Manole Marcus was a very good film director, he directed many well-made films, culminating with "The Actor and the Wild". "The Neighborhood of Joy" is his 4th feature film, a communist melodrama. Those who are particularly distinguished, achieving two memorable roles, are Olga Tudorache and Constantin Dinulescu, both in "negative" roles. The great Toma Caragiu, very young, has a stupid role as a communist activist worker. Jean Lorin Florescu, whom I met at the Little Theater, has a role exactly as he was in real life, a great self-sufficient arrogant.
