- A man rides a tricycle naked around Andy's studio and a woman is shown sitting topless on the floor.
- A woman's breasts are briefly visible while she bathes
- In one scene, a woman is topless throughout a fairly long conversation.
- There is much talk in multiple discussions about male genitalia using common slang terms, including a reference to President Johnson. One of the discussions is about a book and accompanying illustrations, two of which are shown.
- Three times during the film, a couple is seen having sex on a chair. In two instances the image is quite fuzzy. No nudity is shown in any of these instances.
- When a fully nude woman (shot from the side) gets into a bath, her breasts are in view from the side and from the front.
- The Venus de Milo is shown in one scene.
- There is a montage that includes numerous sexual clips including a man buttoning his pants as he walks a way from a topless woman, a woman patting a man's bare butt, standing sex and sex on a chair.
- A nude couple are shown from the side while having sex. As the camera pans along their bodies, the woman's breasts are visible.
- A man seen from the shoulders up masturbates while looks at photos of rear views of nude men.
- A nude woman lying face down on a bed is given a shot, and as she continues in conversation she raises up showing her breasts.

- Edie confronts Andy at a restaurant she screams at him and attempts to hit him but she is restrained by others.
- We see brief footage on a news program of a black man being sprayed by a fire hose.
- A man is nearly hit by a falling flower pot.
- A man shoves his motorcycle into a lake.
- When the film shows drugs being injected, sometimes a character's butt is seen to have several bruises already.
Profanity

- Eight uses of "shit", 33 uses of "fuck." "Cock" is used during an extended dialog about drawings of penises. "Queer" and "fag" are used as insults.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

- People smoke almost constantly throughout the film. People drink not only at social gatherings but also in private meetings. Some of the drinking is to excess.
- Recreational drugs and the effects of taking drugs are a significant subject in the film. Consequently, there are many, many scenes of characters using various kinds of drugs--prescription pills, speed and diet pills, marijuana, heroin, helium. There is a close-up of heroin being heated in a spoon, and there are many close-ups of injections (some of them quick enough to jolt the viewer).
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- A woman has a mental breakdown. She is screaming and crying at another man and throws things at him in a restaurant and several people try to calm her down.
- It is revealed that Edie died at 28 from drug abuse.
- Some tense arguments.
- A woman calls a hospital and says she wants to die. This may be upsetting to those who have struggled with suicidal thoughts or lost a loved one to suicide.
- Intense sexual scenes and scenes of drug usage may be too much for some audiences. In particular, the close-ups of injections might be cringe-inducing. There is also a few lines about childhood sexual abuse that come as kind of a shock.

- Edie falls asleep with a cigarette in her hand, causing her apartment to catch fire. A newspaper photo shows her being carried by medics. Later, her hand is wrapped in gauze.
