Zack Snyder’s vision for the DC Extended Universe has long been a topic of fascination among fans. Therefore, after the filmmaker recently revealed what his conclusive plans would have been for Henry Cavill’s Superman, had his Dceu franchise continued, Snyder baffled people with his ideas.

According to his gripping interview with GQ, Zack Snyder opened up on what he had in store for Superman, following the ending of Justice League. According to Snyder, as he wanted Henry Cavill’s trilogy to come full circle, his conclusion would see Superman being destroyed and again turning back time to deal with Darkseid.

CW’s Arrowverse gave rise to plenty of shows, but arguably the best among them was ‘The Flash,’ which last year concluded its ninth and final season. Grant Gustin portrayed the Scarlet Speedster for almost 10 years, and he is well known to be among the best live-action versions of the character.
Since Flash himself is one of the most popular characters in DC comics, plenty of fans have been wondering whether he will be included in the newly rebooted Gunn’s & Safran’s Dcu.
Dceu did have its Flash, portrayed by the highly scandalous Ezra Miller. The character eventually got its own movie, adapting the famous ‘Flashpoint’ storyline in which Miller’s Flash supposedly resets the timeline completely changing some vital details in his universe. The movie was met with mixed reactions, and it was one of the final flops that Dceu had.

We have seen multiple adaptations of Superman in various media franchises, from live-action to video games. However, not a lot of them have received as much acclaim as Superman: The Animated Series did.

A lot of talented actors and designers were also associated with the project back in the 90s. However, when it came to creating a character design for the iconic villain of Lex Luthor, instead of trying to design the character like the comics, the designers tried to copy the badass look of this iconic James Bond villain from On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

Zack Snyder’s Dceu finally came to an end with the release of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. The franchise was marred by controversy, mismanagement, and a messy plan that in the end fizzled out, making way for a full-fledged reboot by James Gunn. While the resulting franchise became a huge mess, it never started that way.
Zack Snyder reportedly had a five-movie plan for the Dceu, which would encompass the journey of Superman from being an unsure alien with powers to a full-fledged superhero who does good. While audiences only got glimpses of this arc in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, the original two-part Justice League film explored this arc in even more detail. A fan on Reddit also theorized how Justice League Part 2 would build on this story arc.

“Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent” may be the biggest original TV series premiere Canada has ever had. That means, when that famous “dun-dun” opens the series on Feb. 22 via Citytv, the pressure is on.
It’s notoriously hard to get a show greenlit in Canada. Funding challenges, market size and competition from U.S. acquisitions mean few, if any, Canadian series debut on the Big 3 commercial networks each season. Even public broadcaster CBC, which boasts the highest number of originals on a major network, still relies on acquisitions to fill out its primetime programming grid.
Figuring out how to make noise with a new series in a crowded landscape isn’t a uniquely Canadian challenge, but there are more hurdles here. That’s why from the beginning, a Canadian adaptation of “Criminal Intent” felt like a win — at least from a viewership and marketing standpoint. It’s a recognizable...

Classic 1970s television series Kung Fu is heading to the big screen, and Donnie Yen will star – more here.
A feature film based on the classic 1970s TV series Kung Fu has been in development for some time, and now it seems to be moving forward at Universal Pictures and 87North.
According to Deadline, John Wick director David Leitch will helm the film from a screenplay by Stephen Chin, with Ip Man star Donnie Yen set to play Kwai Chang Caine, a role first inhabited by David Carradine.
Martial arts icon Bruce Lee famously auditioned for the lead role in the original 1972 series, but lost out, of course, to Carradine. He played Caine, a spiritual monk who roams the Old West in the 1800s, wandering into confrontations and fist fights every week. The show proved popular, with phrases like ‘grasshopper’ making their way into the cultural lexicon.

Exclusive: World-renowned actor and influential Hong Kong action filmmaker Donnie Yen is set to star in 87North and Universal Pictures’ Kung Fu, a feature adaptation of the classic ’70s TV series. Kelly McCormick, David Leitch, and Guy Danella will produce through 87North, with Leitch eyeing to direct.
Stephen Chin wrote the screenplay. Stephen L’Hereaux will also produce, and Ed Spielman, creator of the original Kung Fu television series, will executive produce.
The original ABC series starred David Carradine as a master martial artist who fled China after his master was murdered. He wandered the Old West helping the downtrodden and weathering rampant racism while eluding assassins trying to kill him. He was a peaceful man until provoked, which happened at least once an episode.

The DC Extended Universe is dead; long live the DC Universe. What has felt like a months-long inevitability has finally turned into reality with the release of "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom," which technically functions as the last chapter of the superhero saga that began a little over 10 years ago with Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel." What comes next will be the beginning of a much different approach, shepherded by DC Studios co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran. But compared to the slate of high-profile projects that Warner Bros. confidently announced back in 2014, it's obvious that things didn't quite go according to plan -- and if ever there were a fitting eulogy for a franchise with plenty of unexpected highs and lows, well, that would be it.
To state the obvious, it was never the studio's intention to bring things to a conclusion with an "Aquaman" sequel, of all things.

What, exactly, has been Loki‘s glorious purpose? The second season debuted at a fallow point in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with troubles both onscreen and off. But the show has proven to be remarkably entertaining, building to a penultimate episode that stands among the best things that Marvel has ever done.
After the explosion of the temporal loom in episode four, episode five found Loki time slipping to various timeline branches, gathering Casey, Mobius, and other members of the Tva, who are apparently living their pre-tva lives. With the help of Ob, Loki gathers the Tva team together, hoping to prevent reality from devolving into spaghetti.
The episode ends with Loki realizing that he can control his time slips and bring himself to any point in time, going back before Victor Timely exploded into silly string. What does this mean for the finale and for the MCU?...

Warner Bros. Discovery and DC Studios are in a rough era they’d like to forget as soon as possible, at least regarding their live-action content. However, DC has always been known for terrific animated content since the legendary ‘Batman: The Animated Series.’ In the last 30 years, DC spawned many animated movies and television series. Some of them were absolutely terrific, and the minority of them not so much, but still, DC fans always have a good reason to look forward to upcoming animated content.
Last July, WB and DC officially announced two brand-new animated movies — ‘Watchmen’ and ‘Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths’ — and it’s hard to say which one we’re more looking forward to. “The Flash” has finally arrived.
After several attempts (this iteration of the character has been brewing since at least 2013) and substantial controversy, the scarlet speedster has arrived in theaters with an accompanying whirlwind of both excitement and hesitation. Borrowing loosely from the event comic series “Flashpoint,” “The Flash” stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen, a crime lab technician and superhero (or “metahuman” in DC speak) who decides to go back in time and prevent his mother’s murder (and his father’s arrest for said murder) but winds up being knocked out of his timeline and into an alternate reality that is very, very wrong. In this reality he is younger, doesn’t have superpowers and might be helpless to stop an alien invasion led by Zod (Michael Shannon), since this world doesn’t have any metahumans.
Can he find that world’s heroes, save the day, and get back to his own realm?...

When Zack Snyder’s ‘Man of Steel’ was released in 2013, we all thought a new era of DC had started since the movie was supposed to kick off a cinematic universe that was supposed to bring DC into the cinematic universe race with Marvel. However, ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’ received a mixed critical response, and despite grossing over $800 million worldwide, it was deemed a commercial disappointment since it was the first live-action movie that assembled Batman and Superman together.
In 2014, Warner Bros. and DC revealed their planned slate of DC movies, which included many solo movies like ‘Wonder Woman,’ ‘Aquaman,’ ‘The Flash,’ ‘Cyborg,’ and ‘The Green Lantern Corps.’ Now, nine years later, only three of these movies have been made, with the difference that ‘The Flash’ turned out to be very different from what it was originally planned. The movie has been in development hell for many years...

Warner Bros. is preparing to move away from what we once knew as the Dceu, which kicked off with Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel" a decade ago. That whole endeavor was messy, but WB was originally all-in on the filmmaker's plans. One film that got dragged through the mud the whole way through was "The Flash," which finally hit theaters this summer with disastrous financial results. However, a previous incarnation of the project could have introduced a different Thanos-level threat to the Dceu.
Storyboard artist Jay Oliva, who worked on several DC movies including "Wonder Woman," Ben Affleck's scrapped version of "The Batman," and yes, "The Flash," recently spoke with the folks at Inverse in honor of the tenth anniversary of the animated movie "Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox." During the conversation, the filmmaker discussed the various incarnations of the live-action film through the years, including Rick Famuyiwa...

A few weeks ago, DC released the announcement video of ‘Suicide Squad Isekai‘ on their official YouTube page, an upcoming anime television series based on the famous DC Comics team of supervillains, Suicide Squad. Of course, many fans of the genre are excited about the project, which will see Warner Bros. Japan, Production I.G and Wit Studio collaboration in action. This isn’t the first time DC ventured into Japanese animation, with ‘Deadshot’ and ‘Working Through the Pain’ being among many successful projects, and it seems that the animators behind ‘Attack on Titan,’ ‘Spy x Family’ and ‘Vinland Saga’ will take on the notable DC supervillains.
This, for many unconventional, collaboration will try to attract both anime and comic book fans, and the recent Anime Expo revealed some details of the project. However, besides the upcoming ‘Suicide Squad Isekai’ anime, the series director, Eri Osada, revealed more details about some...

Vivek Ramaswamy is getting a hard look by Republicans willing to entertain alternatives to Donald Trump, especially as Ron DeSantis continues to flounder. Warner Bros. Discovery and DC Studios are currently in a pretty rough era since their last three Dceu movies have all turned out to be commercial failures, and things aren’t looking promising for the upcoming ‘Blue Beetle’ either. However, we mustn’t forget the animated projects that DC is currently developing, and there we have some new things that are promising quite a lot.
DC has always been known for great animated adaptations, regardless if they’re feature movies or TV shows. Since the legendary DC Animated Universe spawned series such as ‘Batman: The Animated Series,’ ‘Superman: The Animated Series,’ ‘Batman Beyond,’ and ‘Justice League.’ The universe concluded in 2006, but DC continued to produce more animated projects, including great movies such as ‘Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox,’ ‘Batman: Under the Red Hood,’ ‘Batman: Assault on Arkham,’ and a two-part movie adaptation of ‘Batman: The Dark Knight Returns.’

Whether it’s the questionable FX, the lead star’s very controversial dalliances, or just audiences being burned one too many times by Comic Book Films, there’s one movie that is all anyone can talk about. And look, I get it. There was a lot of craziness that went on during this production and had more people come and go due to creative differences than any movie we’ve covered on the show.
Warning you guys and gals right now, if you haven’t seen The Flash, you’re going to want to turn back now, because this is where things get Super spoilery.
Warner Brothers tried getting a Flash movie off the ground in the late 80’s with comic writer Jeph Loeb being brought in to write the screenplay. Unfortunately nothing ever came of the property until 2004 when David S Goyer signed on to write, direct and produce a new Flash.

It took about a decade, but finally, Warner Bros. got its Flash solo movie in theaters, with Ezra Miller reprising their role as the Fastest Man in the DC Universe. While the movie’s very disappointing box office return thus far likely means we’ll never get a proper sequel, The Flash does leave a few loose ends that would have presumably been addressed in the next installment. One cliffhanger in particular has even spawned a major online fan theory that just so happens to have been confirmed by director Andy Muschietti himself, leaving us daydreaming about what could have been.
Although The Flash is heavily inspired by 2011’s fan-favorite comic book Flashpoint by Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert, Muschietti branched out with a different version of events. But one thing the director kept from the source material was the death of Nora...

As repeated numerous times, the importance of the source material is immense when it comes to comic-book-oriented adaptations, especially at a time when creators are getting sidelined by big studios and corporate giants despite their works being responsible for the multimillion-dollar adaptations in the first place. Most of the time, the makers of these adaptations take artistic liberties and interpret the narrative in their own ways, which very seldom surpasses the source. The recently released Dceu flick The Flash draws heavily from the seminal story Flashpoint, written and drawn by Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert, a story that had an unprecedented effect on DC universe’s continuity. Although the movie extensively deals with the source’s time-travel narrative, alternate timelines, and multiverse-related themes, there are some crucial changes that give it a distinctiveness of its own. We will discuss a major portion of the similarities and differences between the source...

The long-in-development Flash movie has finally hit theaters, and it signals a new start for the Dcu on screen. Warner Bros. is using this film to close the door on the superhero reality that started with Zack Snyder’s Man Of Steel and created a new world. Using some time travel loopholes explained in the film, we will see some of the actors continuing in their roles while others will be recast and move forward. This film not only has easter eggs for the DC films we’ve seen over the past decade but just about any DC property to happen since the characters began showing up on the big screen. What Flash easter eggs did we find within the movie?

The hypothetical concept of traveling back and forth in time has always been fascinating to us and has existed in mythologies across the world long before the advent of sci-fi literature. Later, the prospect of not being shackled to our present and learning about the past and future by bypassing the natural flow of time has intrigued many writers and physicists. In order to rationalize its possibilities and conceptualize its ramifications, the efforts of curious minds led to the advent of a number of theories like general relativity, special relativity, the grandfather paradox, quantum entanglement, time dilation, suspended animation, and wormholes, most of which, at this point, have been liberally used in literary endeavors.
Even though most of these aforementioned concepts have been overused in mainstream media, now and then, some of the time-travel-oriented ventures try to put their own unique spin on them in order to stand out. Therefore,...

After so many delays, controversies, and false starts, WB’s latest DC extravaganza has finally hit the big screen. Yes, The Flash is easily the studio’s most ambitious Dceu installment to date, especially when it comes the sheer amount of comic book nerdiness packed into this movie.
Barry Allen’s multiverse-shattering adventures not only brings back most of the Justice League but also Michael Keaton’s Batman and all the Burtonverse references that come with it. And there are so many more easter eggs to be found in the film’s two-and-a-half-hour runtime, including quite a few that even The Flash‘s very spoiler-y marketing hasn’t yet revealed.

When it comes to superhero fiction, aside from the rogue gallery of the Trinity, which consists of Supes, Bats, and Spidey, the character Flash boasts the most versatile, well-written, and memorable coterie of villains, occasionally referred to as ‘The Rogues.’ As consideration of a live-action Flash movie started making rounds in the late 80s, a number of classic ‘Rogues’ like Captain Boomerang, Captain Cold, Gorilla Grodd, Trickster, Heatwave, and Mirror Master were considered to play the role of antagonist(s) throughout various drafts under different directors. Back in 2015, when finally a feature entry of the character as a part of the Dceu entered the pre-production stage, it was reported that the movie would adapt the seminal comic storyline Flashpoint. The news excited readers immensely as it presented the chance to see the fan-favorite antagonist Reverse Flash on the silver screen for the first time, as Flash’s arch-enemy is integral to the story,...

Ever since Ezra Miller’s The Flash was briefly retitled Flashpoint in the late 2010s, there has been a lot of expectation (and desperation?) from Warner Bros. Pictures. Could this mark a fresh start—a chance for Miller’s speedster to travel back to the past and, in so doing, accidentally reset the DC Extended Universe into something a little more pleasing for fans and studio executives alike?
That calculus has of course changed multiple times over the years, and in the interim, The Flash began to look less like a clean slate than it did a last hurrah. Instead of a pivot, the film could very well be a wake, a eulogy, and a fond farewell to 10 years of erratic Dceu storytelling. Going in, you might even think the movie will be nothing but a fan service smorgasbord, with Michael Keaton...

The importance of source material cannot be understated when it comes to storytelling in adaptations in visual media, more so in the case of comic-book-oriented content, as not only the narrative flow but also many of the visual cues are guided by the source, which is the reason why comic readers feel so elated to see panels of the source being recreated perfectly on screen even while adaptations bring their own interpretation of the main narrative. After James Gunn took charge as the creative head of DC Studios, an exciting new change occurred in the form of associating more comic creators with the media representation of their works and underlining the importance of source material with the updates of an upcoming movie. Keeping up with recent tradition, a reading recommendation of three seminal Flash-related series was released along with the first full-length trailer for The Flash. A brief discussion about...

The release of DC’s “The Flash” comes at a particularly complicated time for the superhero outfit — there’s the myriad documented concerns, both potentially criminal and definitely personal, that have plagued star Ezra Miller, plus the issues that have pushed DC Studios into a moment of change and upheaval — but perhaps the most immediate worry is that the film arrives on the heels of another superhero blockbuster that covers similar ground, and does it better by nearly every metric.
That other film is, of course, last week’s smash hit “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” which marks a high-water mark for both Marvel and the superhero sub-genre dedicated to the multiverse movie. Just two weeks after that film’s release, here comes “The Flash,” already a tenuous bet, and now forced to directly compete with the best example yet of what this sort of feature can accomplish.

The Flash may be the fastest man alive, but his upcoming movie has had a slow crawl to release. We've previously documented the full timeline of production on "The Flash" and the many different directors and writers who've been at the helm. In 2015, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller ("The Lego Movie") were hired to write a treatment for "The Flash," with an option to direct. They instead chose to board "Solo: A Star Wars Story" as co-directors, but were later fired from that movie and replaced with Ron Howard. Fortunately, they got a second shot at the world of superheroes with "Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse".
The final version of "The Flash" was directed by Andy Muschietti ("It") and written by John Francis Daley & Jonathan Goldstein ("Spider-Man: Homecoming"), and Joby Harold ("Army of the Dead"). However, Lord and Miller retain off-screen writing credits for "additional material," indicating that elements of their...
