My Adventures with Superman is one of the most brilliant superhero animated series. Created by Brendan Clougher, Jake Wyatt, and Josie Campbell, the Adult Swim series tells the story of Superman aka Clark Kent as he starts his new job at The Daily Planet, with his roommate Jimmy Olson, and his senior intern at The Daily Planet who is none other than Lois Lane. They quickly become a team and try to bring in big stories so that they can become real reporters while Clark also tries to become the hero he is meant to be. My Adventures with Superman has great action but the brilliant thing about the series is that it isn’t an action series about Superman, it’s a series about a superhero and his relationships as he figures out who he really is. So, if you love the heart, optimism, great story, and fantastic animation...

Layoffs have been announced at Humble Games and Digital Bros, the parent of the 505 Games publishing brand.
Recently, and depressingly, it seems that hardly a day goes by without more layoffs being announced in the games industry. This week we’ve already heard that Unity plans to slash more jobs after already laying off 900 staff in 2023, and now Humble Games and Digital Bros have announced that they will be cutting jobs, too.
VideoGames.si first reported the news of layoffs at the digital storefront and publisher Humble Games, and the company confirmed the report earlier today. “Yesterday was a difficult day for Humble Games and we can confirm that we had to say goodbye to valued colleagues,” Humble Games said in a statement. “Like many companies this year, we have experienced trends that required this restructure in order to ensure our long-term success.”
The statement concludes by saying: “Humble...

Daniel Evans criticizes fellow British players for prioritizing rest over matchplay, suggesting that players need to compete more consistently.
Current British no. 2 on the Atp Tour has openly criticized the culture of British tennis for putting too much emphasis on rest instead of participating in more matches. Evans is well placed to advise the underperforming British tennis scene as he's among the top on the Atp Tour for many years already.
Evans believes that British tennis players should be competing more often, and he discussed that after his early exit at the 2023 Madrid Open, as he's one of the players signed up for the Atp Challenger event in Bordeaux during the second week of the Italian Open.
"I think players need to compete more week in week out. The players need to get out on the road and just get after it. It's not like there's great science behind it.

In a surprising turn of events, Naomi Osaka may be able to avoid being held accountable in the Ftx case.
If Osaka was not properly informed about the lawsuit against the cryptocurrency exchange Ftx, the athlete cannot be held liable, according to US District Judge Kevin Moore. The Ftx lawsuit accuses celebrities like Shaquille O’Neal, Tom Brady, and Naomi Osaka of promoting a "fraudulent scheme" to exploit retail investors who lack knowledge about cryptocurrency.
But, because Osaka, who is currently expecting her first child, was not notified, the lawsuit's progress has been hampered, and the plaintiffs must now defend Osaka against dismissal. The former world number one Osaka might score a big victory if her lawsuit is denied.
On the other hand, if Osaka's name is cleared from the lawsuit, it could have significant implications for the other celebrities involved.

The Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic franchise is a legendary series that affected the course of gaming history and solidified their development studios as RPG juggernauts. Given the clout this franchise holds, one might expect greenlighting further entries would be an easy task. To quote Thanos, “Reality is often disappointing.”
The Kotor franchise currently consists of three titles: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords, and The Old Republic. But the third entry, despite existing within the same continuity, is not a sequel to the first two single-player RPGs. Instead, it’s an Mmorpg side story that takes place 300 years after the first two games.
A proper sequel to the first two games has existed in a state of development hell limbo for almost 20 years, pitched around and canceled at different studios, only to be revived again several years later and subsequently canned again.

We recently learned that the classic DC comic Batman: The Long Halloween is going to be getting a two-part animated film from Warner Bros. Animation. Well, now another classic DC comic story is reportedly in development.
According to Revenge of the Fans, DC is developing an animated adaptation of Mark Millar’s Superman: Red Son. This is another DC Comics story that fans have been wanting to see adapted for a long time. I’m not sure why it took so long, but at least it’s happening now!
For those of you unfamiliar with Red Son, it’s an Elseworld story that puts an interesting twist on the Superman mythology… what if Superman crash-landed in the Soviet Union instead of Kansas?
Here’s the official synopsis:
“Imagine a reality where the world’s most powerful super-being does not grow up in Smallville, Kansas – or even America, for that matter…...

Last year, Warner Bros. treated us with the awesome Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, which saw the likes of Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar reprise their roles of Batman, Robin and Catwoman, respectively. Being essentially the beginning to a fourth season we never received, it surpassed expectations by retaining the feel of the classic 1960’s television series, while also featuring grandiose action scenes that could’ve never been accomplished on the budget of the show.
Having said that, we’re thrilled to see that its sequel, Batman vs. Two-Face, looks like it may be even better. In addition to the return of the aforementioned actors, expect William Shatner to lend his pipes to the dichotomous Harvey Dent, a character who never actually appeared on the TV show itself during its original run.

Believe it or not, we’re about to receive our fourth animated movie headlined by a certain masked hero this year when Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders arrives this fall. The difference, of course, being that this one continues the proud legacy of the television series from the 1960’s, which happens to be celebrating its 50th anniversary.
Although it has been known for some time that Adam West, Burt Ward, and Julie Newmar are reprising their iconic roles of Batman, Robin, and Catwoman, respectively, it has remained a mystery as to who would round out the rest of the cast – until now, that is.

I would feel dishonest writing this review if I didn’t mention my attachment to the game series on which this film is based: I am a massive fan and have been playing them since Ratchet and Clank was first released in 2002. I have played every single entry in the franchise and have almost always been completely satisfied with my experience. Naturally, when I heard my beloved duo was making the transition to the big screen, I was delighted. Perhaps it was these admittedly high expectations that led to it being a generally disappointing experience, however there are a few reasons that I think I would have come to this conclusion regardless of my history with the franchise.
The film follows Ratchet (voiced by James Arnold Taylor), a young Lombax hoping to become a hero. Meanwhile, Alonzo Drek (voiced by Paul Giamatti) and his evil partners Dr. Nefarious (voiced by...

Could have been assembled entirely from clips from other movies — mostly the Star Wars prequels — and would have been better if it had been. I’m “biast” (pro): nothing
I’m “biast” (con): never hopeful about based-on-videogame movies
(what is this about? see my critic’s minifesto)
Ah, so there’s my answer, once again.
I was wondering how that standard movie philosophy still applied to me. You know, that standard movie philosophy that is not only the stuff but the actual stuffing of 99 percent of wish-fulfillment genre fantasy movies for decades now. I approached Ratchet & Clank with great anticipation. Can I do anything? Can I be anything I want to be? Am I destined for greatness, to save the world or even the whole galaxy even if I am a foolhardy, thoughtless, unfocused screwup with almost nothing to my name but maybe some undisciplined smarts and outsized aspirations to grandeur?...
I’m “biast” (con): never hopeful about based-on-videogame movies
(what is this about? see my critic’s minifesto)

Two new TV spots have been released for the big screen animated adaptation of the video game Ratchet & Clank. This looks like it will be a fun film that I know at least my kids will enjoy watching.
Ratchet and Clank tells the story of two unlikely heroes as they struggle to stop a vile alien named Chairman Drek from destroying every planet in the Solana Galaxy. When the two stumble upon a dangerous weapon capable of destroying entire planets, they must join forces with a team of colorful heroes called The Galactic Rangers in order to save the galaxy. Along the way they'll learn about heroism, friendship, and the importance of discovering one's own identity.

Another entrant in the recent-reunion phenomenon: The members of At the Drive-In are coming back with new music and live shows in 2016. The hard-rock band from El Paso teased the announcement across its social-media accounts earlier in the week, and have tipped Fuse off that this year's material could potentially go toward its first fresh studio album since 2000's Relationship of Command. "Fifteen years ago, [our ambition] was, Man, this shit sounds cool, let's make a record and go on tour," guitarist Omar Rodríguez-López told Fuse on Thursday, noting he and his bandmates have been sharing partially and fully formed songs with each other again. "That's our motivation now, too."The inventive quintet (Rodríguez-López, Jim Ward, Cedric Bixler-Zavala, Paul Hinojos, and Tony Hajjar) took a prolonged, differences-and-exhaustion-fueled hiatus in the ’00s — fracturing into nearly half-a-dozen other projects including the Mars Volta, Sparta, Bosnian Rainbows, and Antemasque — before reuniting briefly in...

“Ratchet & Clank” is returning to the screen in animated form — only this time, you can’t control them. Though as it appears from the film’s first trailer, no one can. The animated video-game adaptation boasts plenty of star power in addition to the duo’s unique brand of firepower: Bella Thorne, Sylvester Stallone, Rosario Dawson, John Goodman and Paul Giamatti joined James Arnold Taylor, David Kaye and Jim Ward in the recording studio for the April 29, 2016 release. The actor who perhaps had the most fun with the film though is the trailer’s voiceover artist, who got to play with.

"When a galactic force threatens the world...! Test your gear, find your courage..." Focus has debuted a trailer for the CG animated Ratchet and Clank movie, adapted from the very popular and very amusing video game series of the same name. It's not exactly the most innovative video game adaptation, but I have to say, this looks crazy fun. James Arnold Taylor voices Ratchet, David Kaye voices Clank, and Jim Ward voices Captain Qwark, along with Bella Thorne, Sylvester Stallone, Rosario Dawson, John Goodman and Paul Giamatti all lending their voices to this, too. This is co-directed by the guy who made the Tmnt animated movie as well. Even if you're not a fan of the video game series, give this a quick watch. Here's the first trailer for Jericca Cleland & Kevin Munroe's Ratchet & Clank movie, high def from Apple: A CG-animated movie based on the iconic PlayStation video game.

As we still wait and see if a great videogame-to-movie adaptation can exist, 2016 will be the true test. Before Warcraft and Assassin’s Creed arrive, Ratchet & Clank — a franchise that has been going strong in the video game world since the first game’s release in 2002, selling over 27 million copies worldwide and spawning a whole host of sequels and spin-offs — is getting the animated feature film treatment.
For those of you not into the series, the overall arc of the story follows Ratchet (a last of his kind “lombax”) and Crank (his robot buddy) as they try to stop the dastardly Chairman Drek from wrecking havoc on the Sonoma Galaxy in order to create a new planet for his own kind. Directed by Jericca Cleland and Kevin Munroe, the first trailer has landed today and it seems to stray heavily towards the kiddie side, although that’s perhaps to be...

Set to come our way in 2016, Playstation platform game Ratchet and Clank is getting the animated feature film treatment, and while the games original voice cast James Arnold Taylor (Rachet), David Kaye (Clank), Armin Shimmerman (Doctor Nefarious), and Jim Ward (Captain Quark) will be reprising their roles for the big screen adventures of the young alien Lombax and his robotic pal, The Hollywood Reporter have revealed that they will be joined by some tremendous talent, with Paul Giamatti, John Goodman, Sylvester Stallone, Rosario Dawson, and Bella Thorne (The Duff) lending their voices. With the plot revolving around the titular pair teaming up with a group called the Galactic Rangers to save the galaxy from the evil Chairman Drex, who has gotten his hands on a dangerous weapon capable of destroying planets, it’s safe to assume that they have been cast as members of the Rangers, though I can’t...

It’s been a few years since Sylvester Stallone provided a voice performance for a film (that would be 2011’s Zookeeper) and even longer since he was part of a CG ‘toon (you have to go back to 1998’s Antz for that). But now he has not one but two new animated adventures in the works, since he’s signed on to play a character in Ratchet & Clank alongside Paul Giamatti, John Goodman, Bella Thorne and Rosario Dawson. Announced back in 2013 with some hullabaloo, and taking aim at a release just a couple of months from now, the film adapts the PlayStation game series and also features the voice cast from the console title including James Arnold Taylor as Ratchet, David Kaye as Clank, Armin Shimerman as Nefarious and Jim Ward as Captain Qwark. The story finds Ratchet, a “lombox”, or cat-like creature, and his robot pal Clank, who have...
