If we know anything, it’s that Viking movies and shows can certainly fit into many genres but if we are talking about it seriously, Vikings on its own is a separate genre because there is a different feel to any Viking-related movie or show that can only come from this specific genre. So, if you like Vikings-related movies or shows here are the absolute best movies and shows you can find on Netflix right now.

Even though "Bones" has been off the air since 2017, the show maintains a loyal following. Audiences followed Emily Deschanel's Brennan and David Boreanaz's Booth for 12 seasons and nearly 250 episodes as they solved crimes while falling in love. That relationship was at the very center of the show from the pilot onward. That being the case, fans of the show had a tendency to not like it when the Brennan/Booth romance was messed with. That's why Katheryn Winnick was given a warning before she accepted her role as Hannah.
Winnick, who would go on to star in shows such as "Vikings" and "Big Sky," stepped into the series relatively late in the game. Her character Hannah Burley was a major player in "Bones" season 6, and one that fans had strong opinions about. She had a fling with Booth in Afghanistan and, in the show's sixth season, she made...

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has just about the perfect cast for each and every comic book character they have brought to life. Yet that does not mean that the ‘perfect actors’ would want to continue playing their roles forever (clue Dave Bautista as Drax) and for someone like Brie Larson, who delivered Marvel’s first true bomb in years, the actress must certainly be looking to move outside the realms of the MCU.
Brie Larson as Captain Marvel in the MCU
Even though the actress has been on numerous occasions described as the perfect Captain Marvel, her recent ambiguous answers related to her future with Marvel seem to hint she might have already said goodbye to her fan-favorite role.

Delays are bound to happen when making movies, but something was clearly wrong when Amusement was postponed not once but twice in 2008. It wasn’t long before John Simpson’s American directorial debut was removed from the theatrical schedule altogether and then later dropped on DVD that following year. Although going from the big-screen to direct-to-video is an undeserved fate in some cases, this movie’s new destination was understandable. The unfavorable feedback from an early test screening — the word “disastrous” was tossed around — forced Warner Bros to salvage the potential flop now on its hands. Nevertheless, the negative consensus hasn’t stopped Amusement from amassing a small fan base over the years; its followers focus on this panned movie’s few merits rather than its many shortcomings.
At first, Amusement looks to be an anthology; this horror movie’s first three acts are well defined and almost function as standalone short features.

Throughout their messy and prolonged courtship, "Bones" couple Dr. Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and FBI agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) played their fair share of romantic musical chairs. They both tested the waters of a workplace relationship fairly early on in the show's run, with Brennan hopping into bed with Booth's FBI colleague Tim "Sully" Sullivan (Eddie McClintock) -- and causing a bit of a ruckus among Fox's censors -- in season 2. This was around the same time that Booth restarted his own amorous association with the then-newly-appointed boss of the Jeffersonian Institute's forensic division, Camille "Cam" Saroyan (Tamara Taylor).
As the saying goes, if you can't be with the one you love, hook up with the one who will abruptly vanish in a few episodes (unless they become a fan favorite like Cam).

Vikings star Katheryn Winnick made her character Lagertha — a shield maiden, or female warrior — as tough and determined as any of the male warriors fighting in bloody battles on the popular history drama.
And she’s a a kick-ass woman in real life, having earned her first black belt at 13 and opened three martial arts studios in her native Toronto by age 21. But Winnick says her onscreen bravado in Vikings is nothing compared to the fighting spirit she has seen among the Ukrainian people as they defend her family’s ancestral homeland against a continuing Russian onslaught.
“Yes, I may play a warrior on TV. But they’re the real warriors,” Winnick tells The Hollywood Reporter as her fundraising efforts include serving as a UNITED24 Ambassador, alongside fellow actors Liev Schreiber, Mark Strong and Mark Hamill, and her charity The Winnick Foundation partnering with Ukrainian organizations to help rebuild the country.

It’s no secret that “Yellowstone” is one of those once-in-a-decade types of shows that has everyone talking around the virtual water coolers. And while fans eagerly await what we now know to be the final episodes of the show’s critically-acclaimed run, “Yellowstone” has created an itch in viewers that just needs to be scratched now, and we can do that via similar type shows.
And sure, we could suggest other super popular series like “Ozark” and “Succession” that also include messy families involved with shady dealings, but odds are you’ve seen them already. And if not, you definitely should whether you like “Yellowstone” or not. These are just the facts. We could also recommend the two “Yellowstone” prequel series “1884” and “1923,” but that’s kind of a given if you’re already a fan of the original. But speaking of, fans who prefer those two offerings over...

Three TV dramas have reached the end of the line at ABC: The broadcast network has canceled Big Sky after three seasons and Alaska Daily and The Company You Keep after one apiece. Big Sky, created by prolific TV producer David E. Kelly and adapted from novels by C.J. Box, followed private detective Cassie Dewell (Kylie Bunbury) and undersheriff Jenny Hoyt (Katheryn Winnick) as they investigated crimes in small-town Montana. In Season 3, subtitled Deadly Trails, the duo teamed up with sheriff Beau Arlen (Jensen Ackles) to investigate an ill-fated backcountry trip led by outfitter Sunny Barnes (Reba McEntire). Anna Kooris/ABC Season 3 — which also starred Dedee Pfeiffer as Denise Brisbane, Jamie-Lynn Sigler as Tonya Wallis, and J. Anthony Pena as Deputy Mo Poppernak — had an average 0.25 rating in the 18–49 demographic and averaged 2.28 million live-plus-same-day viewers, down 18 percent and 12 percent from Season 2, respectively, according to TV Series Finale. ABC is saying goodbye to three bubble dramas ahead of the 2023-24 season.
Big Sky, Alaska Daily, and The Company You Keep have all been canceled on the network.
Big Sky is coming to a close after three seasons, with its January season finale serving as a series finale.
The drama averaged 4.8 million total viewers and a 0.5 rating in Live+7 playback, down a bit vs. last season.
The Katheryn Winnick and Kylie Bunbury-led drama was truly a bubble drama.
The show has been a success internationally on the Disney-owned Star, but with ABC becoming home to 9-1-1 and clawing back Dancing With the Stars from Disney+, its chances of a fourth season diminished.
Meanwhile, the Hilary Swank starrer Alaska Daily wrapped its freshman season in March.
It averaged 5.3 million viewers and a 0.4 rating in the demo, meaning that a renewal was very much out of the question.

“Big Sky” is officially going to the big network in the sky. ABC will not be moving forward with the David E. Kelley crime drama. The network also revealed on Friday that it was axing “Alaska Daily” and “The Company You Keep.”
Despite its initial popularity, it’s not all that surprising that “Big Sky” would be on the chopping block. The series’ premiere episode reached 14.7 million total viewers over a 35 day period, making it ABC’s most-watched debut since “The Good Doctor” in 2017. It was also ABC’s highest-rated series debut in the coveted 18-49 demo since the premiere of “A Million Little Things” in 2018.
But as the series has gone on, its ratings have fallen. A show that routinely drew 3.5 million to 4 million live viewers per episode started to see more and more episodes in the 2.2 million range. This decline likely had to do with “Big Sky’s” story arc.

There will be no fourth season for Big Sky at ABC as the network has opted not to renew David E. Kelley’s drama series. It is unclear yet whether co-studio A+E Studios would seek a new home for the show starring Katheryn Winnick and Kylie Bunbury.
Big Sky, which had a straight-to-series order, was a breakout when it premiered in November 2020. It was one of the strongest broadcast series to launch during the pandemic-hit 2020-21 season and set a mini trend for a big-name actor (in this case Ryan Philippe) to be announced as a star of a series and be used heavily in the marketing campaign only to have their character shockingly die in the first episode.
Ratings for the heavily serialized Big Sky have significantly slipped since the high flying first season, with the drama among the lowest rated scripted series on ABC this season when the show aired 13 episodes vs.

With ratings dropping across the board on the broadcast networks, many shows are in danger of cancellation.
While some shows are more in danger than others, many are on the bubble, meaning their fates are up in the air.
Let's take a look at the shows on the bubble.
Big Sky - ABC
Pros: The Katheryn Winnick and Kyle Bunbury-led drama has always been a strong performer in delayed viewing for ABC.
The series also tackles a new case every season. Big Sky Season 3 brought Reba McEntire into the mix.
It was a buzzy season, so there's a good chance fans will be looking for more.
Cons: The live numbers are not great. Big Sky Season 3 averaged 2.3 million viewers and a 0.25 rating in the demo.
While the numbers are not bad, they are down quite a bit vs. Big Sky Season 2.
As a result, there's a good chance that ABC...

Big Sky wrapped its third season earlier this week, and now viewers are wondering if a fourth season of the crime thriller series is in the cards. If the show is renewed, will it feature Jensen Ackles? He played the town sheriff on the ABC series, and the actor says that his character's future could take two different directions. He could stay put where he is or return to his former home in Houston to deal with his past.
Also starring Katheryn Winnick, Kylie Bunbury, Dedee Pfeiffer, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Reba McEntire, and J. Anthony Pena, the series follows the investigations of private detectives and police in Helena, Montana.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Big Sky: Deadly Trails Season 3 finale, “That Old Feeling.”] Beau Arlen’s (Jensen Ackles) future on Big Sky is left up in the air at the end of the Season 3 finale. On the one hand, he could return to Houston with his ex-wife Carla (Angelique Cabral) and daughter Emily (Cree Cicchino) and face his ghosts there. On the other hand, as sheriff, he can stay where he is and maybe explore what he could have with Jenny (Katheryn Winnick). So would we see Ackles in a fourth season if ABC renewed the drama? “I don’t know. They haven’t even picked up the show yet for Season 4, so I don’t know if anybody’s coming back for Season 4 yet. That’s above my pay grade,” Ackles tells TV Insider. “But if they do decide to pick up a Season 4 — which I would hope they would, I think the...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Big Sky: Deadly Trails Season 3 finale, “That Old Feeling.”] If you tuned into the Big Sky: Deadly Trails Season 3 finale to see Beau (Jensen Ackles), Jenny (Katheryn Winnick), and Cassie (Kylie Bunbury) rescue his daughter Emily (Cree Cicchino), you were left feeling satisfied. If you were hoping to see something happen between Beau and Jenny, that wasn’t exactly the case. Rather, after seeing Sunny (Reba McEntire) kill Buck (Rex Linn) after she found out he was the Bleeding Heart Killer and had kidnapped Emily and Denise (Dedee Pfeiffer) and then go to prison for it, he did go to her place, but we’ll have to wait to see if anything will happen. Ackles breaks down the finale, Beau’s feelings for Jenny, and more. I have to say how seamlessly Beau has fit into the world of Big Sky since his introduction last season. Jensen Ackles: It’s never easy ...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Big Sky Season 3 Episode 10, “A Thin Layer of Rocks.”] Big Sky: Deadly Trails ends its winter finale on a few big notes. First of all, Beau (Jensen Ackles) and Jenny (Katheryn Winnick) definitely have a moment, only to be interrupted when his ex-wife Carla (Angelique Cabral) and daughter Emily (Cree Cicchino) show up to stay with him due to Avery’s (Henry Ian Cusick) strange behavior. Jenny then goes home to find bloody towels and her mother waiting. And Cassie (Kylie Bunbury), on the hunt for the bleeding heart killer, ends up at Buck’s (Rex Linn) door … and he has a knife. Showrunner Elwood Reid teases what’s ahead. Cassie’s potentially in danger at the end. Elwood Reid: Cassie’s the one that’s been instigating the whole idea of Buck hiding something. Making its debut on History back in 2013, "Vikings" delivered a visceral, bone-crunching journey to the eighth-century Scandinavia and the age of the Vikings. The gritty, violent saga told the story of Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel), a farmer who became a warrior and, ultimately, a king. Another part of the series' ongoing storylines involved his first wife, the shieldmaiden Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick), their son Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig), and various other characters who were introduced over the course of the show's six seasons.
As "Vikings" creator Michael Hirst explained to Looper, the writer enlisted a Viking historian to explore some of the most notable figures from that era. He wound up honing in on Ragnar because he was "the first great Viking leader to emerge from the myth and legend, and that was perfect in many ways because it was the beginning of the Viking age." While the series concluded in 2021, fans...

Any filmmaker is lucky to make a single cult classic in their career. Outside of the masters of the genre, it’s rare for someone to helm more than one movie that resonates with a passionate fanbase, regardless of size, over the course of multiple decades – but Jeff Lieberman earned the distinction despite only having five films to his name.
Lieberman made his directorial debut with 1976’s man-eating worm flick Squirm and quickly followed it up with 1978’s killer trip Blue Sunshine. 1981 saw the release of his backwoods slasher Just Before Dawn, after which his feature output slowed considerably. He directed the 1988 sci-fi comedy Remote Control and penned the script for 1994’s The NeverEnding Story III before making his return to horror in 2004 with his final film to date, Satan’s Little Helper.
Ostensibly a cheap, direct-to-video slasher, Satan’s Little Helper – like the rest of Lieberman’s output – subverts expectations.

This hour would have fit in perfectly about three weeks from now when Halloween rolls around.
Big Sky Season 3 Episode 4 was spooky in a way that Big Sky typically isn't. It's dramatic, heartbreaking, cruel, and violent, but it's not usually one to throw in a legitimate jumpscare.
But that's what we got here, and once again, Big Sky is proving that the third time is the charm.
There are a lot of things working this season, from the casting to the plot choices, but above all else, the episodes are flowing even though there are two and sometimes three different storylines. And that's not necessarily unique to the series, but it hasn't worked all that well in the past.
Big Sky Season 3 is different; everything right now is firing on all cylinders.
A big part of that is the introduction of Beau Arlen and the partnership between him and Jenny.

Musical artists Lyle Lovett and Darius Rucker have been tapped to guest star in an upcoming episode of ABC’s Big Sky.
