Conrad Bain and Gary Coleman appeared on the final episode of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (1990)" as Phillip Drummond and Arnold Jackson respectively, looking at the Banks mansion as they shop for new homes in Los Angeles.
During the sixth season, Dana Plato was written out of the series when she became pregnant. The producers felt that Plato's real life pregnancy could not be written into the series as it would be out of character for Kimberly Drummond to become pregnant. In the fifth season episode "Coming of Age", Kimberly decides to study abroad in Paris, France. After giving birth to her son Tyler in July 1984, Plato returned as a guest star until the series' end.
Arnold Jackson's question "Watchoo talkin' 'bout, Willis?" was ranked #17 in TV Guide's list of "TV's 20 Top Catchphrases" (21-27 August 2005 issue). It was never intended as a catchphrase; the writers simply made it so after the positive reaction to Gary Coleman's delivery in the premiere. After the show ended in 1985, Coleman has generally refused to say his iconic catchphrase. The only time where he uttered his catchphrase before his death in 2010 was in the "The Simpsons (1989)" episode Grift of the Magi.
Alan Thicke, who played Dr. Jason Seaver, the patriarch on the sitcom "Growing Pains (1985)," wrote and performed the series' memorable theme song.
Gary Coleman's parents actually took all of his money that he made from this show. By the time he sued his parents, they had no money left. Coleman ended up working as a security guard for the final years of his life.
