The film implies that Laurence Olivier was an unknown actor in America in 1939, but, in addition to his stage fame, he had already been in several American films, including (that very year) the huge success of "Wuthering Heights".
"The Scarlett O'Hara War" was part of a three-part miniseries titled "Moviola," based on the novel of the same name by author Garson Kanin. The other stories were "The Silent Lovers," starring Kristina Wayborn and Barry Bostwick as I'll-fated lovers Greta Garbo and John Gilbert, and "This Year's Blonde," starring Constance Forslund as an about-to-be-discovered Marilyn Monroe and Lloyd Bridges as her manager/lover Johnny Hyde.
George Cukor was greatly amused by the way he was depicted as nervous and subservient in the movie, where he is played by George Furth. The film makes no reference to the fact that Cukor was eventually fired from "Gone With The Wind".
