Do you know what we don’t get enough in movies? Vehicle-based heists. I jest of course but Overhaul (originally titled Cargo Maxima in its native Brazil) feels very much like yet another entry in the Fast & Furious franchise… Well, before it dropped the “and the” from the title! Yes, this is a throwback to the more basic, less “out of this world” antics of the early Vin Diesel films, when it was all about the car racing/cop chase action rather than unbelievable superhero-esque antics of Dom and co. in the more recent franchise entries.
The plot is pretty simple. Truck racer – yes you read that right – Truck racer, Roger Matos (Thiago Martins) is suffering in both his personal and professional life and when his father dies...

Paris Hilton has spoken about feeling judged by Pink following the release of the singer’s “Stupid Girls” music video.
In 2003, the reality TV stars was the subject of the leak of an intimate tape she’d filmed with her then-boyfriend, Rick Salomon. The tape was filmed when she was 19, with Salomon going on to sell a longer version of the tape in 2004.
Pink parodied Hilton in the music video for her 2006 song “Stupid Girls”, in which the musician is shown in bed with a man in shots similar to the sex tape.
Writing in her new book Paris: The Memoir, Hilton says that she was pressured into filming the sex tape, yet had felt shamed and unsupported by Pink, who she’d always thought of as “generous, evolved, and progressive” (via The Hollywood Reporter).

Despite the 10 films under the "Fast & Furious" banner — each at varying levels of quality — the franchise's first sequel, "2 Fast 2 Furious," is still something of a black sheep within the saga. A lot of it has to do with the wild change in locale, which pivoted from Dominic Toretto's (Vin Diesel) Nos-fueled thieving in Los Angeles to follow the street racing scene in Miami with Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker). Compared to the grounded thrills of its predecessor — and the American muscle that supported a lot of that action — "2 Fast" felt like a completely different world. Fortunately, director John Singleton wasted absolutely no time immersing us in that world and introducing audiences to the custom-painted imports, campy Y2K threads, and memorable characters that lived in it.

“Ride or die.” Those words only appear a few times in the franchise – most famously out of Vin Diesel’s gravelly baritone in Fast & Furious 6 – but they have become the personal motto for how this franchise has continued, grown, succeeded and become greater with each film. Today, Furious 7, the latest in the series will be released, and it’s a mark of achievement not only that they’ve made it to seven films, but that it only feels exciting for a seventh film about criminals racing cars to be released. The Fast and the Furious franchise is unlike any franchise out there right now, as it has evolved from perfectly adequate popcorn films about criminals racing cars to superb and exhilarating blockbuster action films. No other franchise can say that they only began to hit their creative stride with the fifth film. To understand how we arrived at this point though,...

Wolverine actress Rila Fukushima will play Tatsu Yamashiro in the forthcoming Arrow…

Having already played Yukio, a deadly assassin/ precognative mutant, in The Wolverine, Fukushima is now jumping ships from the X-Men series to the DC televisual universe.
She will play Tatsu Yamashiro, "a Japanese martials arts expert who wields a deadly sword" - a role which certainly suits her skillset. Her character will also have the codename Katana, inspired by her weapon of choice.
Fukushima replaces Devon Aoki, who you may have heard was originally cast in the role before a scheduling conflict arose.
It’s believed that Tatsu will mainly appear in the flashback sequences that pop up throughout Arrow, as a key inspiration to the younger Oliver Queen.

In 2005 we were given the gift of the beautiful, graphic, black, white and bloody violent good time known as Sin City. People clamored for more, and Hollywood listened... eventually. Just less than a decade later, we have Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Now we can get on with this week's Film Face-off of Sin City versus Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, which we'll now just refer to as A Dame to Kill For. The Dames Sin City Nancy Callahan (Jessica Alba) strips, Goldie and Wendy (Jaime King) are twins, Shellie (Brittany Murphy) and Becky (Alexis Bledel) are annoying, Miho (Devon Aoki) cuts, Lucille (Carla Gugino) is fetching, and Gail (Rosario Dawson) likes her outfits. A Dame to Kill For Nancy still...

Arrow, starring Stephen Amell, is The CW's most watched television program at 3.9 million viewers. With Grant Gustin, introduced in Season 2 as Barry Allen a.k.a.. The Flash, seemingly poised to become just as popular as Amell, it's probably fair to ask - What other superheroes and super villains introduced on Arrow are deserving of their own spinoff? Is a Huntress spinoff starring Jessica de Gouw a good idea? Would a Suicide Squad show, starring Amanda Waller (Cynthia Addai-Robinson), Diggle (David Ramsey), Harbinger (Audrey Marie Anderson), Deadshot, (Michael Rowe), Bronze Tiger (Michael Jai White) and perhaps Harley Quinn find an audience? There's also appears to be a Birds of Prey team forming on Arrow with Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards), Huntress, Katana (Devon Aoki) and Black Canary (Caity Lotz or Katie Cassidy) all in play. And lastly, we have Deathstroke (Manu Bennett) cooling his heels in the makeshift Super Max prison...

"Medium" and "Bates Motel" star David Cubitt will play Mark Shaw, who eventually becomes Manhunter and is an A.R.G.U.S. operative who John Diggle (David Ramsey) encounters. Other characters along for the ride this season are Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), who becomes Atom; Ted Grant (J.R. Ramirez), who becomes Wildcat; Katana (Devon Aoki); a new Count Vertigo (Peter Stormare); Felicity's mother (Charlotte Ross); and Maseo (Karl Yune). Ra's al Ghul, a notorious DC villain, will provide much of the conflict this season. The character was featured prominently in Christopher Nolan's "Batman Begins" and was played by Liam Neeson. (Cbr) "Medium's" David Cubitt has been cast as Mark Shaw (Aka Manhunter) in the upcoming season of "Arrow." The "Arrow" cast for season three continues to expand to the far corners of the DC Universe, as The Hollywood Reporter reports that "Medium" star David Cubitt has been cast as Mark Shaw, an A.R.G.U.S. agent in Corto Maltese that crosses paths with David Ramsey's character John Diggle. In the comics, Mark Shaw was one of the many who assumed the mantle of Manhunter -- though, there's no guarantee that he'll become the character in "Arrow." In season two of the series, District Attorney Kate Spencer -- another DC Character that assumed the Manhunter identity -- was killed by the end of the season before anything more about her background could be revealed. Mark Shaw's first appearance is slated for the third episode of the upcoming season of "Arrow.

DC role casting for the upcoming third season of Arrow continues, and this time the series will introduce someone with close ties to Oliver’s right-hand man, John Diggle. According to THR, Medium star David Cubitt has landed a “meaty” guest role, in the form of DC Comics character Mark Shaw, a.k.a. Manhunter.
When I first came across the article I thought that Cubitt would be playing one of my favorite DC heroes, Martian Manhunter, but unfortunately that’s not the case. Manhunter is a moniker that’s been taken on by several characters over the years, including Kate Spencer – who appeared and died on Arrow toward the end of last season. Shaw has a connection to the Suicide Squad, which will likely be taking even more prominence in the series this year.

It's been nearly a decade since "Sin City" hit theaters, but fans will soon be able to return to the seedy, crime-ridden cesspool known as Basin City in the upcoming "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For." Dimension held a press conference earlier today with stars Jessica Alba, Josh Brolin, Eva Green and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller, where they discussed the sequel's original storylines, green screen technique, the possibility of further "Sin City" yarns and Alba's dance moves. Based on Miller's Dark Horse Comics series, the sequel includes two chapters based on existing storylines -- "A Dame to Kill For" and the brief "Just Another Saturday Night" -- plus the original stories "The Fat Loss" (originally titled "Nancy's Last Dance") and "The Long, Bad Night." It brings together characters seen in the first film -- Alba as Nancy, Bruce Willis as Hartigan, Mickey Rouke as Marv,...

As we get closer to Arrow‘s third season premiere, more and more actors are joining the cast, which in turn brings more DC Comics characters to the series. Over the last few weeks we’ve seen characters like The Atom (played by former Superman Brandon Routh), a new Count Vertigo (Fargo alum Peter Stormare), Katana (Sin City‘s Devon Aoki) and Wildcat (House of Payne‘s J.R. Ramirez) added to the roster, with season “big bad” Ra’s Al Ghul yet to be cast.
With all the superheroes and villains joining the series, it’s easy to forget that regular, human characters are needed for the show, too. According to TV Guide, one such character has just been cast: Felicty Smoak’s mother, played by NYPD Blue actress Charlotte Ross.

One things fans can never complain about the CW’s Arrow is a lack of DC Comics characters. Over the course of the show’s two seasons we’ve seen countless villains and heroes from the comics, and that trend will continue as we head into year three. We’ve already seen characters like Ray Palmer a.k.a. The Atom (played by Superman Returns‘ Brandon Routh), the New 52 version of Count Vertigo (Fargo‘s Peter Stormare) and Katana (Sin City‘s Devon Aoki) join the ranks, and now we have two more names to add to that list.
The first new addition is Ted Grant, a.k.a. Wildcat, a championship boxer who served as a mentor and trainer to several younger heroes including Black Canary and Batman. He’s a seminal member of the Justice Society of America, and has been seen in several DC animated series like...

While the superhero genre has blossomed on the big screen over the last decade, the small screen has seen relatively fewer attempts at the genre. One notable exception, however, is the CW show Arrow, which has garnered both commercial and critical praise over the course of its two seasons, leading to excitement at the announcement that the show had been renewed for a third season. Stephen Amell, Emily Bett Rickards, and David Ramsey reprise their roles in the new season, with Brandon Routh and Devon Aoki joining the cast. Once he was Superman. Now he's The Atom. Brandon Routh, who took the lead in Bryan Singer's Superman Returns in 2006, is joining The CW TV series Arrow for its third season, in the recurring role of one Ray Palmer. He joins the also recently arrived Peter Stormare (playing Count Vertigo) and Devon Aoki (playing Katana). In the original DC comics, Palmer was a professor of physics who developed a shrinking apparatus using matter from a white dwarf star. Naturally he ended up using it on himself (to escape a spelunking tragedy - damn that spelunking!) and was left with the permanent ability to reduce his size to a subatomic level. Accepting his new-found power, he decided to use it for superheroic good guy antics. His role in Arrow has been described as "an unrivalled scientist and inventor who will play an unexpected role in [Green Arrow] Oliver Queen's life". He only got the chance to play Superman once in Superman Returns, but Brandon Routh – who found great success on television as part of the cast of cult favourite hit Chuck – is now getting a second chance in Arrow. However, he won’t be playing Superman, but will instead be the hero known as The Atom!

Former Superman himself Brandon Routh looks likely to play another superhero from DC Comics mythology - The Atom. The actor is set to play the main recurring guest star in the upcoming third season of The CW's "Arrow".
Routh will play Ray Palmer, a scientist, inventor and the new owner of Queen Consolidated. The deal spans fourteen episodes, with the character also serving as a love interest for fan favorite Felicity Smoak.
In the comics, Palmer becomes The Atom, a character that can shrink down to subatomic size. Whether the show will follow through with that we'll have to wait and see. It's likely though as the character matches a leaked casting description the other week of one of the new key characters.
Routh joins other announced newcomers this season including Karl Yune, Peter Stormare, Devon Aoki and returning champ John Barrowman who has been upped to a series regular.

Years before "Man of Steel" launched the debate of how many city blocks Superman could successfully destroy while still being classifiable as a "superhero," there was "Superman Returns." A venture launched by "X-Men" mastermind Bryan Singer and piggybacking, weirdly enough, on Richard Donner's original "Superman" movie, it was unsuccessful, and anchored by a young actor who seemed destined for super-stardom... Until he wasn't. Well, that actor, Brandon Routh, will make a return to his comic book origins, with a supporting role on the CW's wildly popular "Arrow."
According to TV Line, Routh, who also popped up in the comic book-derived masterpiece "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" (not to mention the less successful "Dylan Dog," based on the beloved Italian horror comic), will play Ray Palmer in the third season of "Arrow." Believe it or not, season three of Arrow is just a few months away now, and the cast looks set to expand considerably with the addition of three new cast members. They will each be playing a well-known character from the comic books, and we have all the spoiler-free details on each of them for you right here!
22 Jump Street star Peter Stormare will play Count Vertigo, and if that name sounds familiar, it ‘s because the character was played by Seth Gabel in a number of season one and season two episodes. Stormare however will play Werner Zytle, a character who is an actual Count and the ruler of Vlatava.
Hopefully this version will actually have the same powers as his comic book counterpart who uses his “Vertigo Effect” to disrupt his enemies’ balance, something which is problematic for Green Arrow!
