Drama schools worldwide were able to achieve a degree of stability in the past academic year as productions and classes largely went on as scheduled (though, in some cases, programs still felt lingering effects from Covid-19). Coming out of the pandemic, schools are pushing forward with a greater emphasis on diversity within the classes, faculty and coursework. Students are learning how to create the best self-taped auditions and coming out of school with jobs booked. The Hollywood Reporter consulted with educators and industry execs to determine its annual ranking of the best schools for an acting degree. Tuition, when applicable, is listed on an annualized basis and pertains to the upcoming academic year, unless otherwise indicated. Most schools offer some form of financial assistance.

More favorites of stage and screen have joined the star-studded line-up for the 17th-Annual 24 Hour Plays on Broadway.
Michael Shannon, Rachel Dratch, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Paul Sparks, Annie Parisse, Carolyn Cantor and Leslye Headland are the latest to join the exceptional group of artists who will come together to write, direct and perform six original plays within 24 hours. The culminating performance will take place on Monday, October 30th at 8:00pm at the American Airlines Theatre.
Proceeds from the one-night-only performance benefit the Company’s program supporting theatre professionals 25 and under through The 24 Hour Plays: Nationals and The Lilly Awards Foundation’s work supporting women in theatre and promoting gender parity.

Additional cast and creative team members will be announced in the coming weeks.

Seven actors are about to embark on career adventures, having been named by Theatre Communications Group the 2013 recipients of William & Eva Fox Foundation Resident Actors Fellowships. The program awards cash grants to actors and places them with host theater companies from around the country, where the performers work to hone their crafts. This year the Fox Foundation, working with Tcg, awarded grants totaling $217,500. Five up-and-coming actors will receive Extraordinary Potential Fellowships, which will provide each with $15,000 in grant money and an additional $10,000 toward student-loan relief.
