Comparisons between Naruto and Luffy have been going on since both characters entered the anime and manga worlds. Both of them have uncanny similarities as the main characters of Naruto and One Piece, but they also differ in terms of ambitions, mindsets, and the way they deal with their problems.
Naruto in Naruto Shippuden
However, the biggest comparison that fans have made between the two characters is regarding their way of dealing with their enemies during fights and battles. Both of them follow a different approach while fighting villains. While Luffy adapts in the middle of the battle, Naruto is known to employ unique tricks with the help of his jutsus.
Although using new tricks in dealing with the enemies does make the battle intriguing, Luffy’s ability to learn in the middle of the battle proves that he has a better battle Iq than Naruto, despite being the dumber character of the two.

In 2021, Bleach celebrated its 20th anniversary with a new art exhibition giving details about the series, its history, its progress over the years, and the overall success of Tite Kubo’s magnum opus. The art exhibition was opened on December 18, 2021, in Tokyo, Japan, and it was probably the biggest celebration of the Bleach franchise.

To honor the legacy of Kubo and his masterpiece, other prominent manga creators from the industry also came together and shared their own artwork featuring the characters and events from the Bleach manga series. This was their way of congratulating Kubo on completing 20 years and still going strong with the latest adaptation of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War.
While all the artworks from the manga creators had a lot of importance, the illustrations from Eiichiro Oda (One Piece) and Masashi Kishimoto (Naruto) held the most value, as all of them make up the “Big Three” of the anime industry,...

If the '90s had the surprise hit "Dragon Ball Z," the '00s had "Naruto," and the 2010s had "Attack on Titan," then the 2020s unequivocally belong to "Demon Slayer." The manga by Koyuharu Gotouge and its anime adaptation by studio Ufotable took the world by storm the moment they debuted, with the manga becoming one of the best-selling ever, while the anime became an instant hit. The first film, "Demon Slayer: Mugen Train," overcame Hayao Miyazaki's classic "Spirited Away" to become the highest-grossing Japanese film ever in Japan and the highest-grossing film of 2020 worldwide.
Even its subsequent movies, which are literally just compilations of previously-released season finales plus the first episode of the following season, have made some serious cash, leading us to dub the latest movie, "To the Hashira Training," as a savior of cinema at a time when the box office desperately needed help. Often, the special ingredient behind a successful villain is a tera-jerker backstory. You can see it in My Hero Academia (Shigaraki), Naruto (Itachi Uchiha), and many other hit anime. Yet, Tite Kubo managed to create one of the biggest anime villains with absolutely no backstory.
Aizen, the slimy (and handsome) antagonist of Bleach, has conquered innumerable hearts. But how? Tite Kubo never gave him a proper backstory. No one knows why he has an evil mentality. Worst of all! You can’t even tell if you should sympathize with him or not. Turns out Kubo never gave much of an explanation for his intentions on purpose.

Ninjas, or shinobi, live in the popular imagination as much as samurai when one thinks of great warriors from ancient Japan. While the image of the samurai carries with it an excellent swordsman endowed with composure and honor, the image of the ninja is characterized by his stealth techniques, creative weapons, and the reputation of infiltrating with perfection. Throughout history, many works of fiction have interpreted the image of ninjas, both in productions from Japan and abroad — even part of Bruce Wayne's training to become Batman comes from techniques and equipment typically used by ninjas. They are commonly set in ancient Japan or exiled clans that seem frozen in time, some contain touches of fantasy but often stick to realism. Related: All Naruto Arcs in Order Including Shippuden and Boruto One work of fiction started with the theme of ninjas, reinterpreted and applied in a fantasy world, but added its own rules,...

The original Japanese version of Ishiro Honda's kaiju classic "Gojira" -- previously bowdlerized by American translators as "Godzilla" -- wasn't released in American theaters until 2004 to coincide with the film's 50th anniversary. Up until then, American audiences had to content themselves with the 1956 film "Godzilla, King of the Monsters!," a heavily re-edited version of "Gojira" that included new scenes of actor Raymond Burr narrating the action. The footage was directed by Terry O. Morse.
When "Gojira" was finally released in 2004, not every critic was pleased. Most audiences accepted that Honda's film more or less birthed the kaiju genre, and established a persistent pop culture icon that persists to this day. Roger Ebert acknowledged that "Gojira" could be significant while also being completely shabby. He gave the film only one and a half stars, saying it was "idiotic." "Godzilla at times looks uncannily like a man in a lizard suit,...

Bleach is one of the Big Three of anime. Even though it did not reach the same popularity as Naruto and One Piece, it still played a crucial role in changing the course of the manga and anime industry for the better. Bleach revolves around Ichigo Kurosaki, who met a female shinigami, Rukia Kuchiki, and later became a substitute shinigami.
Tite Kubo did a great job with his magnum opus, but the fans always felt that the ending was rushed and could have been explored more. While most fans thought it was due to Shueisha forcing Kubo to wrap up the manga in a limited time, it was actually the mangaka who wanted the manga to end. The Thousand Year Blood War arc suffered a rushed ending.

Eiichiro Oda found both a friend and a direct competitor in the form of Masashi Kishimoto. One Piece has often taken inspiration from Naruto and vice versa. Letting go of hostility, a friendly competition was accepted between the two that let their works grow in fame as each chapter came out. Kishimoto’s work is one that has inspired many. Whether it is the heroes or the villains, even the powers; a lot can be found inspiring.

Masashi Kishimoto has never hesitated in bringing out the best of each character in Naruto. Each and every character has a sense of individuality whether by design or personality. Uniqueness is not something Naruto is short of and that shows from every angle. Even the characters that may not be as popular or often disliked are recognizable because of one or the other unique features.

Despite making such visually and emotionally appealing characters, there are moments when the mangaka falls short. While it is understandable to not be able to focus on each and every character because of the sheer number of them, it becomes questionable when one of those characters also happens to be one of the main ones.

The relationship between Sasuke and Sakura is one of the most debated topics in Naruto. Fans have always argued whether the two characters were right for each other or not. Nevertheless, Masashi Kishimoto was able to make it work, thanks to a piece of advice that he got from the editor of the series, Kosuke Yahagi.
Sasuke and Sakura
Sasuke and Sakura’s relationship is considered by many to be one of the most toxic relationships in the history of anime because of the way Sasuke treated Sakura. Because of his ambition to find his elder brother, Itachi Uchiha, Sasuke neglected, and even insulted, Sakura’s feelings to a great extent. Ultimately, when the series concluded, the two ended up together.
In 2014, Kishimoto revealed that he had no idea about how to proceed with the three protagonists of his magnum opus, but Yahagi helped him create the perfect scenario for Naruto,...

Masashi Kishimoto took it upon himself to create one of the big three shonen works. Naruto stands out in many ways and not just one. Each and every step he took with the series provided an extra set of fans to join in. No story starts off with a bang and maintains that pace without effort. It takes dedication, understanding, and flexibility to make something stand out in the way Naruto does.

Crossovers in anime are rare to find but just as appreciated. Works such as that of Naruto, Dragon Ball, and One Piece take up the lot to stand as perhaps the greatest in the anime industry. Crossovers for such are rare to find, most of which are unofficial or fanmade. However, the same cannot be said for an upcoming Netflix anime. One that makes many fans’ dreams come true.

Kagurabachi‘s Chihiro set himself apart from other Shonen heroes from the very first chapter. While most Shonen protagonists have an uplifting aura around them, Chihiro is the exact opposite.
Chapter 1 of Kagurabachi revealed Chihiro’s dark past, and it was abundantly clear that the character means business. Any distraction is simply not allowed, which is probably why the manga fetched such a high viewership rate as soon as it debuted.
In an interview, Kagurabachi’s author, Hokazono Takeru, talked in detail about how he created Chihiro and his story.

Every character in Dragon Ball has upgraded with time and adapted themselves to become an important part of the narrative, except for Yamcha. Yamcha might be the only major character from the beginning of the series who has been left behind in terms of strength, and Dragon Ball fans believe that he did not deserve this.
Yamcha – Dragon Ball
If Akira Toriyama wanted, he could have easily kept Yamcha relevant to the story as a secondary character like Krillin or Master Roshi, but he decided to take a different route and make him a comedic character who was only needed to introduce a joke in the story. Still, Yamcha had some achievements that made him a memorable character.
Dragon Ball fans might not know this, but Yamcha was once able to beat up a villain that even Goku couldn’t defeat. It was one of the rare moments where he...

Talking about the revenge aspect, Imamura said that Hokazono always aspired to “make a revenge story” and get serialized in Jump. The one shots that he had drawn before also had similar themes.
Simply put, the revenge genre was Hokazono’s favorite, thanks to his love for Western movies, especially those directed by Quentin Tarantino.
These movies, along with the recent John Wick instalments served as an inspiration for the author to craft the unique setting in Kagurabachi manga.

The release of the Dragon Ball Super manga changed a lot for the original Dragon Ball series by Akira Toriyama. Dragon Ball Super not only introduced some new aspects in the narrative, but it also gave a huge makeover to a lot of things from its prequel series. One of the biggest changes the series made was with the character Broly/Broli.
Broly – Dragon Ball Super
Broly was possibly the strongest Saiyan in the Dragon Ball Z franchise, but the biggest problem with the character was that he was non-canon. His appearance in the Z timeline did not feature any significant changes in the story. Anime and manga fans have always compared Luffy, Ichigo, and Naruto, the protagonists of “The Big Three”: One Piece, Bleach, and Naruto. While these comparisons primarily focus on the strengths and abilities of the characters, there are other aspects that fans need to consider while trying to prove which character is the better protagonist.
Luffy in One Piece (Credits: Toei Animation)
Although the stories of Ichigo and Naruto have ended in their respective series, Luffy still has a few years left. One Piece has just entered the final saga, and it gives Luffy a chance to prove that he is a better protagonist than Ichigo and Naruto. And there is one aspect of the narrative that could help him gain the title.
This aspect involves Luffy writing his own legacy. Unlike Ichigo and Naruto, Luffy does not follow in the footsteps of his father, and that’s what makes him unique.

Fullmetal Alchemist by Hiromu Arakawa and Dragon Ball by Akira Toriyama are two of the biggest names in the anime and manga world. The two series have inspired many mangakas and have been a source of entertainment for millions of fans. But what many people don’t know is that the two masterpieces share an interesting connection.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (2009)
The intriguing similarity between the two is that the mangakas of both series, Toriyama and Arakawa, drew inspiration from animals for their creations. A big part of Dragon Ball, The Great Ape, is inspired by monkeys, and in the case of Fullmetal Alchemist, the Law of Equivalent Exchange is inspired by Arakawa’s experience while working on the farm with animals.
Both creators have mentioned their love for animals and how it led to them creating some of the most inspirational manga in history.

In a recent interview with Men’s Non-No the producer of Bleach, Yoshihiko Tominaga, disclosed that Studio Pierrot is launching a new studio ‘Pierrot Films’.
By launching the new sub-brand, Studio Pierrot, known for long-running series like Naruto and Bleach, is making a strategic shift, acknowledging the evolving anime landscape and the growing demand for high-quality, shorter-season anime, a trend Pierrot hasn’t always embraced as effectively as other studios.
