As part of its fall lineup announcement Monday, Fox revealed some of the players who will appear on the second season of Accused.
Michael Chiklis — who was featured in Accused‘s first episode when it premiered in January of 2023 — will return for the second season of the drama developed by Howard Gordon. The show’s set to air at 8 p.m. on Tuesdays this fall on Fox.
Joining the former Vic Mackey on the new season is Felicity Huffman, William H. Macy and Nick Cannon. It’s not clear, for now, what roles the actors will play in the anthology, which features different stories of crime and punishment told from the defendant’s point of view.
In his episode from season 1, Chiklis played a frightened dad who had to confront the realities of his troubled son’s behavior. The star of The Shield went on to direct “Jack’s Story,...

Upon sweeping the four main drama acting categories at the 2021 Emmy Awards, “The Crown” stars Olivia Colman, Josh O’Connor, Gillian Anderson, and Tobias Menzies all joined a special roster of lead or supporting TV academy honorees who were not part of their shows’ original casts. As members of the expansive Netflix series’ second of three distinct ensembles, this quartet and their co-stars were replaced ahead of season five by a new group of actors, some of whom could be added to said exclusive winners club later this year.
According to Gold Derby’s odds, the performer from the sixth and final season of “The Crown” with the best shot at Emmy glory is supporting female frontrunner Elizabeth Debicki. She played the role of Princess Diana for two seasons, finishing the job started by younger season four cast member Emma Corrin. Don't let the bastards grind you down! If you don't like what they're saying, change the conversation.
If you've been along for the wild ride that has been Elisabeth Moss' prolific television career over the last two decades, then you probably recognize these quotes from two of her well-known shows.
If not, then you've come to the right place for a crash course in the "Queen of Peak TV." And while Vulture absolutely nailed it with that moniker, they left out the fact that she has a well-established film career.
Luckily, we haven't missed that important fact.
Seriously. The list of films and television shows that Elisabeth Moss has been in spans further than some of our readers' lifetimes.
Her agelessness is right up there with Paul Rudd and Halle Berry.
So, in celebrating the premiere of her new show The Veil on Hulu, here are ten of Elisabeth Moss's greatest hits.

Last year “Succession” broke the record for the most acting nominations in a single year at the Emmys with 14, and it tied that tally in its final season in 2023. Like last year there are three women from the show in the Best Drama Guest Actress category, one of whom is a perennial favorite and a previous winner for the HBO satirical drama: Cherry Jones for her role as Nan Pierce.

Jones began her career as a founding member of the American Repertory Theater in 1980 and has been inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame, having performed in distinguished plays such as “Stepping Out,” “Our Country’s Good,” “Angels in America,” “A Moon for the Misbegotten,” and “The Glass Menagerie” and winning Tony Awards for Best Actress for “The Heiress” and “Doubt.” On screen, she has had an active...

“The Bear” cooked up a storm for its freshman season at the Emmy Awards, gaining a total of 13 nominations across the board with bids in acting, writing, directing, editing, casting, sound and of course Best Comedy Series. Having debuted way early in the Emmy eligibility period, it has sustained its buzz throughout the year with various award wins at the Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild, Writers Guild of America and Producers Guild of America. Included as part of their showcase is Oliver Platt for Best Comedy Guest Actor for his performance as Jimmy “Cicero” Kalinowski, his fifth nomination overall. Can he finally win an Emmy?
This is Platt’s first Emmy bid in a comedy category, having previously been mentioned for three dramas: “The West Wing” in 2001 and “Nip/Tuck” in 2008 for Best Drama Guest Actor, and “Huff” from 2005-2006 for Best Drama Supporting Actor. Other credits he has had in...

Premiering last summer, “The Bear” has become the most-watched comedy series in FX history. Season 1 amassed a total of 13 Emmy nominations, making it the third most-nominated comedy this year behind “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” (14) and “Ted Lasso” (21). Included as part of their showcase is Jon Bernthal for Best Comedy Guest Actor for his performance as Michael “Mikey” Berzatto, his first Emmy bid after over 20 years working in the industry.
Like many actors, Bernthal’s first television appearance was in the “Law & Order” franchise on the spinoff “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” in 2002. After many appearances on a number of network dramas and sitcoms, he became known for his role as Shane Walsh in the first two seasons of “The Walking Dead,” and went on to work with such revered film directors as Martin Scorsese (“The Wolf of Wall Street”), Denis Villeneuve (“Sicario”) and Edgar Wright (“Baby Driver”). Exclusive: Chris McCumber is departing Blumhouse Television after three years as President. The unit’s President of Production, Jeremy Gold, will step into the top role on an interim basis. A search is underway for a new head of the TV group, which is getting downsized, with several people — believed to be fewer than 10 — being laid off today. With the streaming bubble bursting and entertainment companies retooling their vision for the future of television, it seems like every new day yields a polarizing series cancellation. From viewership stats to marketing pitfalls and budgetary concerns, TV series are seeing the plug pulled at a seemingly faster rate than ever before — in some cases, after production has been completed and even before they’ve had a chance to air.
For example, after outcry over recently canned series like “1899,” “First Kill” and “Warrior Nun,” Netflix’s new co-ceos Ted Sarandos and Greg Peters said they have never canceled a “successful show.” Platforms like AMC, Starz, Showtime and HBO Max have pulled shows despite having the majority of filming finished or nearly done so. And for Hulu, journalists and audiences raised disappointment following the cancellation of “Reboot.”

People say truth is stranger than fiction, but the story in "Cocaine Bear" the movie is definitely more interesting than the true story behind it. In real life, the bear dubbed Pablo Eskobear ate a bunch of coke that was dumped from a drug smuggling plane and died from an overdose. In the vision of bloody mayhem created by director Elizabeth Banks and writer Jimmy Warden, though, the bear in question went on a drug-fueled murder spree, mauling anyone who got in her way. Even Margo Martindale wasn't safe!
"Cocaine Bear" landed in the zeitgeist earlier this year, taking Twitter by storm before its release, thanks to its wild title and even wilder premise. The movie ultimately grossed over $87 million at the box office (per Box Office Mojo). An attention-catching genre mashup with a relatively lean budget and a good theatrical haul should be like studio exec catnip, so where's the "Cocaine Bear" sequel news?...

1990’s Days of Thunder was the end of an era for Tom Cruise. It would be the last movie he’d make as part of his “youth” phase, which began with Risky Business. At the time, he was best known as the cocky young hot shot, but when this movie underperformed at the box office, Cruise took some time off and returned as a more seasoned leading man, with 1992’s A Few Good Men kicking off an unprecedented streak of hits. While Days of Thunder has a valued place in Tom Cruise’s filmography and remains a popular title, when it came out, the movie was considered such a disappointment that the movie’s two producers, Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckkeimer’s deal with Paramount Pictures came to a fractious end. So what happened?
“Top Gun on Wheels” – that’s what everyone called Days of Thunder in the summer of 1990. The studio.

[Editor’s Note: The following review contains spoilers for “Justified: City Primeval” Episode 4, “Kokomo.”]
A common occurrence in “Justified” sees Raylan (Timothy Olyphant) sit down with someone most people would consider scary, but rather than beg off, back down, or express much emotion (beyond his trademark frustration mixed with mild curiosity), the U.S. Marshall is forced to reflect on the nature of his duties. Past bosses like Mags Bennett (Margo Martindale) and Ellstin Limehouse (Mykelti Williamson) are perhaps the best examples, given the credible moral dilemmas each local leader elicits from Raylan, but challenges of principle can come from just about anyone. Like, say, Toma (Terry Kinney), the Albanian mob boss who invites Raylan for a chat after the “accident” suffered by his nephew, Skender (Alexander Pobutsky).
With a pushy Norbert (Norbert Leo Butz) in tow, Raylan arrives at the meeting planning to convince Toma to let Skender tell the truth: that he didn’t fall down the...

Director Elizabeth Banks’ “character-driven thriller” Cocaine Bear (read our review Here, get a copy at This Link) wasn’t exactly a blockbuster – it earned $89 million at the worldwide box office on a budget in the range of 30 to 35 million – but it did get a lot of positive attention when it was released. And I thought it was a blast to watch. So I welcome a Cocaine Bear 2… and during an interview with Rolling Stone, Banks said she would also welcome it.

Seconds after Jamie Lee Curtis walks through the door at Wigmaker Associates in Beverly Hills on a pre-strike July morning, the recently minted Oscar winner comes face-to-face with an army of famous names. There are rows upon rows of them, monikers covering heads made of canvas blocks that atelier owner Rob Pickens and his staff use to custom-make wigs worn by Ana de Armas in Blonde, Millie Bobby Brown in Stranger Things and Amanda Seyfried in Mank.
“I see many of my friends,” declares Curtis as she scans the shelves, pausing to pay special attention to one in particular. “Hi, honey! Here’s my sweet,” she says, planting a kiss on the one named Christopher Guest, her filmmaker husband since 1984. Then Curtis spots another. “I just worked with [Margo Martindale] on a fabulous show called The Sticky. It’s weird when you’re my age, you know all these people.

Elizabeth Banks is open to making a Cocaine Bear sequel.
In a conversation with Rolling Stone, the director and actress shared that she had a great time working on the film, which follows a 500-pound black bear after it consumes a significant amount of cocaine and embarks on a drug-fueled rampage in a Georgia forest.
“I loved how subversive, crazy, silly and funny it was,” she said. “I loved surprising people with the cast. I don’t think anybody was expecting Margo Martindale, who’s 70 years old, to shoot that kid. Banks shared that she hoped that directing the film would show that she can helm big, fun, bloody genre pictures in addition to things like Pitch Perfect 2 and Charlie’s Angels. Her diverse directing interests resemble her acting career.

Few shows lend themselves to revivals naturally. “Justified,” the critically acclaimed FX drama starring Timothy Olyphant as Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens, might not seem like a prime candidate to return after the Emmy-winning series nailed its series finale in 2015. But the show is coming back on July 18 for a limited eight-episode run under the title “Justified: City Primeval.” From a logistical standpoint, bringing back TV’s coolest lawman makes sense: “Justified,” which featured mostly stand-alone, season-long arcs during its excellent six-season run, is perfectly suited to one-off limited series. It’s also a beloved show that balances comedy and drama well, has the respect of many in Hollywood and understands the unique narrative value of place in a way that many series do not.

Plot: Having left the hollers of Kentucky 15 years ago, Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) now lives in Miami, a walking anachronism balancing his life as a U.S. Marshal and part-time father of a 15-year-old girl. His hair is grayer, his hat is dirtier, and the road in front of him is suddenly a lot shorter than the road behind. A chance encounter on a desolate Florida highway sends him to Detroit. There he crosses paths with Clement Mansell (Boyd Holbrook), aka The Oklahoma Wildman, a violent, sociopathic desperado who’s already slipped through the fingers of Detroit’s finest once and aims to do so again.

If you’re behind on your peak TV watching, consider this your spoiler warning. It’s been nearly a year since Julia Garner collected her third and final Emmy for “Ozark,” which made her the seventh comedy or drama series regular to snag a TV academy prize for a season in which her character died. Nominations of this kind have become more common in recent years, and it’s possible that over 15% of the 2023 lead and supporting continuing series contenders will fit into the group.
Gold Derby’s Emmy nominations odds currently indicate that eight actors whose comedic or dramatic characters met their demise within the last year could feasibly earn bids, as all of them are ranked no lower than 12th place in their respective races. This does not include characters like Bunny Folger or John Paul Williams who died prior to the starts of their shows’ latest seasons but still appear in flashbacks.

To celebrate the release of the action-comedy spectacle of the year Cocaine Bear – out now on 4K Uhd & Blu-ray – we have a 4K Uhd up for grabs!
From Director Elizabeth Banks, comes the “Uproariously entertaining” (Flickering Myth) story inspired by the time an actual bear did cocaine. The comedy-laced, high-octane film phenomenon stars Keri Russell (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Margo Martindale (American Crime Story), and the late Ray Liotta (Goodfellas) in “a thrilling binge of adrenaline” (TheWrap).

Every so often, you come across a curious Emmys stat that just grabs your attention. This year, we noticed Emmy voters’ love for variety in one specific category — Best Drama Actor.
In this category, the last eight years have given us eight new, different winners for different shows. They are, in descending order: last year’s winner Lee Jung-jae (“Squid Game”), Josh O’Connor, Jeremy Strong, Billy Porter, Matthew Rhys, Sterling K. Brown, Rami Malek, and Jon Hamm. Bryan Cranston won in 2014 for “Breaking Bad” — he’d already won for the same show in 2008, 2009, and 2010.
So, there you have it. That’s a run of eight years where this Emmy has gone to a different performer and a different show. In that timeframe, there has been no overlap in terms of the same actor winning, nor has the same show won for different actors. Complete newness across the board for eight years.

"Mrs. Davis" is built on a wild premise that somehow manages to only get crazier as the show goes on. The series tells the story of a nun named Simone (Betty Gilpin) determined to destroy an all-powerful artificial intelligence - and along the way, she finds herself tasked with finding and destroying the Holy Grail itself. From the get-go, the show promises a fantastic and chaotic ride, but even the most imaginative viewer (or advanced AI) probably couldn't have dreamed up what actually happens in the show's eighth and final episode.
Over the course of the show, Simone has been trying to find the Holy Grail because Mrs. Davis, the artificial intelligence in question, told her to. In exchange for the Grail, Mrs. Davis promises to grant Simone one wish. Simone has a vendetta against Mrs. Davis because she believes the algorithm killed her father, a magician, so she becomes...

Over the years, dozens of actors have accomplished the feat of being Emmy-nominated in one guest category for multiple shows, but only one has been recognized in this manner for playing a single character. This special case involved Shelley Long, who received comedic notices for playing Diane Chambers on both “Cheers” (1993) and “Frasier” (1996). After more than a quarter century of standing alone in this distinction, she could soon be joined by Carrie Preston, who won the 2013 Best Drama Guest Actress award as eccentric lawyer Elsbeth Tascioni on “The Good Wife” and is now seeking a bookend trophy for its Paramount Plus spinoff, “The Good Fight.”

“Justified: City Primeval,” the long-awaited spinoff to FX’s Western drama, finally has a premiere date. Ahead of Fox’s upfront, the network announced that “City Primeval” would premiere on July 17. Additionally, FX announced the premiere dates for “What We Do in the Shadows” Season 5, “Reservation Dogs” Season 3 and “Archer” Season 14.
First premiering in 2010, “Justified” quickly became a critical darling. Throughout the series’ run, Walton Goggins’ portrayal of Boyd Crowder was nominated for eight Emmys, and both Margo Martindale and Jeremy Davies won Emmys for their performances. The series followed deputy U.S. Marshall Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant), a tough lawman who administered his own brand of justice throughout Appalachia.

“Mrs. Davis” will compete for Emmys love in the Limited Series category, but that doesn’t mean the show won’t see a second season.
A source close to the production told TheWrap that creators Damon Lindelof and Tara Hernandez always intended for Season 1 of the genre-bending series to have a “conclusive and satisfying ending” with the finale episode airing Thursday, May 18. The source added that while discussions on a potential second installment have not started, nothing is off the table.

“Mrs. Davis” may be one of the most surprising and unconventional new series of the spring — and now it’s making a surprising and unconventional move in the Emmy race as well. As the Television Academy deadline for category submissions ends today, Peacock has decided to make a last-minute shift and move the series into the limited/anthology series categories.
Betty Gilpin stars in “Mrs. Davis” as Simone, a sometimes nun who takes on her nemesis, the artificial intelligence being known only as “Mrs. Davis,” and strikes a deal with the algorithm — which promises to shut down if Simone finds and destroys the holy grail. This exploration of faith and technology comes from executive producers Tara Hernandez (“The Big Bang Theory”) and Damon Lindelof (“The Leftovers”).

Location scouting and filming on service productions were already cooling down in Canada over the past few weeks in anticipation of the WGA strike on May 1. And while those projects with completed scripts are trudging forward, one “substantial” unnamed series being shot in Toronto has already shut down, according to the city.
It’s just the start of what could be a big financial loss for the Ontario industry, where Ontario Creates reveals 419 productions in 2022 — including TV series like “The Boys” and films like “Women Talking” — contributed a record-breaking $3.15 billion to the economy.
In B.C., where many service productions have wrapped for the season and writers’ rooms would typically begin assembling over the next few weeks, people are preparing for unforeseen delays. A prolonged strike will inevitably not only affect those who have been steadily employed for years, but also the provincial economy, which drew $3.6 billion from the film industry last year,...

Nine years after he won his fourth and final acting Emmy for playing Walter White on “Breaking Bad,” Bryan Cranston has a solid shot at triumphing in the corresponding Best Drama Guest Actor category for reprising the role on the prequel series “Better Call Saul” on AMC. In fact, he has three chances to win at least his fifth acting Emmy this year since he could also earn notices for Best Movie/Limited Actor for Paramount Plus’ “Jerry and Marge Go Large” and for Best Drama Actor for Showtime’s “Your Honor.” If all three nominations come to fruition, he will be only the fourth person and second man to ever compete for three acting Emmys at once.

Keri Russell is back. The Emmy-nominated star of “The Americans” returns to TV with the new Netflix series “The Diplomat” from showrunner Debora Cahn. In the eight-episode political drama, which is streaming now, Russell stars as Kate Wyler, a competent and confident woman in her first ambassadorship who, unbeknownst to her, is being considered for the position of vice president.
Although Kate expects to be sent to Afghanistan at the start of the limited series, she quickly finds herself named the U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom after an attack on the Royal Navy. Once she touches down across the pond, Kate must prove she can navigate high-stakes crises and forge strategic alliances while secretly dealing with a failing marriage to another career diplomat (Rufus Sewell). With comparisons to shows like longtime Emmy favorite “The Good Wife,” “The Diplomat” is the awards contender to watch this weekend.

Here’s a not-so-fun fact that will ruin your day: “Better Call Saul” has never won an Emmy. The critically lauded spin-off of “Breaking Bad” has been nominated 46 times through five and a half seasons and never once walked away a winner. With its final six episodes eligible this year, the AMC series co-created by Peter Gould and Vince Gilligan has one last chance to alter this aspect of its otherwise unblemished legacy. History tells us it’s a long shot at best — voters have proven time and again they simply don’t care about the show, which tells the tragic story of how Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) became slippery lawyer Saul Goodman — but “Better Call Saul” also has a secret weapon it never had before: former Best Drama Actor Emmy winner Bryan Cranston.

‘The Watcher’: Naomi Watts and Bobby Cannavale discussed the nature of fear at special NYC screening
“It was early in Covid. And it was a time when many people I think were very afraid of what we didn’t know about. And certainly I was one of those people,” said actor Bobby Cannavale during a Q&a for Netflix’s “The Watcher” at the Crosby Street Hotel in New York City on April 19. “That’s really a jumping off point for us to really explore what it feels like to be powerless in a situation that we generally feel pretty good about having under control: our family dynamic, the safety of our family, those kinds of things. And so that’s what really hooked me.”
Created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan based on actual events, “The Watcher” tells the story of a family that moves to the suburbs only to be terrorized by letters from an anonymous stalker. Co-star Naomi Watts knows a thing or...

This article contains spoilers for Mrs. Davis episodes 1-4.
We tried to warn you. We really did. Several times in the lead up to the premiere of Mrs. Davis, we tried to communicate that the Peacock sci-fi series was truly bonkers. But no one can fully be prepared for the experience of watching a nun combating an all-powerful artificial intelligence with a storytelling tone that star Betty Gilpin describes as “No Country for Old Looney Tunes.”
So now here we are. You’ve clicked on this headline wondering if you really understood that massive twist in Mrs. Davis‘s second episode. Let us assure you that yes, you absolutely did. The character known as Jay (Andy McQueen) is none other than The King of Kings, The Holy One of Israel, The Lion and The Lamb, The Only Begotten Son, The Messiah. Literally Jesus Christ of Nazareth is a character on this television program.

This post contains spoilers for the first three episodes of "Mrs. Davis."
There's something so enticing about the world of "Mrs. Davis," the new Peacock series that follows a snarky and adventurous nun named Simone in her attempt to cap a world-controlling AI platform at its metaphorical knees. There's almost a surrealist element to the sci-fi nature of the series, and its entanglement with religion — Christianity in particular — serves to elevate that tone, even questioning the reality of the show as a whole.
In fact, Simone's dedication to God is a key factor in the show's major reveal, which comes at the end of episode 2. In case you need a refresher, Simone tells Wiley (Jake McDorman) — her childhood best friend-turned-cowboy with whom she has become entangled again on her quest — that the first time she prayed was when he got on the bull for the first time. She asked Jesus...

Created by Damon Lindelof and Tara Hernandez, the Peacock series Mrs. Davis is set in a world where an all-knowing artificial intelligence has essentially created world peace. All they have to do is track down the mythical Holy Grail.

Review: It takes a lot to catch me off guard. I have seen countless movies and television series over the years that have been billed as shocking or revolutionary, game-changing, and even unlike anything that has ever been seen before. Few of these have actually delivered on the hyperbole used to market them, but every now and then, I am truly surprised by the originality that is still possible. With the distinctive creative talents of Tara Hernandez and Damon Lindelof behind the scenes, Mrs. Davis echoes the satirical brilliance of Terry Gilliam’s Brazil with a modern technological flair for a hilarious, action-packed story and thought-provoking series about faith,...
