The Walking Dead will never die. The massively popular horror drama based on Robert Kirkman’s acclaimed comic series ended in 2022, but it lives on after death in your Netflix queue, where all 11 seasons are available to stream. The Walking Dead is set in a contemporary postapocalyptic America where an unexplainable virus has turned most people into undead, flesh-hungry monsters. For nine seasons, courageous but brutal former sheriff’s deputy Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) leads an ever-changing group of survivors as they try to stay alive long enough to build a better future. In the series’ final years, his family and friends try to carry out his vision in his absence.
The Walking Dead is a dark show filled with tragedy and violence, but it’s also life-affirming in its own particular way. Here are 15 essential episodes that show what The Walking Dead is all about: intense action, complex characters...

The Walking Dead (Twd), an AMC series, is full of gory, outrageous moments that viewers will probably remember for years to come. There has never been a shortage of mayhem on the long-running zombie series, thanks to Robert Kirkman’s vicious characters, the walkers, and all the societal and personal drama. And Norman Reedus, who played the role of Daryl Dixon, knows a thing or two about mayhem.
Reedus’ character, a skilled tracker from the South who lives in his older brother Merle’s (Michael Rooker) shadow, was first introduced in the first season. As fans grew to love him and his go-to weapon, a crossbow, he would go on to become one of the most beloved characters on the show.

Similar to other Twd characters, Daryl has had a few moments throughout the show where some viewers have winced or turned away.

It is not every day that one gets to witness the marvel of a universe getting built from the ground up and living to see its completion. Andrew Lincoln was there from Day 1 and he helped build the story up from Ground Zero. So for The Walking Dead patriarch, putting his back into the franchise for 14 long years seemed like enough for one lifetime.

As such, when fans began to relive the undead universe through the eyes of Rick and Michonne in The Ones Who Live, it was only natural to be curious as to how long this reunion would last before the other shoe dropped like an anvil before the audience’s very eyes.

The creator of The Walking Dead comics, Robert Kirkman may be a man of great imagination and invaluable talent but even legends like him often run into a roadblock in their creative journey. The resulting product often ends in a cul-de-sac that in hindsight looks as bleak as rain in the winters.

However, for Kirkman, the stars and moons aligned perfectly to ensure he fulfilled his destiny. So even though the comic genius served up a dose of X-Files-inspired drama along with his undead creation, in the end, it was his original vision that persevered and spawned a universe that is yet to die down in critical acclaim and fan frenzy.

The Walking Dead was a massive hit among fans when it first aired on AMC, and Frank Darabont was responsible for overseeing the project and making sure the story comes to life on the small screen. As a veteran horror film director and avid fan of the source material, he helped launch the franchise.

Unfortunately, he and AMC did not see eye to eye which ended up with him getting fired from the show. Just before the second season wrapped up, the showrunner was terminated. The word was that he found difficulty working on TV sets as he’s more used to films.

1954's "The Creature From The Black Lagoon" was the last gasp of Universal Pictures' black-and-white horror heyday. Pivoting away from literary adaptations towards something more resembling contemporary man-in-suit monster movies, "Black Lagoon" introduced one last staple of the Universal Monster line-up: The Gill-man. A missing link in the evolutionary chain, the amphibian man has the same mix of terror and lovelorn pathos as his monstrous brethren.
It's not quite the pop-culture staple that "Dracula" and "Frankenstein" are, but "The Creature From The Black Lagoon" has been reimagined many times (most famously in 2017 with Guillermo del Toro's Best Picture-winning oddball romance "The Shape of Water" — it was almost black-and-white like "Black Lagoon" too). Now a new comic book starring the Gill-Man comes forth from Skybound Entertainment, boasting a title that belongs to a forgotten Universal Horror picture: "The Creature From The Black Lagoon Lives!"
Skybound isn't just revitalizing "The Transformers" and "G.I. Joe.

Matthew Kic and Mike Sorce, rising scribes who have twice had scripts on the Black List, have been tapped to pen the screenplay for what is intended to be a live-action feature.
Aron Levitz, David Madden and Jason Goldberg will produce for Wattpad Webtoon. Robert Kirkman, David Alpert and Rick Jacobs are producing the film via Skybound. Skybound’s Fred D. Lee will oversee the project.
The story centers on a young woman named Lily who moves into the only place she can afford, a haunted apartment. She soon discovers that the so-called ghost occupying the house isn’t a paranormal apparition, but rather a man from another dimension, and before you know it,...

Those of you wanting a game based off of Image Comics and “The Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman’s Prime Video series “Invincble” may get your wish. Skybound Entertainment, has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Republic in order to develop a Aaa game based on Invincible.
According to the campaign, Skybound is seeking $5 million to develop the first in-house Aaa game based on Invincible. The Invincible game will be developed under the direction of a new in-house 30-person studio made up of veterans from EA, Activision Blizzard, and Amazon Games. Could Invincible be getting more seasons on Prime Video? According to Skybound Republic, an investment/crowdfunding site that allows fans to invest in the label, more episodes of the ultra-violent comic book action series are coming. In a since-deleted portion of the webpage, the site said Invincible Season 3 is in production, while the show had been renewed for Seasons 4 and 5. The webpage promotes a video game set in the Invincible universe, which fans can help fund. The crowdfunded project sits at $442,700 as of this posting, with 14 days to go in the campaign.
A portion of the mission statement for the campaign describes why making a video based on a licensed property causes some problems:
“Most crowdfunded video games are centered around indie games, and retail investors rarely have the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of Aaa game publishers. Skybound is developing a highly produced, high-octane blood bath that is anything but indie.

"Invincible" season 2 just wrapped (read our review here). While the long gap after season 1 slowed down the excitement, the second season kept the show's quality soaring higher than a Viltrumite.
"Invincible" may stream on Prime Video, but its origin story lies at Image Comics. Image was founded in 1992 as counter-programming to the Marvel/DC comics duopoly; the founders included '90s comic superstars like Rob Liefeld, Todd McFarlane, and Jim Lee (the man who rebranded the X-Men for the '90s). The "I" on Invincible's costume? It doesn't just stand for "Invincible," but "Image" too.
At Marvel and DC, the publishers own the characters and cycle out writers/artists at the popular ones. Image, on the other hand, specializes in creator-owned comics where writers and artists retain authority. That's why "Invincible" was personally created by Robert Kirkman, author of the comics. There’s no doubt that Invincible, the superhero series from the mind of Robert Kirkman, borrows a lot from other beloved franchises in the same genre. The biggest similarity would be how Omni-Man resembles Superman in many ways and how the Guardians of the Globe are another version of the Justice League or the Avengers.
The popularity of the comics and animated series has brought it into the cultural spotlight, with Omni-Man even making an appearance on Fortnite as a playable character. Now, we have a mod that brings another character from the series to a game filled with sticky situations.

The Invincible animated series recently wrapped up its second season, which continues to explore the conflict between Mark Gryason and the Viltrum Empire. The second season, similar to the comics, expands upon Omni-Man’s prophecy for his son, which predicts he will outlive most of his friends and family.

The iconic 2021 Amazon series Invincible can be dialed down in simple terms, as a kid having daddy issues. Except, his father is a psycho superhero, and he is a superhero, and they are both Viltrumites. But yeah, that’s pretty much the most dialed-down gist of the series.
We’re kidding. Of course, the series has much more depth to it than stated above and has multiple characters with spectacular storylines. Regardless, as per this theory, Mark Grayson might not be able to beat all the Viltrumites, but there is another superhero who can!
J. K. Simmons’ Omni-Man and Steven Yeun’s Invincible Mark Grayson May Not Be Strong Enough For The Viltrumites!
So to sum up the story of Invincible, we might have to face some superhero traumas alongside some daddy issues. To start off, Omni-Man (voiced by J.K. Simmons) is an alien from the race Viltrumites. That’s why he’s so powerful.

Invincible ended its second season with a bang. In the classic Multiverse of Madness-style, there is an entire sequence where Mark is thrown from one universe to another, each having some or the other Easter egg. From Spider-Man showing up in the form of Agent Spider, who was fighting Prof. Ock, to Invincible making fun of Batman’s name on a rooftop, this part of the episode was fun, to say the least.

On top of these references, there was also a universe plagued with zombies, making a not-so-subtle nod to just how many people from The Walking Dead are a part of the series. One would assume that one of these three cameos would be favored by the show’s creator, Robert Kirkman. However, it would seem that something else had him a lot more excited; a split-second cameo of a gun.

With Invincible Season 2 having come to a close, you may be eager to learn what happens next. Luckily, the comics have all the answers.
Over its first two seasons, the Amazon Prime Video show has proven to be a faithful adaptation of the Invincible comics — relatively unsurprising, given Robert Kirkman's positions at the helm of both.
Produced by Image Comics, the main line of Invincible comics ran for 144 issues, from January 2003-February 2018.

The popular Amazon Prime animated series Invincible just had its Season 2 Finale. The series, which is a mature-rated deconstruction of the superhero genre, focuses on a young adult hero trying to find a place in a world full of ever-growing threats, including his own family. But during the finale, there was one moment that many fans were hoping to see, but they were rather let down when it wasn’t exactly what they wanted.
In the episode, Invincible was battling the villain Angstrom Levy, who saw the hero through various multiverse portals to try and eliminate him. The issue this story was based on was Issue #33. That issue is notable because we see Invincible get sent to the Marvel Universe and run into Spider-Man and Doc Ock. Invincible would return back through another portal, but we would see what happens in their meet-up in Marvel Team-Up #14, which featured the two...

Invincible is having a great run as an animated series, produced by Seth Rogen under Amazon Studios. The show recently wrapped up its second season, one that ended with a bang. However, there are a lot of things that had to change for the adaptation of the comic, specifically because of how many characters from other IPs it featured in its source material.
Invincible (2021-present)
While comics created under the Image Comics label are owned by their respective creators, the characters do share a world with other IPs, and often crossover with each other during major events. Given that an Invincible live-action film is in the works, it is completely possible that Invincible could kick off a shared Image Comics universe, that could bring to the screen a host of beloved characters.

Sometimes a fandom can get, let’s say, ahead of themselves. A certain rumor will take hold with only the flimsiest evidence to back it up and before you know it, every single character on WandaVision is Mephisto (our bad on that one).
At first glance, that appeared to be the case with the second season of Amazon Prime Video’s Invincible. Shortly before Invincible season 2 premiered in late 2023 (and then again in early 2024), fans of the series and the Robert Kirkman comic upon which it is based became convinced that none other than Spider-Man would be appearing in an upcoming episode. And in said fans’ defense, the evidence was actually pretty compelling.

One of the biggest avenues of superhero entertainment might still be the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but one of the most popular and hyped-up has to go to Prime Video’s shows like Invincible and The Boys, which has captured the public eye and glued them to their platform.

It must be noted that Allen was intercepted by the Viltrumites as he was returning to the Coalition of Planets from Earth, right after scanning Nolan’s books that reveal Viltrumites’ weaknesses.

It appears Ezra Miller was quietly recast as mad scientist D.A. Sinclair in Season 2 of Prime Video’s Invincible.
Miller voiced the character in one episode in the first season of the adult animated series, but when Sinclair appeared in the March 28th episode, the character was voiced by Eric Bauza.
Deadline has reached out to Prime Video for comment.
Miller, embattled star of The Flash and Fantastic Beasts, has been embroiled in multiple scandals. Last year, they pleaded guilty to unlawful trespassing in a burglary case in Vermont after cutting a plea deal ahead of the hearing. In 2022, Miller agreed to mental health treatment after a string of run-ins with the law.
Based on the Skybound/Image comic, from The Walking Dead’s Robert Kirkman, Invincible revolves around 18-year-old Mark Grayson, voiced by Steven Yeun, who’s just like every other guy his...

The Walking Dead is over, but like the zombies at the heart (er, brains?) of the tale, the franchise lives on.
Clocking in at 11 seasons and 177 episodes all told, the AMC horror drama shuffled off into the afterlife, only to birth a bevy of spinoff shows, most of which center on beloved characters from the original series like the Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) reunion series The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. Beyond those continuing adventures, there are also the spinoffs without too many overt ties to the “flagship” Walking Dead, including the very first of these spinoffs, Fear the Walking Dead (also now in the grave, joined there by the two-seasons-and-out The Walking Dead: World Beyond and single season anthology series Tales of the Walking Dead).
Why the veritable Wikipedia entry? Because it highlights this central feature across all of the various Walking Deads: there are...

Marvel and DC fans have been waiting for someday when finally the worlds of Superman and Iron Man may collide. Although such a crossover sounds far-fetched, it looks like another prominent superhero IP, Invincible may pull off a similar stunt. This is speculated as recently The Spectacular Spider-Man fame Josh Keaton teased his appearance in Invincible Season 2.
