- Robin Klein was born on February 28, 1936 in Kempsey, New South Wales, Australia. He is a writer, known for People Might Hear You, Say a Little Prayer (1993) and Hating Alison Ashley (2005).
- Science fiction author Robin Klein is one of nine children. She had her first short story published at the age of sixteen, and won her only school prize for writing. In 1981 she was awarded a Literature Board grant for writing and since then she has had more than forty books published. Many have been short-listed for the Australian Children's Book of the Year Award. Her ear for dialogue, gift for social observation and mastery of story-telling make her one of Australia's most versatile and best-loved writers. Klein was awarded the Dromkeen Medal for her significant contribution to the appreciation and development of children's literature in Australia.
