The good Ole days
krishneelz11 February 2006
I remember when I used to switch on the T.V to watch 5 minutes of one of the greatest animations ever created. It doesn't only appeal to the young but also the old with it's complex yet simple plot. Although not evident it touches the surface of philosophy as it explores the world through innocent eyes of a fly. At times it brushes with your intellect seeing how small things for some can make a large impact to others and it also belittles our society as it shows that the fuss we make is almost always selfish without consideration of others. The fly explores our world physically but more evidently emotionally as it explores the simpler emotions of frustrations of life through small things such as not being able to sleep and happiness over a drop of orange soda. Unfortunately it is not to well known and maybe it's for the better that it is not being caught up in todays commercialism.

the adventures of a fly who easily gets into trouble
atomius7 July 2007
Warning: Spoilers
This show is about a nameless fly who, with his oddly round shaped body and human like face, gets into sticky situations with other, tougher insects. The plot is simple but often involves bizarre circumstances such as an insect bank and the inside of a dog. The animation is good in that it is simple but fun, a good filler show that doesn't try to be too emotional or serious. Worth watching if you like whats on next. The characters themselves are all insects or people and animals that have little say in proceedings. The best episodes involve the fly facing a challenge and coming to a conclusion that is amusing and having been through amusements to get there. The opening credits are pretty nice too, kept simple but with a nice feel of uncomplicated.

A buzzing tale of undeniable humor!
Theshapeshifter22 November 2005
This cartoon is simply brilliant. That much is clear. But the reason perhaps, that it is so good is because it has no words, and so all people from any corner of the Earth can understand it. The brilliance is in watching the little fly's next move in his day-to-day exploits. With that, there is also usage of gags from other cartoons done by the same creator. The usually short stories center on one little fly, who resembles a certain alien conqueror done by the short's creator, Lewis Trondheim. With the fly buzzing around in his adventures, he normally meets havoc by running into larger creatures of belligerent natures or meeting dilemmas which seem to have no resolution. But these are the challenges which make this cartoon worth watching. Simply put, this is a brilliant cartoon short. Its humor is fresh and the characters are well drawn for these shorts. While the episodes can get odd, it's that which makes them well worth watching.

5 minutes of fun on each chapter
occam-727 September 2006
Warning: Spoilers
On one of those days when I was flipping channels, bored to death, something caught my attention: a round black creature with large thin wings, big eyes, protruding teeth, a pair of red shoes and tiny hands.

I was instantly hooked! Each episode lasts for only 5 minutes, but you won't regret you spent your time watching them.

Things that are mundane and trivial to us become a source for adventure and fun for La Mouche, the main character of the show who is out to discover the world on its own terms. Forget about how old you are and just watch :) Only recently I've learned the different names for this cartoon around the world: Aventures d'une Mouche (the original), Fly Tales...

Currently Airing on XHIPN, Channel 11 in Mexico City. At first, the show was used as a time-fillers or bumper so other shows could begin on time, so I considered myself very lucky that day. Now however, it is being aired on a more regular schedule.

I wish all 65 episodes were available on DVD.

What a Cartoon
morrigan45613 June 2006
Absoluetly Wicked.....I love this cartoon.... Yeah its got its philosophy and it makes profound statements, its also absolutely hilarious, it used to show late night in the UK, five years on and I have only just found out it can be bought in Australia, very funny and very well written (yes i know there are no words, maybe i mean choreographed??). This cartoon has it all, its funny for kids and adults will watch one and want to watch them all. Lewis Trondheim hit a master stroke with this one and it really has not lost its innocence in the translation from comic strip to small screen. Please note that this cartoon is also called "Les Aventures d'une Mouche" in France, and "Moucha" in Czecheslovakia where I believe it is still aired.

Classic intermission
ThunderKing615 September 2021
This was more of an intermission show during the days of Teletoon. All it was about a fly getting into "sticky situations". That's it. What's not to like?

Animation was good, and the production was unique. This was no voice-overs it was just music and sound effects.

Last Words: Normally I kill flies. Although, this fly can live. It's a cool little show.
