- She originated the role of Norca in the off-Broadway hit 'Our Lady of 121st Street', the role of Daisy in 'In Arabia We'd All Be Kings', the roles of Gloria/Mother Theresa in 'The Last Days of Judas Iscariot' at The Public Theater, and the role of Magnolia in 'The Little Flower of East Orange'. All shows were directed by the Academy Award winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, and written by award winning playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis.
- She appeared in the New York premiere of 'Living Out', by Lisa Loomer, one of the writers of the Academy Award-winning film, "Girl Interrupted". Liza received a Lucille Lortel Award [2004] nomination for 'Best Featured Actress' for her portrayal of Zoila.
