We had learned about an interesting horror project earlier this month titled Wolf Night, a werewolf movie set to be directed by Jonathan Liebesman. The film has been compared to both District 9 and The Purge… with werewolves… and Deadline brings us a big update this week.
The hot Platinum Dunes package has been picked up by Screen Gems, Deadline informs us, with Michael Bay and Brad Fuller producing Wolf Night for Platinum Dunes.
Will Honley and April Maguire wrote the screenplay for Wolf Night, but aside from the comparisons to the aforementioned movies, the plot is under wraps at this time.
Jonathan Liebesman’s directorial credits over the years also include Rings (2005), The Killing Room (2009), Wrath of the Titans (2012), and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014).
Will Honley recently wrote Escape Room: Tournament of Champions.
Steven C. Miller’s Werewolves and Larry Fessenden’s Blackout are also headed our way this year,...

Warning: This article contains spoilers for series five of Ghosts
Somehow, the final series of Ghosts has neatly tied up all the show’s loose ends while still leaving us wanting more – which is a jolly good thing considering they’ve confirmed we’re getting one more Christmas special in December 2023.
They really packed a lot into those last six episodes, revealing the heartbreaking truth behind the deaths of Kitty and the Captain, showing Alison and Mike’s next step in life, and giving the whole gang the opportunity to say all the lovely, touching things fans wanted to hear (as well as adding a poignant reference to Mary in the opening credits).
Taking the characters on these final journeys involved lots of flashbacks and new faces, so let’s recap all the most important guest stars from series five:

There are literally hundreds of films and TV shows about or featuring King Arthur going back well over a century – there are silent films, musicals, animated films, comedies, dramas. You name it, there is a King-Arthur-themed version of it. There are not a small number of “Best of…” lists floating around the internet as well. But how do you know which of the recommendations is really going to scratch your King Arthur-shaped itch?
MGM+’s new series about King Arthur, The Winter King, is a combination of gritty historical fiction and “low” fantasy. It is also fairly grim and violent. But there are lots of different ways to tell a story about King Arthur and his knights, with or without round table, Merlin, the Lady of the Lake and so on. Here, we’ve rounded up a few of our favourite films and TV shows about or featuring King Arthur,...

Diablo 4‘s World Bosses are one of the game’s most traditional Mmorpg elements. These massive enemies can only be defeated by groups of players who must cooperate and coordinate to take them down and take them on. They’re some of the game’s most rewarding challenges, but figuring out when and where these bosses spawn has actually been the bigger challenge so far.
The bad news is that there is no easy way to quickly tell when and where a Diablo 4 World Boss will appear. Future updates may address that issue, but it’s definitely an issue at the moment. However, there are a few things you can do to greatly improve your odds of fighting World Bosses whenever and wherever they spawn next. Here’s what you need to know about that.

Katherine Langford has yet to miss in her young career.
The Australian actor already has a mighty impressive resume that includes two hit Netflix series, 13 Reasons Why and Cursed, as well as two esteemed films in Knives Out and Love, Simon. In her latest return to the screen, Langford stars in Brian Duffield’s Spontaneous, a high-concept sci-fi comedy that is currently registering a 97% score among Rotten Tomatoes critics.
Spontaneous focuses on Langford’s Mara and her budding relationship with Charlie Plummer’s Dylan. The catch is that their love story begins amid a rising pandemic involving spontaneously exploding teenagers at their high school. Even though the film was shot in early 2018, the film has direct parallels to the novel coronavirus pandemic, something none of the creatives could have seen coming.

Melbourne and Brisbane-based Continuance Pictures has launched a short film fund offering up to $10,000 per project for emerging filmmakers whose shorts would serve as concepts for feature films or TV series.
The aim is to create shorts that will screen at A-list film festivals and provide proof-of-concept for bigger productions.
Co-founded by Tristan Barr and David Gim, the production company hopes the Continue Short Film Initiative will result in more than 50 shorts over five years.
Barr says: “As a filmmaker there is nothing worse than receiving a rejection letter and not understanding why. Through this process the team at Continuance Pictures are attempting to provide feedback to applicants to build working relationships and ongoing opportunities for the future.”
Umbrella Entertainment, which is discussing several projects with Continuance, supports the initiative. Head of acquisitions Ari Harrison tells If: “We believe it’s a great idea. There are so many first-time directors...

A teaser has just been released from the pilot episode for a new paranormal comedy titled Cursed, from Head Above Water creator Connor Fairclough and award-winning producer Tristan Barr, that parodies the clichés and techniques typically found in the horror genre, similar in style to Shaun of the Dead. Shot with the intention of an online release, Cursed draws influence and satirises such horror films as The Conjuring, It, The Nun, and Annabelle.
The story follows Isaac (Kyle McCallion), who releases a curse on himself after fiddling with a Ouija Board one drunken night. Through each episode, he and his useless housemate Ned (Omar Al-Sobky) must deal with countless paranormal hauntings whilst managing their daily mundane lives.
Ever been interrupted by an interdimensional force of evil whilst on the toilet? Or had to take responsibility of a possessed doll when you haven’t even mastered personal responsibility? Had to distance...

Netflix has secured the rights to “John Henry and The Statesmen,” an original pitch from writer Tom Wheeler with Dwayne Johnson attached to star.
“Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” director Jake Kasdan is on board to helm. Netflix landed the rights after a heated bidding war that attracted many of the major studios. The film marks Johnson’s first feature at Netflix, another win for the streaming giant, which is already in production on projects with Mark Wahlberg and Ryan Reynolds.
“Netflix is the perfect partner and platform for us to continue entertaining our global audience in a disruptive way,” Johnson said. “These diverse characters speak to a legacy of storytelling that is more relevant than ever and span across a worldwide audience regardless of age, gender, race, or geography.”
Wheeler developed the pitch with Hiram Garcia, president of production at Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia’s Seven Bucks Productions.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson will helm murder-mystery movie Knives Out, starring James Bond himself, Daniel Craig.
Knives Out might sound like a reference to the fandom that started a social media maelstrom in reaction to Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but it's the title of a murder-mystery that will serve as director Rian Johnson’s follow-up to that $1.3 billion worldwide-grossing Star Wars Sequel Trilogy middle act movie. While that fact alone gives Knives Out a good amount of gravitas, the newly-announced project is already touting its star, James Bond himself, Daniel Craig, who will be joined by Captain America himself, Chris Evans! They will topline what's quickly becoming an incredible cast.
A surprise announcement at September's Toronto Film Festival of Rian Johnson’s written/directorial follow-up movie – and the casting of star Daniel Craig – was a proverbial airhorn designed to preemptively attract prospective bidders at the industry festivities.

Netflix has ordered a 10-episode, "Cursed" live-action TV series from "Sin City" creator Frank Miller, based on Miller's upcoming re-imagining of the 'King Arthur' legend, focusing on the 'Lady of the Lake':
"...'Nimue', is a teenage girl with a mysterious gift, destined to become the powerful 'Lady of the Lake'. After her mother’s death, she finds an unexpected partner in 'Arthur', a young mercenary, in a quest to find 'Merlin' and deliver an ancient sword. Over the course of her journey, Nimue will become a symbol of courage and rebellion against the terrifying 'Red Paladins', and their complicit 'King Uther'..."

Last week we learned that legendary comic book writer and artist Frank Miller would be developing an illustrated novel called Cursed, which is based on the King Arthur legend, Lady of the Lake. Well, Netflix has already picked up the rights to the book and they will be developing it as a 10-episode TV series.
Miller is working on the book with writer Thomas Wheeler (Lego: Ninjago Movie) and according to Deadline, the same creative team who are working on the book will also be working on the series simultaneously. Its said that they will actually get to explore the characters in more detail in the series than in the book. So... I guess I'll just wait for the series.

Exclusive: Netflix is taking on a key character from the King Arthur legend, Lady of the Lake. The Internet network has teamed with famed comic book writer/artist Frank Miller (Sin City) and writer/producer Tom Wheeler (Puss In Boots) for original drama series Cursed. Netflix has given a 10-episode order to the project, which will be based on Miller and Wheeler’s upcoming illustrated Ya book of the same name.
This is believed to be the first time the same creative team will be writing a book and TV series based on it simultaneously as they get to explore the characters from the book in more detail on screen.

Even if you don’t know the name of Kevin Williamson offhand, there are very strong odds that you’re familiar with his body of work in some fashion. For starters, he breathed new life into the teen slasher genre back in the 1990’s with the game-changer that was Scream and a franchise somewhat similar to it, that being I Know What You Did Last Summer.
In the time since, he’s kept busy by being one of the chief architects behind television series such as The Vampire Diaries and The Following, both of which were markedly different, but each had their own rabid fanbases. With that, it comes as no surprise that he still be in demand over in Hollywood.
According to Deadline, Williamson has signed “a new first-look pact to develop elevated genre film content” with Miramax. Of course, this wouldn’t limit him to horror, as he...
