Jean-Luc Godard dedicated the film to John Cassavetes, Edgar G. Ulmer and Clint Eastwood.
About her nude scenes in this movie, Emmanuelle Seigner recalled that, "The first day Godard asked me to take off my bra, the second the panties. So I protested: 'Who did you take me for?' Finally Godard said: 'Keep your panties'. I was 17, I had no desire to appear naked in a movie."
Jean-Pierre Léaud and Johnny Hallyday did not get along on the set. When interviewed about his experience on the film, Léaud responded: "No, don't talk to me about that. I had problems with Johnny Hallyday. One evening I said to him, "A puddle could act better than you." He did not take it well. He called everybody, the producers, etc. And Jean-Luc [Godard] called me: "Why did you say that to him? He's furious."
