Archie and the old geezer
Although I'm not sure how many times the entire family was together for an episode this late(1978)in the series, it was nice having them all together here, adding Aunt Iola of course, played by Nedra Volz. The gist has Archie grouchy that she's there in the first place, and even grouchier when he realizes that plans fell through for someone else to watch her, as he thinks he'll be stuck with her for 2 more weeks. He laments that she makes unexpected visits to the "terlet", and that she may catch him one day with his "defenses down". The funniest line to me was when Iola says "why do I have to go to an old folk's home?", then Archie replies "because you're an old folk", with a wry smile on his face. Nothing too memorable occurs before or after that funny line, and I even found Iola a touch arrogant, and it was especially painful watching her dance when she left the house. One interesting tidbit has "Close Encounters of the Third Kind(1977)" get an indirect mention, and another aspect I noticed, unless I missed something very early in the episode, is there anyone watching baby Joey next door? It might've been mentioned, but I certainly missed it.
