Rebuttal to the negative comments concerning, In Search of Jesus
When watching the program, I was wondering how many naysayers were going to attempt to belittle Peter Jennings himself, simply because he was able to uncover evidence other than what we of many religions would rather blindly believe. He is certainly not a theologian but is a reputable and credible journalist nevertheless. I heard comments about how Mr. Jennings was trying to discredit Jesus, etc... When one searches for facts and/or answers from knowledgeable sources and simply relays this information to a fact-hungry society, it hardly warrants the accusation of trying to discredit another. People used to think the world was flat and would probably swear to it on their mother's grave. Even after discovering the the world was indeed round, the non-believers still refused to believe it. The same principle applies to our current invasion and occupation of Iraq. We were duped into thinking that we had a legitimate and valid reason to invade this nation when we had none at all. Even now, after the truth has come out... people refuse to accept it and choose to believe that our troops are being killed in the defense of our freedom and/or country. I suppose that ignorance truly is blissful and some confused people would just rather convince themselves of a false perception and hide their heads in the sands revealing the truth.
