Tite Kubo’s Bleach is one of the most unique stories because it is based around Soul Reapers who are trying to protect their Soul Society from impending doom while also maintaining peace on Earth. However, the story is not the only thing that is unique about Kubo’s magnum opus. The name of the series also has a unique connection that many fans don’t know.
Bleach Anime
Bleach as a name felt weird to a lot of fans as it did not have any direct reference to the vast variety of elements of the series. For example, Dragon Ball’s name references the magical orbs that give rise to a mysterious dragon who grants wishes. This is why Kubo once revealed how he came up with the name “Bleach” for his magnum opus.
But Bleach was not the first choice of the manga creator. He initially planned another...

Tite Kubo created many iconic characters in Bleach, but Kenpachi Zaraki took home the ‘baddest gym-rat’ trophy. The 11th Division Captain lived and breathed battles throughout the series and became one of the most coveted characters.
Despite being so popular, Zaraki did not appear nearly as much as people wanted to see him in the manga and anime. His battles were some of the most celebrated Bleach fights, each more restless than the last.
An old comment from Tite Kubo will give you more insight into the author’s relationship with this particular Shinigami.

In 2021, Bleach celebrated its 20th anniversary with a new art exhibition giving details about the series, its history, its progress over the years, and the overall success of Tite Kubo’s magnum opus. The art exhibition was opened on December 18, 2021, in Tokyo, Japan, and it was probably the biggest celebration of the Bleach franchise.
Bleach Anime
To honor the legacy of Kubo and his masterpiece, other prominent manga creators from the industry also came together and shared their own artwork featuring the characters and events from the Bleach manga series. This was their way of congratulating Kubo on completing 20 years and still going strong with the latest adaptation of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War.
While all the artworks from the manga creators had a lot of importance, the illustrations from Eiichiro Oda (One Piece) and Masashi Kishimoto (Naruto) held the most value, as all of them make up the “Big Three” of the anime industry,...

Among the Soul Reapers in Bleach, their strongest power is their Bankai. A Bankai is the second form of the swords of these Soul Reapers called Zanpakuto, which is considered absolutely lethal and can only be used by the strongest characters in the series. Bleach has featured a lot of Bankai transformations over the years, and each of them is unique in its own way.
Shinji Hirako
However, there is one Bankai that is so terrifying that it has been banned from the Soul Society. This Bankai belongs to Shinji Hirako, who is the current captain of the 5th Division of Gotei 13. The name of his Bankai is Sakashima Yokoshima Happofusagari, and it is considered to be a big threat to Shinji’s enemies and his friends alike.

Often, the special ingredient behind a successful villain is a tera-jerker backstory. You can see it in My Hero Academia (Shigaraki), Naruto (Itachi Uchiha), and many other hit anime. Yet, Tite Kubo managed to create one of the biggest anime villains with absolutely no backstory.
Aizen, the slimy (and handsome) antagonist of Bleach, has conquered innumerable hearts. But how? Tite Kubo never gave him a proper backstory. No one knows why he has an evil mentality. Worst of all! You can’t even tell if you should sympathize with him or not. Turns out Kubo never gave much of an explanation for his intentions on purpose.

A healthy rivalry between manga creators is not a bad thing. But when this rivalry is seen between industry giants like Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, and Tite Kubo, the creator of Bleach, it creates a sense of tension between the fans of both series. In 2017, Kubo stated on a radio show that he was jealous of Oda and hated him.
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War
This led to a huge online feud between One Piece and Bleach fans, and since then, there has been a sense of hatred between the two fandoms. However, Oda, being the kind-hearted person he is, responded to Kubo’s remark with kindness. He even invited Kubo to drink on the 20th anniversary of the Bleach series.

Although Dragon Ball has some new installments that will be launched this year, the series didn’t get much new content last year. While other popular anime and manga series like One Piece and Bleach saw decent growth, Dragon Ball is still waiting for its moment, and this has been reflected in a recent report by Bandai.

Bandai Namco, one of the biggest Japanese video game publishers, has recently released its financial report for the full fiscal year 2024, and the company has seen some major changes after a very long time. The remake of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece by Wit Studio has ignited the desires of another fandom, who are now also demanding an anime remake of their favorite series. Bleach is one of the Big Three of anime. Even though it did not reach the same popularity as Naruto and One Piece, it still played a crucial role in changing the course of the manga and anime industry for the better. Bleach revolves around Ichigo Kurosaki, who met a female shinigami, Rukia Kuchiki, and later became a substitute shinigami.
Tite Kubo did a great job with his magnum opus, but the fans always felt that the ending was rushed and could have been explored more. While most fans thought it was due to Shueisha forcing Kubo to wrap up the manga in a limited time, it was actually the mangaka who wanted the manga to end. The Thousand Year Blood War arc suffered a rushed ending.

News broke out recently that Japan’s major manga publisher, Shogakukan, along with several other public and private companies invested 2.92 billion yen (approximately Usd 19.5 million) in manga localization company Orange Inc.
The ideology behind the investment was to boost the export of manga overseas by using AI translations as it would reduce the time taken to translate these works.
The anime and manga industry has watched with a mix of intrigue and apprehension as AI has matured rapidly.
While AI’s potential for streamlining workflows and reducing production costs is undeniable and even favored by those wanting to increase productivity, concerns do linger about its impact on human creators who have dedicated their careers to this field.
In that light, Japan championing for AI manga translations has the potential to reshape the entire manga industry. Unsurprisingly, overseas manga translators and lettering artists have greeted the news with a healthy dose of skepticism.

The job of a voice actor, particularly in the anime world, is not easy. They have to go through every emotion and portray it exactly like the characters in the series. This was experienced by Natsuki Hanae, the voice actor for Tanjiro Kamado in one of the most popular anime and manga series, Demon Slayer.
Demon Slayer Mugen Train
Hanae has voiced a lot of characters in the anime industry, like Ken Kaneki in Tokyo Ghoul, Korai Hoshiumi in Haikyu!!, Vanitas in The Case Study of Vanitas, Gremmy Thoumeaux in Bleach, etc. But he has earned the most recognition because of his portrayal of Tanjiro, as it is probably his best performance as of yet.

Anime and manga fans have always compared Luffy, Ichigo, and Naruto, the protagonists of “The Big Three”: One Piece, Bleach, and Naruto. While these comparisons primarily focus on the strengths and abilities of the characters, there are other aspects that fans need to consider while trying to prove which character is the better protagonist.
Luffy in One Piece (Credits: Toei Animation)
Although the stories of Ichigo and Naruto have ended in their respective series, Luffy still has a few years left. One Piece has just entered the final saga, and it gives Luffy a chance to prove that he is a better protagonist than Ichigo and Naruto. And there is one aspect of the narrative that could help him gain the title.
This aspect involves Luffy writing his own legacy. Unlike Ichigo and Naruto, Luffy does not follow in the footsteps of his father, and that’s what makes him unique.

Demon Slayer has been one of the most popular anime of the modern generation. The manga earned worldwide fame, and then it was adapted into an anime. Apart from the plot and the action-packed sequences, it had a top-notch animation. Throughout all the seasons and films, the fans enjoyed the animation the most. Few anime could match the level of Ufotable.
Following the massive success of Demon Slayer anime, Ufotable became an admired animation studio. Seeing how they transformed Koyoharu Gotouge’s magnum opus into a visual treat, Studio Pierrot wanted to follow that path to achieve the same level with Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3. As we have written on more than one occasion, the Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War anime is slowly heating up for its third part, which is scheduled to air sometime this year. We have also reported that the series is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the anime’s premiere with a special exhibition in Japan, which is part of the preparation for the upcoming arc. Now, as we have said, the Bleach anime is on a break while the manga is officially over (although fans are hopeful that another arc might appear in the future), which is actually a great time to revisit the series as a whole and reveal some shocking and surprising information about how the series was created as a whole.

It takes some authors decades to realize how to end their stories, while others know the ending from the very beginning; Tite Kubo falls in one of those categories. Endings and beginnings are two of the most complicated parts of a story, parts that if failed, would cause chaos or even failure of the projects that many put their hopes and dreams in.

Tite Kubo has always prided himself with the fact about how he takes his time in establishing a character so as to incorporate a response from the fans in a more positive direction. Bleach has an array of different characters that vary in personality, design, and overall individuality. When creating such distinctive characters, they almost become people of their own.

That is not to say that some authors cannot have fun with what they have created. It is this creative freedom that many of the best mangakas and artists thrive on. Kubo also takes full advantage of such a situation, that too through the character of Toushirou Hitsugaya.

TV Asahi is one of Japan’s best-known television channels, and anime fans will know it as well for its contribution to the anime market, which includes Crayon Shin-chan, Doraemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Blue Lock, Boys Over Flowers, Slam Dunk, Sailor Moon and numerous Gundam titles. But, recently, TV Asahi has decided to make a slightly different contribution to the world of anime by revealing a list of the 20 best anime songs of all time in a special program, but with a twist.
Namely, these songs were selected and ranked only by foreign, non-Japanese fans from around the world. The list includes songs from different time periods, which is why it is a very diverse list, and that is always a good thing. Sadly, we don’t have the special for you as it is not available for streaming, but we do have the list, so enjoy some of the best anime songs ever!

Note: This article was written by Jameel Raeburn. What’s the ideal starter anime? It’s the question for every anime enthusiast who is recommending a series, or an exploratory watcher curious to dive into the world of anime for the first time. However, there’s no clear answer. While anime is thankfully more accessible than it’s ever been, there are so many characters, plots, genres and themes that you might feel overwhelmed at first glance. You may turn to friends to hopefully nudge you in the right direction, but you can get thirty conflicting answers from thirty different people. The idea of what’s the perfect starter anime has been hotly debated online. In an interview with Michael B. Jordan , the actor revealed his five anime recommendations for those who haven’t watched it before. “ One Piece , Dragon Ball , Naruto , Bleach , and Hunter x Hunter ” were his responses.

Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings is undoubtedly one of the biggest if not the biggest fantasy series of all times, so it doesn’t really surprise us that it’s been an inspiraton for many authors from different fields. The proper implementation of the concept of legacy is a challenging affair in Shounen manga, as is seen in some of the immensely popular titles like Naruto and Dragonball Z. Most often, the weight of the fan favorite iconic characters burdens their legacy immensely, thereby hindering their growth as individual characters. Thankfully, that’s not the case in Shaman King: Flowers, a spin-off and sequel to the original Shaman King created by Hiroyuki Takei, that focuses on the future of the series by charting the journey of Hana Asakura, the son of legendary shaman duo Yoh Asakura and Anna Kyoyama. The series relies on the world-building established in the original series but doesn’t let go of the sense of individuality it has managed to create for itself.
