Venom: The Last Dance has finally released its first trailer which dives into Eddie Brock/ Venom’s journey as it comes to an end. Although the teaser has already given us a glimpse of what danger awaits the anti-hero which could turn out to become their last dance, fans are more in awe over what the symbiote is doing in its first trailer.

Given that we are aware of the violent nature of symbiotes, many found it quite surprising when the trailer portrayed it otherwise in one particular sequence by taking the movie title way too literally.

When Tom Hardy first appeared as the fan-favorite Eddie Brock/Venom, it was largely the ideal combination. The grit, acting chops, and intrepid energy that Hardy brought to the character meant that Sony immediately had a hit on their hands.
While Venom was rated PG-13, it did not need to showcase a large amount of violence and gore in order to attract audiences. That was a job done by the film’s narrative, and the evergreen, oft-hilarious charm of Tom Hardy.

Regardless, Sony did what Sony does, and showed every intention of turning the Hardy-led movie into a full-blown franchise. Our favorite extraterrestrial symbiote, in an unfortunate manner, gave birth to an offspring in the form of Woody Harrelson’s Cletus Kasady / Carnage. However, things did not work out as well as the first time around.

David Fincher has been a prolific director who has made a lot of projects in different genres throughout his career. However, he made a breakthrough, when he made Alien 3, though the film did not make a major impact at the box office his film style and vision left a lasting influence on the viewers and critics.

However, everyone was taken aback, when he made his next film, Se7en which featured Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman in the lead roles. The film did not belong to a crime thriller or horror genre but it was an amalgamated form of different genres. The film had arguably the biggest plot twist at the end, and it was so scary that the audience had a difficult time watching it on the big screen.

Pirates of the Caribbean has explored some interesting and uncharted territories under Johnny Depp’s reign as Captain Jack Sparrow. The movies were filled with various elements and themes all resonating the feelings of fun, thrill, and excitement. All five films were loved in one way or another, even though not all had as strong a box office run as others.

There were many ideas explored and those that could never make it from concepts to paper. Although a 6th installment is in the works, Depp’s involvement is less than likely. As such, there were many ideas he too wanted to explore that still remain untouched. Having done so many different films in the franchise, there was one concept in particular the actor wanted to explore. One that may never happen, or occur in the absence of Depp.

Director Eric Mathis of Grime House Films and Drake Teer of Teer/Mathis Productions have unleashed the trailer for their upcoming horror movie INfernal, said to be a “thrilling, heavy metal-infused Faustian tale.” The team promises to deliver a “unique blend of horror, metal music, and monstrous mayhem that will leave audiences on the edge of their seats.”
Having wrapped production, INfernal is now in its final stages, and the team has launched a finishing funds campaign on Indiegogo. At this time, they are 63% of the way to their goal.
INfernal follows the story of four friends – two of whom are undead and one a pig demon from hell – as they race against time to outsmart the Devil himself after a summoning ritual goes disastrously wrong. Behind the glitz and glamour of film production, there are an increasing number of eco warriors in the industry who are tirelessly working behind the scenes to ensure not only that productions become more environmentally sustainable long term, but are also engaged in educating the sector and promoting climate storytelling on screen.
Emmy-winning and Oscar nominated producer Lydia Dean Pilcher, who founded New York-based production company Cine Mosaic, was one of the earliest advocates for sustainability in the entertainment sector. After becoming a mother, and inspired by Al Gore’s 2006 documentary An Inconvenient Truth, the producer-writer-director — whose credits include The Darjeeling Limited, Queen of Katwe and Radium Girls (a climate narrative that she co-directed) — immediately felt compelled to be an ambassador for greener solutions in the industry.

Hey, remember that there’s a Faces of Death remake on the way from Legendary Entertainment and Cam filmmakers Isa Mazzei and Daniel Goldhaber?! It’s been a while since we’ve heard a peep about this one, but the film’s MPA rating has been handed in this week.
The upcoming Faces of Death remake is rated “R” for…
“Strong bloody violence and gore, sexual content, nudity, language and drug use.”
Musician Charli Xcx will make her feature debut in Faces of Death.
Dacre Montgomery (“Stranger Things”), Barbie Ferreira (“Euphoria”), Josie Totah (“Saved by the Bell”) and Aaron Holliday (Cocaine Bear) are also set to star.
How do you remake Faces of Death? It sounds like Mazzei and Goldhaber have come up with an interesting approach for this one. Here’s what we know about this mysterious project.

Bill Skarsgård goes on a violent murder spree in Moritz Mohr’s superbly gory action thriller. Here’s our Boy Kills World review.
Gore is not for everyone. That goes without saying, but I’m a big fan of bloody spectacle. There’s just something very appealing about limbs getting torn off, heads spinning and blood covering every inch of the screen.
Which is exactly why I loved Boy Kills World, Moritz Mohr’s exceptionally stylish and gory new action thriller. If gore is not your thing, you prefer substance over style, you may want to take this review with a grain of salt.
The film follows Boy, a deaf-mute man played by Bill Skarsgård, who plots revenge against the Van Der Koy family who murdered his own kin via their yearly Hunger Games-style televised event. He can’t speak, but Boy does have a particularly animated inner voice,...

Editors note: Filmmaker and producer Davis Guggenheim directed 2006’s An Inconvenient Truth featuring Al Gore. The film won the Oscar and helped put Jeff Skoll’s social-impact-driven production company then known as Participant Media on the map, and also sounded an alarm about climate change that has become more pronounced since the film was released. In addition to documentaries, Participant was also responsible for Oscar Best Picture winners Spotlight and Green Book, and Steven Soderbergh’s Contagion, another timely topic. Guggenheim is a co-founder of Concordia Studio and most recently directed and produced Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie, which won four Emmys including for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special. He is the only person to direct and produce three distinct films ranking in the top 100 highest-grossing documentaries of all time. Here he penned a guest column for Deadline after learning Participant was shuttering.

The Last of Us is probably the most popular PlayStation franchise next to God of War, but the sequel has had its fair share of criticism. Naughty Dog is one of the bravest developers in the gaming industry today, but the team’s creative decisions are causing massive backlash.
The sequel was well received by critics but not by the fanbase for several reasons, but it seems like there is a shift in tone towards The Last of Us 2 now. The gaming community gave the game the recognition it deserved for the gore system.

Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon or Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire, released on Netflix in 2023, generated polarizing reactions among critics and audiences. As its second installment is waiting for its release this month, Snyder has stated that the R-rated cuts of both films look like different films in themselves. However, the fans don’t look so happy about the idea of an intentional Director’s Cut.

Joe Lieberman, the former Connecticut senator and Al Gore’s Democratic vice presidential nominee in 2000, has died. He was 82.
His family said in a statement that he died due to complications from a fall.
“Senator Lieberman’s love of God, his family and America endured throughout his life of service in the public interest,” his family said. His wife, Hadassah, and other family members were at his side when he died, according to the statement.
At the time of his death, Lieberman was leading an effort to recruit a candidate for the group No Labels, which has been seeking a “unity” ticket to run independently of the Democratic and Republican parties.
Lieberman held to the view that, even in a time of hyper polarization, there was a common ground to be found in politics. His own career reflected that, and even those who criticized his positions found him friendly, kind and polite.

If there’s one thing you can count on in a Ryuhei Kitamura horror film, it’s the copious amounts of bloodshed and gore. With Kitamura, gore is most definitely an artform. Based on Clive Barker’s 1984 short story of the same name, 2008 film The Midnight Meat Train follows a photographer obsessed with dark subject matter. He gets in over his head when he discovers a serial killer that butchers unsuspecting night commuters in grisly fashion.
There’s probably not many movies as aptly titled as this one. There’s a lot of human meat, blood, brain matter, and limbs being carved up on the late-night subway train in this horror movie. Bradley Cooper stars as Leon Kaufman, the photographer that stumbles upon and then becomes obsessed with the ruthless serial killer. His concerned girlfriend Maya, a character not in the original story, is played by Leslie Bibb. But the...

Welcome to this week’s review of Tna Wrestling, the latest episode under the return of the Tna branding! Let’s get into the review and see what went down…
Match #1: Frankie Kazarian def. Jake Something The following is courtesy of tnawrestling.com:
Jake Something steps up to the new-attitude Frankie Kazarian in tonight’s opening contest! Something puts his power on display as he whips Kazarian over the top rope to the floor. Kazarian rakes the eyes to gain control. Back in the ring, Kazarian hits a neckbreaker for two. Kazarian connects with a powerslam, followed by his signature springboard leg drop. Something fights off a Chicken Wing attempt, then creates separation with a forearm blast out of the corner. Something hits a sit-down driver for a near fall of his own. Kazarian spikes him with the slingshot Ddt but it’s still not enough. Kazarian dodges, sending...

Radio Silence (V/H/S, Southbound, Scream, Scream VI) returns to the big screen with Universal horror movie Abigail in April, and the film’s MPA rating has arrived this week.
Releasing April 19, Abigail has been rated “R” for…
“Strong bloody violence and gore throughout, pervasive language and brief drug use.”
Watch the official trailer for Abigail below, which is a bloody blast. The Don’t Breathe-esque setup introduces a band of criminals who attempt to kidnap a seemingly innocent young girl. Of course, the little girl turns out to be a vampire – a ballerina vampire, to be specific.
The cast for this one is absolutely stacked with talent, and the killer premise looks to have been executed by Radio Silence in the most fun – and bloody – way possible. It channels the spirit of their pre-Scream horror hit Ready or Not, and it promises to be a gory good time.

Directed by Daniel Turres, Here for Blood follows a down-on-his-luck wrestler (Shawn Roberts; Albert Wesker in the Resident Evil films) and his girlfriend (Joelle Farrow) who are having a hard time making ends meet. When his girlfriend finds herself overwhelmed by exams, muscle-bound wrestler Tom O’Bannon steps in to cover one of her babysitting gigs.

It's a new year, so it's time for a new Blu-ray round-up! Our first of 2024! Things are a little sparse here in at the start of the year, but there's still some great stuff to check out. We have Eli Roth's holiday slasher "Thanksgiving" to carve things up. Also, the fine folks at Kino Lorber have released John Woo's bonkers action extravaganza "Face/Off" on 4K! "Face/Off" is technically a December release, but we're including it now. Speaking of action, we also have a 4K release of Gareth Evans' "The Raid," aka "The Raid: Redemption." Finally, on the non-action movie front, we have the Criterion release of John Sayles' Western neo-noir character drama "Lone Star."
So let's get to it. And remember to keep spinning those discs.

More than 60 years after it was recorded, Lesley Gore‘s “Misty” is the hottest song on TikTok. Gore’s 1963 take on the Erroll Garner standard achieved a first-place finish in the TikTok Billboard Top 50 chart thanks to its use in a widespread trend.
Gore’s shuffling rendition of “Misty” has appeared in more than 1.8 million TikToks. In recent months, the song has provided the soundtrack for a viral meme, in which participants show how their appearance changes with or without a particular attribute. As memes are wont to do, the “Misty” bit has evolved to become self-referential.

America is facing its greatest constitutional crisis since the Civil War. I know, journalists exaggerate sometimes. But as rock critic Greil Marcus said of punk rock half a century ago, this is actually happening. And if sanity doesn’t prevail, this crisis will affect all of our lives, whether we are paying attention to it or not.
Is this really “unprecedented,” as journalists like to say? Here’s the evidence. There has never been a major presidential candidate on trial, let alone charged with 91 criminal counts in four cases, as...

What better way to enter 2024 than with Christina Aguilera leading a Las Vegas crowd in some self-affirmations to the beat of her song “Vanity?” “Damn, I look sexy. Damn, I look good,” the singer said. “There’s no shame in giving yourself a little extra love.”
Aguilera marked her return to Las Vegas after 2019’s 10-month The Xperience with a sexier, Burlesqueier, and more intimate show at the Venetian’s Voltaire Belle de Nuit, a newly opened venue, christened in November by Kylie Minogue.

After nearly two weeks of controversy and contentious negotiations, nations at the Un’s 2023 global climate summit, COP28, have signed a historic agreement to “transition away” from fossil fuels and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
The agreement, signed by more than 200 nations, almost fell apart at the finish line. On Monday, oil-dependent nations removed language calling for a full “phase out” of fossil fuel energy resources from its draft, prompting international outrage. The European Union threatened to walk away from the agreement. France’s minister of energy transition, Agnes Pannier-Runacher called the proposed text “insufficient.

Climate activists say the 2023 Un Climate Conference is on “the verge of complete failure” after oil-producing nations secured the removal of language calling for a phase-out of fossil fuels from the summit’s draft agreement.

Mort Engelberg, a producer of the films Smokey And The Bandit and The Big Easy, has passed away. Engelberg was 86, and he died in Los Angeles in the company of his wife, Helaine Blatt, a success herself as a high-end jewelry broker.
Engelberg was producing films when he took time away from his day job and organized a famous bus tour taken by Arkansas governor and presidential aspirant Bill Clinton and his running mate Al Gore through numerous states the summer after the Democratic Convention in 1992. Engelberg served a similar role previously for candidates Walter F. Mondale in 1984 and Michael Dukakis in 1988. For Clinton, the bus tour was a rousing success. It bonded Clinton, Gore and their wives, and presenting the amiable presidential candidate as an everymen who thrived mixing with real people in cities across the country. It would become a trademark for Clinton’s successful two presidential runs.

In this week’s cinematic lineup, viewers can anticipate a diverse range of releases, from the festive cheer of “Merry Little Batman” to the suspenseful drama of “Leave the World Behind” and the heart-stopping, horror-inducing narrative of “Thanksgiving.” However, it’s worth noting a somewhat unexpected scarcity of Christmas-focused movies in this listicle. Whether you’re in the mood for laughter, adrenaline-pumping action, spine-chilling thrills, or heartwarming moments, this listicle unveils a cinematic smorgasbord that goes beyond the anticipated Christmas movie lineup.

The host of the United Nations’ COP28 climate change summit cast doubt on whether eliminating fossil fuels would help limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius, saying there is “no science” behind it. Scientists told The Guardian, which first reported the comments, that his remarks are “incredibly concerning” and “verging on climate denial.”

It’s a good time to be a fan of filmmaker Mike Mendez. Not only did he contribute to the horror anthology Satanic Hispanics, which received a theatrical release a few months ago and is coming soon to Blu-ray, but now Synapse Films has given his awesome 2000 horror comedy The Convent (watch it Here) a limited edition 4K release! Copies of this release can be purchased directly from Synapse Films, or through Diabolik DVD.
Directed by Mendez from a screenplay by Chaton Anderson, The Convent has the following synopsis: In 1960, a young woman named Christine enters St. Francis Boarding School for Girls and lays waste to the resident nuns. Four decades later, a group of college students head to the long-abandoned building late one night to tag it with their fraternity letters, little knowing that rumors of the place being haunted are terrifyingly true. Intellectual property — the books, films, characters and properties that get butts into seats — has long been a cornerstone of Hollywood moviemaking. But many of this year’s films have drawn from less likely, though perhaps inevitable, sources of inspiration: products and brands. Movies ranging from “Barbie” and “Air” to “BlackBerry” and Michael Mann’s upcoming “Ferrari” all to one extent or another leverage the namesake of the object, or the business associated with it in the name of attracting audiences to theaters.
This parade of product-driven titles seems to mark an inflection point in a crowded entertainment landscape where consumer recognizability has become one of the most important (or seemingly only) factor when deciding which movies to make.
At their best, these movies hit it out of the park with critics and moviegoers, as in the case with “Barbie,” the biggest movie of the year, or gain critical heat, as with “Air,...

Forty years ago, writer James L. Brooks made one of the most impressive directorial debuts in film history when he brought Larry McMurtry‘s novel “Terms of Endearment” to the screen. Although he had forged a successful career in television, creating classic sitcoms like “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and “Taxi” and writing the fine Burt Reynolds-Jill Clayburgh romance “Starting Over,” nothing on Brooks’ résumé prepared audiences for the delicate tonal balance of “Terms,” a comedy about the relationship between a mother (Shirley MacLaine) and daughter (Debra Winger) that culminates in the daughter being diagnosed with a terminal illness.
Cancer might not seem like the raw material for wall-to-wall laughs, but that’s exactly what “Terms” provides — and even when the movie goes dark in its final act, Brooks never wanted to lose sight of that initial intention. “It was essential to me in every way you can use the...

I really liked the first Terrifier, but I didn’t like Terrifier 2, as I was put off by its excessive 138 minute running time and its dive into the supernatural. Writer/director Damien Leone has said (in the interview you can watch in the embed above) that those supernatural elements are going to be fully explained in Terrifier 3 – but I’m also very glad to hear that he has said (in an interview with Movieweb) that the next sequel is going to be shorter and less mystical than part 2. While still being as gory and depraved as we expect a Terrifier movie to be.
When asked if the reception of Terrifier 2 had an impact on his approach to Terrifier 3, Leone told Movieweb, “Not too much. The only thing I’m very conscious of when going into Terrifier 3 is trying to make a film under two hours...

There has never been a more apt name for a developer than One More Level. The studio, based in Cracow, Poland, has carved out a delightful little niche for themselves making deeply addictive games that feel, look, and play like the fever dream of someone blissed out on an illicit street drug from the year 2099 while watching nothing but the Matrix trilogy on repeat. Ghostrunner 2 is the next fix, a breathless cyberpunk speedball of a game that adds complexity to the Ghostrunner experience without sacrificing the primal thrills that made the original worth retrying—even as it aims to put players in the dirt for the 200th time.
That complexity is most prominent at the outset from the narrative end. The first game’s city-wide coup against the technocrat government of Dharma Tower—the last human sanctuary—was a rousing success, as the rebels have now taken power, with rogue...

Shucked, the pun-filled, corn-fed comedy that surprised critics (favorably) and early on seemed destined to become a sleeper hit, will play its final performance at Broadway’s Nederlander Theatre on Sunday, January 14, 2024, producers have announced.
Shucked, which received nine Tony Award nominations last spring and eventually won one (for featured actor Alex Newell), began previews March 8 and opened April 4. When it closed on January 14, it will have played 28 preview performances and 327 regular performances.
Producers Mike Bosner and Jason Owen announced the closing. The musical will begin a North American tour in Fall 2024, with productions planned for London’s West End (at the Cameron Mackintosh Theater beginning winter 2025) and Sydney, Australia, (Spring 2026 with producing partner Suzanne Jones).
Producers reportedly have floated the idea of finding another Broadway venue after the show vacates the Nederlander, but finding a house in what looks to be a crowded Spring season will be tough. Still,...

Because "Futurama" is set 1,000 years in the future, show creators David X. Cohen and Matt Groening had to invent a sci-fi conceit that would provide an organic reason to include celebrity cameos. Thanks to a special fluid, human heads can be kept alive in jars more or less indefinitely. In the very first episode, the head of Dick Clark hosted a televised New Year's Eve special to ring in the year 3000. Clark played himself. Since then, multiple other celebrities have played their own severed heads, including the Beastie Boys, the cast of "Star Trek," Al Gore, Conan O'Brien, Beck, Lucy Liu, Penn Jillette, and most recently, Bill Nye.
