The Lashman
Written and Directed by Cameron McCasland
Starring Stacey Dixon, Shawn C. Phillips, David Vaughn, Jeremy Jones, and Kaylee Williams
The Lashman has been making it's Festival run for a bit now, and has been getting some love. I will start by saying I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, but I know that the slasher film is my favorite sub-genre of horror, so I was excited to get a chance to check it out.
What McCasland, and Co., have constructed here is every bit a love letter to a specific time period in horror history. Films such as “The Town that Dreaded Sundown”, “Texas Chainsaw Massacre”, and “Friday the 13th” all came to mind, while viewing the movie. I have to admit here and now that this is not my favorite time period for horror. So to say that I...

Jason Hughes is a writer who wears many other hats. Besides writing books, the horror fan also works on screenplays, he is into special FX and even went to school on that, he screen prints and owns his own t-shirt company, impressive huh. One of my favorite highlights about Hughes is he has written a sequel to the movie Christine and I’d like to see that crazy car come back in his story, because it’s about time we see the Fury roll again! Check out my latest Versus with writer Jason Hughes.
Brian S- First off Jason, how'd you get into writing?
Jason Hughes- I've been writing since a very young age. Every since I basically knew how to write, I took Horror films and wrote a little short (about a page) story based on them. The Exorcist was my first film to "re-adapt" in a few paragraphs.

Stacey Dixon is a model/actress I come across that's every horror fan and movie geek's dream. I think I'm crushing! Yeah, I know I say this with every interview, but this time it's True, and I realize I also say that everytime too! Stacey has even worked as a makeup FX artist in the industry which is super cool! You can find her Facebook fan page right here. Stacey is working on some cool film projects right now and she and her team also have their Full Moon Fest coming up this next weekend. Check out my latest "Versus" with the very pretty and super cool Stacey Dixon.

Check out the teaser trailer for Cameron McCasland's The Lashman, starring YouTube sensation Coolduder aka Shawn C. Phillips. The film's premise is simple, five friends get killed while on a camping trip in the woods, but the charm comes from the low budget production that stars our good friend Lee Vervoort (Gun Town), Stacey Dixon (Thong Girl 4: The Body Electric), and David Chattam.

Know what we love about kids? No matter how many movies they see or how many times they've been warned, they will still always head out into the woods to go camping and then eventually get torn to bits by some malevolent force! It's natural selection at its finest!
