It doesn’t feel like Tuesday nights without Will Trent. We miss it already.
It’s only been a few days since the Will Trent Season 2 finale, which will leave fans talking for months.
Many significant moments could change the storyline arcs for Season 3, ranging from Will arresting Angie to Gina threatening to divorce Michael and wanting custody of the kids.
Before we discuss the storylines, let’s discuss how the long hiatus could affect the series. In theory, Will Trent has always been a midseason show with around 13 episodes.
However, ABC renewed Will Trent with 18 episodes, hoping to play the series from January to May. In theory, it seemed like a realistic idea, but when they ended Season 2 on such a massive cliffhanger, fans wanted it to return as soon as possible.
The chatter will die down after a while, so waiting until January wasn’t wise after that controversial episode.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation Special Agent Will Trent (Ramon Rodriguez) started Season 2 with a case that involved a flirtation with bomb tech Cricket Dawson (Susan Kelechi Watson), who later sacrificed her life to save him and others from a deadly explosion. The shocking loss stunned and saddened Trent, but as Rodriguez says, Will is able to “compartmentalize all the things that he’s dealing with in his life.” Looks like that will be a tough order this season, not just for Will but for his colleagues in the Atlanta-set crime show. Will’s top concern is figuring out his dad’s identity. Too bad the person who thinks he should be getting a Father’s Day card is serial killer James Ulster (Greg Germann), whom Will broke down and visited in prison at the end of the season premiere. “Will doesn’t want to interact with him much, but Ulster...

Will's past returned to haunt him as he lost someone he cared about.
On Will Trent Season 2 Episode 1, Will still struggled with learning that James Ulster murdered his birth mother, who he never got to meet. He's still learning who to rely on when asked to lead a car bombing investigation.
The season opener delivered the best of both worlds -- helping people in danger and tying the case-of-the-week back to the lead characters' lives. The car bombing affected Will and Michael the most, and it's exciting that we get to delve more into their interpersonal lives.
Will has always been a loner, so it wasn't surprising that he didn't confide in Amanda or Faith that he wanted to learn Spanish to feel closer to his late mother. He almost seemed to resent Amanda calling him about work during that time off.
It was entertaining that the series threw back...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Will Trent, Season 2, Episode 1, “Me Llamo Will Trent.”] Will Trent is back after a tumultuous Season 1 finale. But is everything back to normal? It certainly seems to be, as Season 2 opens very much like the pilot episode, with the titular detective (Ramón Rodríguez) once again holding his doggie Betty with a relatively calm disposition. All this, despite the recent revelation of his long-lost mother and possible father, serial killer James Ulster (Greg Germann). However, newcomer and bomb expert Cricket’s (played by special guest Susan Kelechi Watson) admiration for Trent has them both distracted as they work together. They both agree to go out on a date, and things are looking up for Trent, as his disassociation, as pointed out by Ulster’s kidnapping victim and Will’s co-worker Angie (Erika Christensen), is seemingly paying off. That is until a serial bomber takes the life of Cricket, and all his grief ...

Giancarlo Esposito is taking over the male lead in Netflix’s Shondaland drama The Residence following the passing of Andre Braugher.
Braugher, who died Dec. 11 following a battle with lung cancer, was tapped last February to be the male lead on Netflix’s Shonda Rhimes drama The Residence, starring opposite Uzo Aduba. The White House murder-mystery started production before shutting down amid Hollywood’s dual strikes. Braugher had already completed filming a lot of his scenes on the series, which was scheduled to resume filming last month January. Esposito’s casting means the scenes Braugher had filmed will be reshot on the drama from showrunner Paul William Davies (Scandal), which has continued production amid the recasting.
Here’s the official logline for The Residence, per Netflix: “132 rooms. 157 suspects. One dead body. One wildly eccentric detective. One disastrous State Dinner. The Residence is a screwball whodunnit set in the upstairs, downstairs...

The entertainment world was recently dealt a heartbreaking blow with beloved actor Andre Braugher passing away unexpectedly at the age of 61. Braugher was best known for his roles on shows like "Homicide: Life on the Street" and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine." Before the actor's passing, he had been working on a new TV show for Netflix called "The Residence." It will now serve as the actor's final project. Much remains in flux, but we know quite a bit about the show already.

The late Andre Braugher’s now-final project — Shondaland’s comedic murder-mystery The Residence — remains unfinished thanks to a shut down sparked by the WGA strike months prior. Although the series had been gearing up to resume production, Braugher’s death Tuesday raises significant questions for the Netflix series’ future.
Four episodes of its eight-episode order were shot during the early days of the writers strike more than six months ago, Deadline reports. While the series is slated to resume shooting Jan. 2, it’s unclear if that date will stick, as producers must now figure out how to proceed without the actor.
