Fox could be closing the book on 9-1-1: Lone Star.
The successful 9-1-1 spinoff has been off the air for over a year and will return with a 12-episode fifth season in the fall.
If the latest report from Deadline is to be believed, the show’s future beyond that doesn’t look very bright.
The outlet states that the cast will be looking for other jobs when production wraps on 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5 next month.
Moreover, Sierra McClain, who has played Grace Ryder since the drama’s 2020 debut, will not return.
Details about what went on behind the scenes have been kept under wraps, but the outlet hints that the cast had been trying to negotiate deals that included raises for Season 5.

As Fox Entertainment CEO Rob Wade told Deadline last month, the network had been hoping to make a renewal decision after they see how Season 5 of 9-1-1: Lone Star does this fall. That likely won’t be possible.

Fox procedural “9-1-1: Lone Star” has been pushed back until Fall 2024, a spokesperson for the network told TheWrap.
As the broadcast networks continue to feel the impact of the Hollywood double strike this summer, the fifth installment of the Rob Lowe-led drama is set to consist of 12 episodes. Despite the rescue show’s success throughout its airing, producing a full season was not possible coming out of the work stoppage, which shut down virtually every ongoing production, according to an individual with knowledge of Season 5 logistics.
As “9-1-1: Lone Star” rolls out its fifth season during the 2024-25 season, it will air alongside new dramas “Doc,” which is co-produced by Sony Pictures Television, and John Wells’ “Rescue: Hi-Surf,” which is co-produced by Warner Bros. Television. Both “Doc” and “Rescue: Hi-Surf” were previously pushed to premiere in the 2024 fall season due to residual impacts of the labor dispute.

Exclusive: Fox’s 2023-2024 schedule will not include the network’s two highest-rated drama series of 2022-23.
The move of flagship 9-1-1 to ABC was announced in May. Now its spinoff, 9-1-1: Lone Star, which was renewed for a fifth season by Fox in May, will not return with new episodes this spring. Instead, the drama starring Rob Lowe will produce 12 episodes to air in fall 2024, making fans’ wait for Season 5 extra long.
Like any other linear or streaming series, 9-1-1: Lone Star has been impacted by the double Hollywood strikes. Earlier this fall, Fox and producing studio 20th Television had been discussing an 18-episode order — six episodes for midseason — and 12 for fall, sources said. As the SAG-AFTRA strike stretched into November, those plans changed, and the two sides ultimately agreed on 12 episodes for fall 2024.

Fox is bringing in some repeats of 9-1-1: Lone Star to its fall schedule as it tries to remind viewers that scripted drama still has a place on broadcast TV amid the writers and actors strikes.

Season 4 of 9-1-1: Lone Star will air starting on Tuesday September 19 at 9 pm, after season 3 of Name That Tune.

That's a key factor these days, as ad-supported viewing declines. Will 9-1-1: Lone Star be cancelled or renewed for season five? Stay tuned. *Status Update Below.

There will still be one 9-1-1 series on Fox in the fall. The network has renewed 9-1-1: Lone Star for its fifth season. This news comes just a couple weeks ahead of the two-hour Season 4 finale on Tuesday, May 16. However, Fox has canceled the original series; the good news is that 9-1-1 will be moving to ABC for its seventh season. 9-1-1: Lone Star, a spinoff, premiered in 2020. There hasn’t been much crossover between it and the original series — and this move suggests we shouldn’t expect much, if any moving forward — but Oliver Stark, Aisha Hinds, and Ryan Guzman did guest star on Lone Star in its second season while the 126 was among the firehouses battling a wildfire in Austin. 9-1-1‘s Angela Bassett then also appeared — via phone calls — in a Season 3 episode. Lone Star‘s cast includes Rob Lowe, Gina Torres,...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 4 Episode 14, “Tongues Out.”] When women at church gossip about Tommy (Gina Torres) and Trevor’s (D.B. Woodside) relationship on 9-1-1: Lone Star, the paramedic takes matters into her own hands. In “Tongues Out,” Grace (Sierra McClain) is the one to alert Tommy to what’s being said, and when Trevor finds out, he’s worried; nasty rumors are why he had to leave Kansas, and he has to think of his daughter. At first, Tommy begins thinking about finding another church, but in the end, she instead steps up in mass to give the reading because she feels the Holy Spirit calling — and uses it to put the gossipers in their place before calling them out. She refuses to be ashamed and driven from the church. Trevor’s reaction? He kisses her and tells her he loves her. Torres breaks down that ending and teases what’...

9-1-1 took a surprisingly romantic (yet somehow completely unromantic) turn on Monday, setting the stage for a major milestone within the 118.
Enough beating around the bush, Chimney and Maddie might finally be getting married! Following a little snafu with the IRS — they both identified themselves as the head of their household, and they both claimed baby Jee-Yun as a dependent, leading to a stressful audit — the couple was given some potentially life-changing advice by an agent: “Next year, before you file… get married.”

One of the stars of Fox’s Call Me Kat is getting candid about his sobriety struggles, hoping his story may be able to help someone navigating a similar situation.
“Vulnerable is what I’m feeling today,” Cheyenne Jackson wrote in an Instagram post on Monday. “After nearly a decade of sobriety I fell off the wagon. I’ve been carrying a lot of shame. Scared to share it. But I know it can help someone so here I go. I didn’t want to disappoint anyone who has looked up to me as a sober person so I’ve been just burying it away.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 4 Episode 13 “Open.”] It was in Season 2 that Grace (Sierra McClain), thanks to a call her husband Judd (Jim Parrack) was on, learned her father cheated on her mother. It’s now in Season 4 of 9-1-1: Lone Star that the family actually talks about it. And since this is a drama, it of course all comes out in the worst way possible. Grace reluctantly agrees to let her parents babysit Charlie, only for her father to have a heart attack as they are. (He’ll recover.) And it’s in the hospital that Grace discovers her dad told her mom everything. But now, they can start healing. McClain takes us inside this episode and teases what’s ahead. Back in Season 2, was there anything you’d wanted to see when Grace’s father’s infidelity came up again that was part of this script? Sierra McClain: Yes, her ...

Two takeaways are we are not worthy of Sierra McClain, and Owen has one of the absolute worst love lives ever.
Given the mixed feelings about the Nazi biker terrorist storyline at the forefront of the season, Owen learning by the end of 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 4 Episode 13 that his girlfriend could have murdered her husband to be with him is a bold and potentially polarizing choice.
But the hour also warmed the cockles of our hearts by briefly reuniting the McClain sisters onscreen to sing angelically as our beloved Grace finally had a more evolved arc this season.
We kicked the hour off with a wild emergency call, and those are among the things that one misses the most this season. It's been light on the calls, but they're nothing short of entertaining when we get them.

It's no secret that we're already excited about an all-new episode of 9-1-1: Lone Star!
It's Grace's turn for a storyline. They've already teased some family strife and our first introduction to Grace's sisters, featuring Sierra McClain's very own sisters, Lauryn and China McClain, on 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 4 Episode 13.
But it won't be solely family drama to contend with for Grace, as we'll definitely see her serving up her particular brand of genius and calm in the storm as a dispatcher.
And let's just say this one call she gets will leave you tongue-tied.
Seriously, it's anyone's worst nightmare if they're allergic to anything, and it's one of the series' most bizarre instances yet.
TV Fanatic was fortunate enough to score an exclusive clip of tonight's brand-new episode, and it'll leave you talking, not to mention grateful that you can actually speak in the first place.

Finally, we're getting some Grace content, you guys!
Grace Ryder is really the heart of the series, and it's been long overdue for the season to give her a meaty storyline or at least pick up one from her past.
And thankfully, 9-1-1 Lone Star Season 4 Episode 13 will deliver on that as we check back in with Grace's family, including her parents and previously unseen sisters.
Much of 9-1-1 Lone Star Season 4 has scaled back on the emergencies and the calls that the teams have been dispatched to in favor of providing us with more personal arcs and insight into the various characters off the job as much as on it.
It's been a polarizing decision with mixed results, but no one can deny how great it is when they've taken time to delve deeper into characters, especially those of whom we haven't learned much about over the years.
