- When Big Al is called to the hospital for his heart transplant, things don't go as planned. Georgie runs into Brian and when she learns he's there to meet a (female) friend, she gets envious. She goes as far as to pretend to be a dying woman's niece to meet her. The son of a friend of Bea's who's also a patient of Charley's is brought in when he has a heart attack while playing basketball. And Sorenson runs into an ex whom he hasn't seen in nine months who's about to give birth, which makes Teddy nervous.
- Georgie presses ethics charges against Caspian; Beatrice gives Thomas Reed's medical bag to Charley; a piano teacher claims he's Roxie's father.
- Georgie stomps for some last minute votes as the election for councilperson draws near, while Frankie and Teddy quarrel over personal items that both want to keep. Meanwhile, Alex relentlessly tries to bag a wealthy new interior decorating client. The ladies, so occupied with their problems, don't realize that Beatrice suffers a heart attack and is rushed to the hospital.
- Frankie decides to convert and raise a Jewish family with Mitch, much to the shock of the family, especially the conservative Beatrice. Meanwhile, Teddy and Simon fight over how to run Teddy's new clothing factory and over McKinley working for the company. Also, Alex helps Reed and Kirby with moving into their new apartment and afterward takes them into her house after they are evicted.
- Teddy takes the law into her own hands after learning Falconer's killer has been freed; Alex and Beatrice end Truman's suffering.

Elsewhere, Beatrice meets Judge Truman Ventner after she is indited for drunk driving and shortly afterward, beings a relationship with him.
- Mitch gets into a dispute with a friend who takes a fall outside of Mitch's Store, and Beatrice, Georgie and Alex win the lottery.
