The Red Sea Film Festival awarded Ahmed Yassin Al Daradji’s “Hanging Gardens” the Golden Yusr for Best Feature Film, the top prize of the festival’s main competition. The film, which was also awarded the Silver Yusr for Best Cinematic Achievement for Duraid Munajim, was selected by a jury led by director Oliver Stone, who was not present at the ceremony but recorded a video introduction where he thanked the festival for the opportunity, calling the movies in competition “eye-opening.”
Other winners include Silver Yusr for Best Actor for Adam Bessa in “Harka,” Silver Yusr for Best Actress for Adila Bendimerad in “The Last Queen,” and Silver Yusr for Best Screenplay to Reza Jamali for “The Childless Village.”

Exclusive: Last night’s global fundraiser We for India, the virtual event formulated to support India’s Covid response, is being heralded as a major success having raised $5M to help the country’s fight against the devastating virus.
Notable film and music figures came together, including major names from the west such as Steven Spielberg and Mick Jagger, who offered special messages of support, and Annie Lennox and Ed Sheeran, who performed virtually. They were joined by a multitude of Indian stars including Ajay Devgn, Hrithik Roshan, Nagarjuna, Chiranjeevi, Rajkumar Hirani and Kabir Khan. Rajkummar Rao hosted the event.
The evening was live-streamed on Facebook and can still be watched on the platform. Organizers included Reliance Entertainment, GiveIndia, The World We Want and Facebook. In total, more than 100 entertainers, influencers and musical artists performed during the five hour+ event; the full list of participants is below.

Two legendary British groups have teamed up with one of Europe's up-and-coming multi-channel networks. Rock band Queen and sketch comedy troupe Monty Python have both partnered with Believe Entertainment, which specializes in rights management. Believe Entertainment is best know for working with musical clients, though it also provides management on YouTube and other online video channels. In Queen and Monty Python, it has found two groups whose works have been viewed tens of millions of times online. Believe will attempt to funnel those views through its clients' official channels, a process that Monty Python's YouTube page mocks.
