- TriviaIn his 1996 autobiography, director Don Siegel said he agreed to direct an episode of this series only if the episode would be based on the storyline in William Inge's original play Bus Stop, which had previously been adapted into Bus Stop (1956), starring Marilyn Monroe as Cherie and Don Murray as Bo. In this episode, Tuesday Weld and Gary Lockwood play these roles.
Featured review
Tuesday Weld played Marilyn's role.
This TV series was based on the William Inge play "Bus Stop", which was turned into a movie starring Marilyn Monroe. It is a story about an untalented hillbilly, from the Ozark Mountains, on a bus to Hollywood in hopes of becoming a singer. In this one episode of the TV series, Tuesday Weld was given the role of "Cherie" and she even sang the song "Temptation". Her performance was quite memorable, because I was a child and i certainly remember it quite vividly. Unfortunately the TV series was later canceled when 50's teen idol Fabian Forte was miscast in a role too violent for television. I would love to see this TV series released on DVD.
