- Leontine Sagan was born on February 13, 1889 in Vienna, Austria-Hungary [now Austria]. She was a director and actress, known for Mädchen in Uniform (1931), Men of Tomorrow (1932) and Showtime (1946). She was married to Dr. Victor Fleischer (dramatist). She died on May 20, 1974 in Pretoria, South Africa.

- Austro-Hungarian actress and stage director, noted for her controversial German film Mädchen in Uniform (1931), which featured an all-female cast and was among the first movies with a lesbian theme. Sagan later went to Britain where she made another picture for Alexander Korda, then departing Europe for South Africa, eventually founding the National Theatre of Johannesburg.
