show was gonna lead to by the 4th episode of the first season

another quite shocking turn

Warning: Spoilers
Well Lucy gets killed. Now I'm writing this because I kind of felt this was the right progression even though unexpected, and explored why I felt it. The reason I figured is because Lucy had it coming. She placed her moral objections above the lives of three women who were almost their friends, who pleaded with her. Then she couldn't read the sincerity of Beth trying to protect her. Then she didn't care or try to defend the three when she felt secure and out of the woods. But it is still sad.

Highlight of the season so far

Warning: Spoilers
Before this episode I felt season two was the perfect wrap up of this show (if they left the finality of Rio's death). This season so far has been underwhelming and felt like a retread of season 1 (the girls vs the gang where season 2 was the girls vs the cops). When Rio discovers Lucy things get cranked up to breaking bad levels. Right before the climax I could feel the dread I felt when Walt was waiting for Jesse to kill Gale. This episode got me reinvested. I still think season 2 was a good way to end this show but now that the stakes have increased I'm back in.

I love this show, but...

If Lucy is really dead, there is no way the writers understand their audience. Stupid and disgusting plot point.

Going off the rails...
darthrust20 August 2020
This is a good show, but this season has been lackluster. It feels like it's dragging out and padding episodes.

This episode especially is making it very difficult to empathize or root for the characters. In the beginning you could understand where they were coming from and you felt their choices were reasonable given the situation. This is no longer the case. Characters make bad decision after bad decision with no actual progress or benefit to speak of. It's just bad followed by bad. At least if they were getting rich you could understand the allure.

However this season has just been one bad thing after another. The writing is creating conflict for the sake of conflict, and it's amping up the intensity, but also losing the essence of the show. Thematically, this one dire note is getting tiresome. I miss the humor and fun of the show.

Ruined a good show

Seasons 1 and 2, 8 stars. Really enjoyed them. Season 3... awful. It starts very slow, boring and repetitive and then they completely ruin it at this Episode. Not sure what the writers were thinking, I don't think they understand their audience at all.

Agent turner died why aren't the cops looking into that?Don't beth's neighbours think it is weird that scary dudes hang out in her yard 24/7? Beth is pregnant then she isn't? I doubt a certain good girl is dead and if she is she didn't give rio the right plate.Where is Rio's baby momma at?Don't they have like twenty million or what about he 150 grand a piece they made? You could have a good life somewhere else on that

Beth Boland is Not Walter White
isaacsmith-2044811 May 2021
Great show except for when it tries too hard to be "Breaking Bad." I'm sorry, but I am calling out the writers for trying to make Beth Boland's description of making counterfeit money sound like Walter White's passion for the artistry of cooking the perfect Meth. Dan Quayle is no Jack Kennedy, and Beth Boland is no Walter White!!

Come on!

I liked this show because it made me laugh, even when it got tense. Now it's getting to be more like "Fargo" without the occasional chuckle...

Total bs

Warning: Spoilers
Due to fact that Lucy is dead because of Beth's idiot hubby Dean who broke the money template Beth never felt sorry and responsible for her death which is on Dean But she carries on with that idiot like nothing happened. Well the writers of this part has been real numb. So people I have wasted my time that is all for you to know
