Benedict Cumberbatch, known for his versatility, took on a unique challenge while filming the Netflix series Eric. The psychological thriller follows Vincent, a troubled father whose son goes missing, leading him down a dark path. Set in 1980s New York, the story combines elements of fantasy and psychological drama. Benedict’s Unique Task In Eric, Cumberbatch not only portrays Vincent but also had to interact with a life-sized puppet named Eric. Two versions of Eric were designed: one resembling a Sesame Street-style character for children’s television and another more realistic version to ground Vincent’s hallucinations. Award-Winning Collaboration The show was brought...

One of the biggest intrigues of Bridgerton is the order in which the show chose to tell the stories of the siblings. While some viewers might have expected the show to go from oldest to youngest, it never did, starting with the love story of Daphne, the 4th of 8 siblings, which is exactly how Julia Quinn's novel series began.
Another logical approach would have been to follow the order of the books, and the show did that by continuing Anthony's story right after Daphne's. However, the order was changed again when the 4th book, Romancing Mr. Bridgerton, was adapted into the third season. Now that viewers are completely confused, all they can do is guess who's going to be next.

“Bridgerton” cordially invites you to the wedding of Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan). Or does it?
In the trailer for Season 3 – Part 2 of the smash hit Netflix series, Colin and Pen’s engagement is the talk of the town — but Penelope’s secret identity as the gossiping Lady Whistledown grows harder to silence by the minute. While lying to Colin eats away at her, there’s also Eloise (Claudia Jessie) to contend with, who issues an ultimatum: Pen must tell Colin the truth, or Eloise will do it herself.
Season 3 – Part 1 saw Colin and Penelope rekindle their friendship while helping her find a husband, only for a kiss to reveal Colin’s true feelings to himself. In the midseason finale, he tells Pen the truth before she can be betrothed to Lord Debling (Sam Phillips), culminating in the infamous carriage scene that arguably lit the internet on fire.

This article contains minor spoilers about the Netflix limited series “Eric.”
“I was excited by the prospect that the show was set in the 80s and him being both a Black and queer man, there would be a lot of him that would not be safe to share with the world,” shares McKinley Belcher III about what most appealed to him about his character Ledroit in the Netflix limited series “Eric.” The actor portrays an NYPD Missing Persons officer who investigates the disappearance of one of the show’s central characters, Edgar (Ivan Morris Howe). He says the character allowed him to “explore things that I’ve experienced in my own life” and was “a challenge.” Watch our exclusive video interview above.

Netflix’s Eric about a desperate father battling his own demons on the streets of 1980s New York as he searches for his missing nine-year-old son features Benedict Cumberbatch and a custom-made seven foot puppet, which is visible only to Cumberbatch’s character, the flawed Vincent. Abi Morgan’s six-part series ties together themes of belonging, addiction, loss and police brutality in a familiar setting. It was described as Sesame Street meets Taxi Driver by one British reviewer, although Sister creative chief Jane Featherstone compared it in scope and theme to Steven Spielberg’s Et.
Speaking exclusively to Deadline, Featherstone said the show is testament to the Chernobyl and This is Going to Hurt studio’s commitment to taking a talent-first approach.

It's hard to deny that when we watch period romances, historical accuracy is often left behind in favor of painting a pretty picture. Professionals in costume, hair, and makeup design do a wonderful job on every set, making the main characters the most attractive people you have ever seen. And Bridgerton is proud of this idea.
Instrumental covers aside, Bridgerton's famous glow up, also known on social media as the ‘Bridgerton Effect’, is a reason for the show to go viral every new season. While we don’t know who the lead for the upcoming fourth season will be just yet, some fans believe they’ve discovered a hint about the season’s central love story. Even though season 3 of Bridgerton premiered less than a week ago, the show has already gone viral again and destroyed the Netflix charts. There are many things that people find so fascinating about Bridgerton. Some enjoy the Regency fashion, others get caught up in the romantic tropes that each sibling's love story represents, and some are just there for the fun of the balls and the instrumental covers of modern songs.
The latter, for example, is exactly what made Bridgerton go viral again after season 3. And while the instrumental version of Pitbull’s hit Give Me Everything breaks all the charts thanks to Penelope and Colin’s romantic scene, there is one pop hit of the same era that has been banished from the season altogether.
Benedict and Lady Tilley’s Dance
While season 3, part 1 of Bridgerton wasn't particularly exciting for the second son of the family, Benedict, who did his best to avoid young debutantes, he did have some intriguing encounters with a strong-willed and open-minded widow, Lady Tilley Arnold.

Dearest readers: It’s Bridgerton Week at IndieWire. We’re celebrating the new season by diving deep on one of the best romance shows on TV.
The world of “Bridgerton” is no stranger to competition. Among London’s elite, wealthy debutantes and ambitious suitors vie for attention and supremacy on every level, from status and title to the very notion of a “diamond” — the best the season has to offer. What better way to celebrate the eagerly awaited Season 3 (Part 1 now streaming and Part 2 due June 13) than by revisiting past and previous diamonds?
Now that there are fully 20 of them out in the world, we decided to rank the best “Bridgerton” episodes, and to not overly favor any one season over another. A show doesn’t become an overnight popular horny period sensation without some certified bangers (pun intended), so we revisited Seasons 1 and 2 along with Season 3 – Part 1 to pull the greatest hits.

While Bridgerton is first and foremost a love story, the relationship between the siblings and their mother plays a very important role in each season. And although viewers have only seen the first 4 episodes of season 3, it is already apparent that the family bond plays a major role in the way each Bridgerton views the world.
Two characters who offer the most support and parental advice are Violet Bridgerton, the matriarch of the family, and her older son Anthony, who had to step into the role of viscount and find the strength to raise his siblings at the age of 18. However, there was another sibling who could have provided a lot of insight throughout the series, but has yet to appear.
Daphne Bridgerton, who is missing from season 3, is one of the show's weakest links.

While there is nothing more exciting than seeing your favorite TV show back with a new season after more than 2 years of waiting, Bridgerton fans' excitement has been somewhat spoiled by the way Season 3 has been handled so far.
Not to mention the Netflix split that will make fans wait another month to get the second part of the season, but it also seems like the showrunner as well as the writing team didn't listen to a single ounce of criticism that fans had for season 2. Now that season 3 is repeating the same mistakes, it feels like Bridgerton will never escape this repetitive cycle.

Cinema is full of classic stories, retold year after year in the traditional manner or reimagined by the daring ones. Whether it's adaptations of literary masterpieces, biopics, or other attempts to turn established archetypes on their heads, a spirit of rebellion is essential.
For lovers of the flair of Jane Austen's novels, Bridgerton is a real feast. London's high society and debutante balls all seem like a refuge for humble young ladies with dreams of marriage. In fact, just like in Austen's novels, revolutionaries still roam England during the Regency era.
In the Netflix series, this honorable role goes primarily to Eloise Bridgerton, the fifth child of the family, who never lets go of books and despises patriarchal foundations.
Claudia Jessie Shares Her Thoughts on a Queer Love Story for Eloise
We have yet to see Eloise's love story, as fans hope in season five – right after Benedict's.

To say that the new season of Bridgerton is one of the biggest events for Netflix this year would be an understatement. Given the show's popularity and the fact that it takes about two years to make another season, fans have already rushed to watch the first installment and share their thoughts on social media.
And even though the second part of the season has yet to be released and will only be released on June 13th, the first part made such an impression that it will be enough to keep the fandom talking for another month. Especially when it comes to all the theories about the season 4 arc.
Who Will Be Bridgerton Season 4 Lead?

Dearest readers: It’s Bridgerton Week at IndieWire. We’re celebrating the new season by diving deep on one of the best romance shows on TV.
[Editor’s note: The following interview contains spoilers for “Bridgerton” Season 3 – Part 1″ including the ending.]
Oh, my God.
The “Bridgerton” team absolutely heard some fans’ complaints about the lack of steamy scenes in Season 2. This time around, there is no such issue.
“It’s all about character,” showrunner Jess Brownell told IndieWire. “In Season 2, we had a lot of discussions about how much intimacy we wanted to see. And it had everything to do with the fact that Anthony is a very rigid and duty-bound character. His arc is about that rigidity. And so him just willy nilly having intimacy before marriage with someone wouldn’t make any sense. Penelope and Colin are not nearly as rigid as Anthony. So it was much easier to show more intimacy this season, and it is definitely a very steamy season.

Based on Julia Quinn’s Romancing Mister Bridgerton Season 3 of Netflix and Shondaland’s Bridgerton watches the friends-to-lovers romance between Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) bloom. While their book comes fourth in the series after Benedict’s love story, the show has moved their installment up in the order of Bridgerton sibling romances. Francesca’s (Hannah Dodd) love story also intertwines more significantly in the expanded two-part season, with Part 1 releasing May 16 on Netflix and Part 2 June 13.
Ahead of Season 3 Part 1’s launch, showrunner Jess Brownell, producer Shonda Rhimes and author Julia Quinn confirmed that an important scene in which Colin cuts his hand would feature in the show. This scene first sparks Colin’s more-than-platonic consideration of Penelope as she bandages his hand. She had been sneaking a look at his diary and reading his writing about his travels, and he gets angry with her,...

This season of Bridgerton shows the characters wrestling with old misconceptions, inconvenient new emotions, and even a hot air balloon.
Bridgerton Season 3 Episode 3 seems to pick up right where Episode 2 left off, with Colin Bridgerton standing once again in Penelope Featherington's nighttime garden.
This time, though, it is he who speaks first, confessing that he has been consumed by their first kiss and cannot rest without another.
Unfortunately, it's just a dream; Colin wakes from a sweat-drenched sleep in an empty bed.
There is still excitement to be had in the waking world, though. Preparations are underway for a hot air balloon exhibition that most of the ton will attend.
Before all of that commences, Penelope is surprised by a morning visit from Eloise, who wishes to apologize for her part in the rumor about Colin and Pen getting out.
Pen says there's nothing to forgive and invites Eloise to stay for a bit,...

It has been the longest of waits, Gentle Readers, but Bridgerton Season 3 is finally here!!
The smash Regency-set Netflix series returned May 16 in a dizzying thunder of carriage wheels that brought the ton back to London after a summer in the countryside, all refreshed and ready for the new debutante season with the Queen's next "diamond."
One dashing figure returned home by sea instead of land: a newly suave Colin Bridgerton apparently procured a swashbuckling long brown coat on his travels in addition to a marked dislike for sleeping alone.
In the chaotic swirl of activity before the Queen's court, we learn that the mysterious Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd) will wear the tall white feather for her debut that morning.
However, it seems she'd prefer to stay home playing the pianoforte.
This new-to-viewers Bridgerton sister has been in Bath for some time and is pleasant but distant when dealing with her boisterous family,...

When Bridgerton first broke through, it felt subversive. As sex has disappeared from film, Bridgerton featured some of the most intimate and erotic sequences on television. Placing this eroticism in a period drama gave the series a unique link. It immediately felt closer to Weathering Heights or Dangerous Liaisons. Now, after two seasons and a spin-off, the novelty has partially worn off. However, Season 3 of Bridgerton does not falter due to complacency. Rather, Shondaland and the showrunners overload the season. While Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton finally take the spotlight, their story sags under the weight of carrying more than a half-dozen subplots.

The dual natures of Penelope Featherington (Coughlan) have come to blows. The ton discusses her future as a spinster as she reaches her third season out in society.

[This story contains major spoilers from Bridgerton season three, Part 1.]
Bridgerton‘s third season has hit the Ton, and the final moments of the Part 1 release will have fans of the book and show alike on the edge of their seats, awaiting what comes next in Part 2.
Four episodes (and two seasons) of romantic buildup on the Netflix period drama between Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) culminates in the famous carriage scene from Julia Quinn’s novel Romancing Mr. Bridgerton (of which this season is based), where the two engage in a steamy makeout scene and make it to second base.
Before they know it, the carriage arrives at the Bridgerton family house, and they need a moment to figure out what to do. Colin steps out of the carriage and extends his hand toward Penelope. “Are you coming with me?” he asks. “What? Your family will see me,” she responds. “For God’s sake, Penelope Featherington.

Even though the Bridgerton fandom has 9 books on which to base their assumptions about the upcoming seasons, they are still left in the dark about some important details. Of course, as with any adaptation, the show's creators tend to make changes to the story to fit the new format.
From adding new characters to expand the ensemble storyline to cutting out the controversial scenes that don't hold up today and replacing them with something new, the changes are inevitable. And even though we haven't seen Benedict Bridgerton's full story yet, there are already some differences from the book series.
Who Will Play Sophie in Bridgerton?
In Benedict's book, An Offer From a Gentleman, Benedict ends up with his love interest named Sophie Beckett. Without giving away too many spoilers, the couple spends a few years before finally giving in to their feelings and ending all the back and forth.

Falling for a TV show is not exactly like falling for a romantic relationship. But it’s not unlike it, either. There’s the initial flirtation, when you sample an episode or two to see how it strikes you. If all goes well, there’s the moment of commitment, when you decide to stick around to see the story play out. Then there’s the long haul: With each successive season, the series has the opportunity to deepen and mature — or to stagnate.
With its third outing (fourth if you count the spinoff Queen Charlotte), Netflix’s Bridgerton is no longer in the early days of its courtship with us, and unfortunately, it’s starting to show. While the latest chapter faithfully delivers on everything we’ve come to expect from this world — virginal heroine, rakish hero, high-society scandal, instrumental pop covers — it’s also the first in which the...

With Bridgerton Season 3 ready to take the ballroom, you might be looking to revisit the Regency-era romance. Specifically Season 2, which aired in March 2022 and unlocks the love story of Viscount Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Miss Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley).
Over eight episodes, viewers witnessed the enemies-to-lovers journey of Anthony, a determined aristocrat, and Kate, the headstrong and loving sister of Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran). Although Anthony initially proposes to Edwina, it’s Kate he longs for.
As Anthony and Kate come to realize their undeniable connection, the rest of the Bridgerton family finds themselves in scandals and flirtations. Benedict (Luke Thompson) plays with the idea of art school. Colin (Luke Newton) returns from his travels abroad hungry for a purpose — and finds one by ousting the scheming Jack Featherington (Rupert Young) from the ton. Colin happens to save his “friend” Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) in the process.

It’s been over two years since we last heard from Lady Whistledown (voiced by Julie Andrews), but that ends on May 16, when Part 1 of Bridgerton Season 3 arrives on Netflix. The first four episodes will begin to unfold the love story of one Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan), aka “Polin,” perfect for springtime.
Penelope and Colin will step into the spotlight after hovering in the background of the love stories of Colin’s older siblings Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) in the first two seasons. While Season 2 followed Anthony’s enemies to lovers romance with one Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley), it also unspooled some threads with Bridgerton siblings Benedict (Luke Thompson) and Eloise (Claudia Jessie).

Bridgerton is one of Netflix's biggest hits – it follows eight sisters and brothers from the distinguished Bridgerton family as they desperately try to find love.
The first part of the third season will be released on May 16 and the second part on June 13. That means it's time to remember the original source – the novels by Julia Quinn. To prevent you from getting lost in a tangle of gossip and love affairs, we have arranged all the books in the correct order.

The first novel in the series tells of Daphne and the Duke of Hastings, as well as the Crown Prince, conspiracy and lots of gossip. In Daphne's story, the wedding was only the beginning, as the Duke hid something very important from his naive wife about his attitude towards his own family.

Dear Readers,
As the cast of Bridgerton celebrated the premiere of Season 3 at Alice Tully Hall, star Nicola Coughlan revealed what it was like for her to film intimate scenes with co-star Luke Newton.
The Netflix series Bridgerton, adapted from Historical Romance Novel author Julia Quinn’s books, has become a cultural phenomenon dominating drawing room conversations with each season’s premiere since 2020. Shonda Rhimes’ helmed series, which slightly diverges from the books set in whitewashed Regency-era London, has been praised for its unique blend of romance, wit, drama, and inclusivity.

Fans have been looking forward to Shondaland bringing more of Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton books to life on-screen. But we’d argue that few scenes are as anticipated as the Bridgerton family playing a brutally competitive game of pall mall. Season 2, inspired by Quinn’s second novel, The Viscount Who Loved Me, follows the story of eldest Bridgerton brother Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) as he seeks a wife. That brings him into the orbit of the social season’s latest diamond, Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran), her protective older sister, Kate (Simone Ashley), and her mother, Lady Mary (Shelley Conn).
The fan-favorite scene arrives in the third episode of the season, as the Bridgerton family retreats to their country estate, Aubrey Hall, to host their annual ball. Doctor Strange Director Reflects On Why Joaquin Phoenix Did Not Get The Marvel Role( Photo Credit – IMDb )
Benedict Cumberbatch is an accomplished actor whose fame increased after starring as Doctor Strange in the MCU. Things would have been different if Joaquin Phoenix had donned the Cloak of Levitation. The movie featured an ensemble of cast members, including Mads Mikkelson, Tilda Swinton, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
