Dr. Temperance Brennan: Do you realize when we go to trial he could use the insanity defense.
Special Agent Seeley Booth: The guy *is* nuts.
Dr. Temperance Brennan: Yes, but is he nuts because he got a brain disease from eating human flesh, *or* was he already nuts the first time he ate flesh, *or* did he just lick his fingers after surgery?

Not Hard to Bear!
This episode begins the tongue in cheek stuff that will go on for many seasons. I'll say it again, it could do without the juvenile sex talk that goes on in the lab. Jack is really tiresome at this point. This is true of Angela as well. They are incredibly competent at their jobs; why do they have so much teenage balony going on. For the first time Booth and Brennan are clicking. She still drives him nuts but their sparring is much more entertaining. The plot, of course, involves a bear that has consumed a human arm. It takes place in a small town in Washington state. There is some fear that cannibalism is a motive but it gets rather complicated. Very enjoyable episode.
