An international trailer has been released for an upcoming sci-fi thriller called Seven Sisters and it looks awesome! The film has a fascinating concept, the story of which is set in a future where governments have set a law where couples can only have one child. However, there's a family with seven identical sisters that are forced to live in secret.
The movie stars Willem Dafoe as the father of the sisters who are all played by Prometheus star Noomi Rapace. Each of the sisters are named after a day of the week and each one lives their life in the outside world one day at a time. For example, Monday goes out Monday, Tuesday goes out Tuesday, etc. So each one of them has to pretend and live the life of the same person. Then one day Monday is taken and she doesn't come home.

Though best known for their comedy infused genre fare - think the Dead Snow movies and Kill Buljo - Norwegian production company are moving in an entirely different direction with their upcoming thriller, Amnesia.Directed by Nini Bull Robsahm - one half of the directing duo on Audition inspired romantic comedy (yes, that Audition and, yes, you read right) You Said What - Amnesia promises to be a tightly contained, very much character driven piece and the first trailer promises good things. Take a look at it below, with English subtitles included....

Hide the women and children! The Dead Snow crew have returned to their first creation and no deer is safe!Prior to their massive international success with Dead Snow, director Tommy Wirkola and writer-star Stig-Frode Henriksen hit the big screen in Norway with Kill Buljo, a film that (obviously) started off as a Kill Bill parody and veered off from there. Wirkola has moved out of the director's chair for this new sequel - Dead Snow co-star Vegar Hoel directs in his stead - but is very much present as a writer, producer and co-star (he's the other guy with the bad mustache in the trailer) along with Henriksen and the rest of those responsible for the first one and this second offering is even bigger...

Before there was Dead Snow, there was Kill Buljo. An irreverent action comedy that sort of spoofed Kill Bill whilst very much ripping into the stereotypes of northern Norway - home to director Tommy Wirkola and writer-star Stig Frode Henriksen - Kill Buljo is what first drew attention to the Wirkola-Henriksen duo, who have since teamed up on big budget Hollywood offering Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters. And though Wirkola is currently hard at work directing Dead Snow 2 that doesn't mean they've forgotten their earlier creation. Oh, no.Now in post production for a winter release is Kill Buljo 2. Wirkola and Henriksenreturn as writers and both appear in acting parts - Henriksen reprising the title role - while Dead Snow actor Vegar Hoel, who...

Tommy Wirkola, the Norwegian director responsible for the excellent Nazi-zombie flick Dead Snow, and the genius behind the long-in-production Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, will next be turning his hand to TV with Hell Fjord which follows:
Unorthodox policeman Salmander [who] is banished from the city to a fjord and the local county sheriff’s office, where he discovers a bizarre village full of quirky residents which may also be the gateway to hell.
Wirkola is, according to the Nfi, once again working with Terje Stromstad, Benedicte Aubert Ringnes and Kjetil Omberg, who together were previously been behind Kill Buljo and the aforementioned Dead Snow. He will head up the series, and reportedly direct the first episode.
Hell Fjord is set to begin shooting in May for an expected January 2012 broadcast.

I personal hated Kill Buljo, and was one of the few who disliked Dead Snow, so it shouldn't be surprising that I'm not exactly screaming in excitement for Tommy Wirkola's English-language debut Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters. Even beyond that, it looks as if the Norwegian director is taking his "talents" to TV. Announced this morning is "Hell Fjord," a new horror comedy series that follows Salmander, an unorthodox policeman who is banished to a small city in Finland. There he finds a truly bizarre village that may actually be the gateway to Hell. A start date is scheduled for May with a release planned for 2012.

Norwegian directory Tommy Wirkola has cast the titular roles for his forthcoming Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, and the names are a bit surprising. Jeremy Renner will play Hansel, and Noomi Rapace will play Gretel, 15 years after the events in the infamous Brothers Grimm fairy tale.
The film will be Wirkola's English-language debut. His previous work includes the Norwegian Kill Bill spoof Kill Buljo and the Nazi-zombie movie Dead Snow.

Twitch was on hand at the Venice International Film Festival where The Hurt Locker star Jeremy Renner dropped word that he's up for the part in Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters, adding that he'd star as Hansel with The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo's Noomi Rapace as Gretel! The odd-ball tale is to be directed by Tommy Wirkola, the man behind the Norwegian Kill Bill parody Kill Buljo, along with the horror comedy Dead Snow. The idea explores how things played out for the poor siblings 15 years after that whole gingerbread house incident. Simply put, they're now specialized bounty hunters looking to put down the cackling black-hat set.

Meet Tommy Wirkola. He's the man responsible for Norwegian Kill Bill parody Kill Buljo. He brought Nazi zombies to bloody life in Dead Snow. He made comedy juvenile again in Kurt Josef Wagle And The Legend Of The Fjord Witch. And next? Next he's making his English language debut with Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters. That bit's been known for a while. What hasn't been known is who his Hansel and Gretel will be. But know we know.
The Hurt Locker star Jeremy Renner - not a man good at keeping secrets, this one - dropped word in an interview at the Venice International Film Festival that he's up for the part of Hansel with The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo's Noomi Rapace as Gretel. Renner and Rapace as the fairytale characters fifteen years later, now evolved into witch hunting warriors? Oh, hell yes.

From Tommy Wirokla's strange and creative brain that brought you "Kill Buljo" and "Dead Snow" comes a new take on the popular "Hansel and Gretel" tale. Instead of them getting all plumped up to be cooked by the evil witch, it's time to take matters into their own hands fifteen years later in "Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters". No, I'm not kidding, this is an actual movie being made here. There's not much more known about this, other than the fact that Renner confirmed that he is playing Hansel while he was chatting it up at the Venice International Film Festival. The actor also spilled the beans that "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" actress Noomi Rapace will be co-starring with him, taking on the role of Gretel. Talk about a sweet witch-hunting match made in heaven, or in this case Wirokla's mind.No word on when production will start up on this one,...

Director: Tommy Wirkola.
Writer: Stig Frode Henriksen.
A Norwegian film that made its premiere at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, "Dead Snow," is now approaching North American shores, with a limited release this summer. And not since "Shock Waves," has the use of Nazi zombies been given such effective attention. Twenty-nine year old Tommy Wirkola from "Kill Buljo: The Movie," fame, a satire of Tarantino's "Kill Bill," is the creative energy behind this newest zombie genre film. Not skimping on the gore and attempting a few scares along the way "Dead Snow," mostly stays in comedic tones. Also, while paying homage to 80s slasher films of the past "Dead Snow," manages to avoid the many pitfalls of blending horror and comedy through excellent film techniques while owning the many cliches of horror film classics. And these are not just zombies these are frozen Nazi zombies!

So I really don't know what's going on, but this trailer for a film called Dead Snow looks pretty damn exciting. The story follows a group of friends who drive to a cabin in Norway where German troops were slaughtered by locals in 1945. Now the undead zombie Nazis are coming alive to feast. Besides zombies, there's snowmobiles, dark cabins, and well, more zombies! Just ignore the foreign dialogue and check out what could potentially be a cult classic. All I know is I want to catch a screening of this as soon as possible. And thanks to Quiet Earth (via SlashFilm) for first discovering this - you've made my day!
