A interpretation of the suffering of the Partisan army
Nemanja_Gajic3 January 2005
At the end of January, in 1942. the First Proletarian brigade is surrounded by strong enemy forces on the Romanija mountain.Partisan headquarters brings a dangerous decision, only possible one. They should go near Sarajevo, over Igman mountain, towards the liberated Foca.

The Igman march was carried out during the night between 27. and 28. January, under the heavy snow and cold. That march became legendary, and forty frozen fighters were transfered to Foca hospital. There, they bravely endured superhuman pains during the amputation of frozen body parts without anesthesia or proper equipment...

Instead on fighting, the film is observing the recovery of injured partisans, which is at least as horrible and painful as combat.
