Jennifer Garner is opening up about her “emotional” audition for Felicity, which led to her crying in the bathroom afterward.
The 13 Going on 30 star, who made a guest appearance as Hannah Bibb, the ex-girlfriend of Noel Crane (Scott Foley), in the J.J. Abrams and Matt Reeves-created series, recently locked back at her audition for what “must have been the breakup scene.”
“I remember the audition. I remember going into the bathroom after because the scene was so emotional and I needed to cry,” she said on The Ringer’s Dear Felicity podcast. “I needed to hide in the bathroom stall and finish the cry that I started in the audition because it was such a powerful scene.”
Garner claimed Abrams made her come back later to re-audition for the role, to which podcast host and former Felicity star Greg Grunberg quipped, “That makes sense to me, because you’re not very good.

Exclusive: A Florida-based filmmaker who has garnered a massive following on social media for calling out crooks, conmen and racists could become the inspiration behind a new TV project, if actor-producer Greg Grunberg has his way.
Michael McWhorter, better known to his more than 6 million followers on TikTok as TizzyEnt, made a name for himself in 2021 by exposing a woman who was selling fake Covid vaccine cards during the pandemic. Since then, his daily posts seeking justice for victims of verbal and physical harassment, as well as straight-up criminal acts, have become catnip to his myriad followers, including Grunberg.
McWhorter has become so ubiquitous in his quest as a social crusader that people frequently tag him in video posts whenever a person is victimized. Even if he stopped actively looking for cases of wrongdoing, McWhorter says he has enough tips in his inbox to keep his social media feeds packed with content for months.

It has been 25 years since Keri Russell graced the small screen in the iconic role of Felicity Porter.
Felicity, the J.J. Abrams and Matt Reeves-produced college drama, was a critical darling of The WB, becoming a phenomenon well before "the big chop" controversy and often topping the list of young adult classics to this very day.
The series amassed 84 episodes over four seasons, and it was nominated for 38 awards, including a Golden Globe Best Actress nod for Keri Russell.
The series remains impactful, even two and a half decades later. And it's primarily due to the allure of the cast, many of whom are still going strong in their careers all these years later.
So, where is the cast of Felicity now? Check it out!

It takes a specific formula and something unique to nail the coming-of-age, young adult series, something that presently, even the best there is to offer falls short.
When it comes to capturing the college-aged genre, Felicity is the blueprint.
It's been 25 years since Felicity premiered on the now-defunct network The WB, and the magic of the series and the subsequent impact of it still holds up today.
Felicity's indelible legacy marked the acclaimed J.J. Abrams' first foray into television, opening the door for other massive hits such as Alias and Lost.
The series also made breakout stars out of Keri Russell, Scott Speedman, Scott Foley, and Greg Grunberg, who have been successful household names since.
In honor of the 25th anniversary, a rewatch of the pilot was warranted, and it's incredible how much it transports one back to pre-9/11 to perfectly capture the profound introspection, whimsy, and cringe of just entering adulthood.

Wolkoff: “Day 146. It gives me great pleasure to say we will Not be picketing Dancing With The Stars tomorrow! I really can’t wait to watch the premiere on Tuesday, because we did it!

Horror anthology Satanic Hispanics assembles five Latin American horror filmmakers to celebrate Hispanic talent in front of and behind the camera, curating tales that spotlight Hispanic myths and legends. Uniting four tales of terror is Satanic Hispanics‘ wraparound from producer/director Mike Mendez.
In Mendez’s wraparound, a police raid uncovers a grisly crime scene full of dead bodies. They take the sole survivor, a man that refers to himself as “The Traveler” (Efren Ramirez), into custody for answers. The Traveler attempts to explain the bizarre events that led up to his capture to skeptical detectives Gibbons (Sonya Eddy) and Arden (Greg Grunberg). He entertains them with four tales of supernatural encounters, hoping to persuade them to let him go.

It's been a weird old time for JJ Abrams of late. Despite still being one of the most powerful creatives and producers working in the industry, he's seen his projects take a hit — a giant deal with Warner Bros. Discovery has seen slow development and several cancellations (including a Justice League Dark series), and Paramount has seen little forward movement on the Star Trek movie front – but it appears that the former relationship is finally paying off again as he as set up new series Duster at HBO Max starring Lost veteran Josh Holloway alongside Rachel Hilson.
Co-created with Latoya Morgan, Duster is set in 1972 in the Southwest and follows the first Black female FBI agent (Hilson) as she recruits a gutsy getaway driver (Holloway) in a bold effort to take down a growing crime syndicate. For those like me who pay way too much attention to these sorts of things, you may remember the news that filmmaker J.J. Abrams had signed an immensely profitable deal with Warner Bros. Discovery. This enabled him to write, produce, and direct various projects on both the big screen and small, with the freedom to sell certain projects to other distributors as well as producing original stories for Warner Bros. and HBO Max. Discerning readers may also recall that, in the years since, absolutely nothing has actually come from that high-profile agreement -- not for lack of trying, mind you. There was that double-whammy announcement of a "Justice League Dark" project and a spin-off of "The Shining" called "Overlook" that had nerds everywhere all hyped up. Unfortunately, those ultimately never came to fruition for various reasons, along with an incredibly expensive sci-fi series called "Demimonde."

HBO Max, J.J. Abrams, and Latoya Morgan plan to introduce audiences to Duster, a period drama set in the Southwest starring Josh Holloway and Rachel Hilson. Duster is a concept Abrams and Morgan have been kicking around since April 2020, when it nearly got the green light from then HBO Max Chief Content Officer Kevin Reilly. Together, the duo aims to take down a crime syndicate taking root in the area. J.J. Abrams and HBO Max are officially putting a series into gear.
The streamer has picked up Duster, a 1970s-set drama from Abrams and Latoya Morgan (Into the Badlands, The Walking Dead). Rachel Hilson (Love, Victor, This Is Us) and Josh Holloway, who worked with Abrams on Lost, head the cast.
Duster is the first series to spring from a nine-figure film and TV deal Abrams’ Bad Robot company signed with WarnerMedia (now Warner Bros. Discovery) in 2019. In April 2020, Duster was one of three Bad Robot projects announced for the yet-to-launch HBO Max, along with The Shining offshoot Overlook and a Justice League Dark project. The latter two have since been scrapped (Bad Robot has shopped Overlook to other possible buyers), as has Abrams’ long-developing sci-fi series Demimonde (which was for the HBO parent channel) after concerns over its projected 200 million-plus budget.

This article contains The Fabelmans spoilers.
Do you want to meet the greatest film director who ever lived? That would be a loaded question in any context, but it has extra weight in Steven Spielberg’s new release, The Fabelmans. With the film being a semi-autobiographical portrait of the legendary filmmaker’s own adolescent years, the picture feels in many ways like a rare window into meeting the real Spielberg—or at least the Spielberg as imagined in the director’s own head.
While the film has a thin layer of artistic license, anyone can see it’s a rumination by an auteur of a certain age in his early halcyon days. And for many audience members, Spielberg is the greatest film director who ever lived. Jaws, E.T. Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Jurassic Park—to name but a few—are considered...

Satanic Hispanics celebrates Hispanic heritage with a horror anthology that assembles five horror filmmakers from various corners of Latin America. Each applies their cultural background and style, producing an eclectic mix of tales that take wide swings from bone-chilling to delightfully funny. That variation provides a strange yet captivating journey.
A police raid uncovers a grisly crime scene full of dead bodies.
Director Mike Mendez (Big Ass Spider!, The Convent) helms the Traveler-centric wraparound. Ramirez serves as the perfect storyteller to connect each segment; his Traveler feels lived in and difficult to surprise,...

Future horror anthology producers and filmmakers can learn from the smooth-as-silk collection "Satanic Hispanics." Most importantly? Don't undervalue your wraparound that binds segments together like storytelling glue. Anthologies are, by definition, multiple shorts assembled to feature length via chapters, but what separates a "Deathcember" that's too oddly randomized from something like "Satanic Hispanics" is wraparound consistency. Everyone involved harmoniously feeds off the prompt's cultural emphasis instead of ping-ponging viewers around some production company's amalgamation of dusty shorts with the intent to cash in on anthology redistribution. "Satanic Hispanics" isn't just another assortment of kill sequences with an overall thematic impact — it's a model to follow and a path toward horror anthology success.
What proceeds is an ode to horrific Hispanic heritage from indie horror directors who allow their traditions, nightmares, and ancestors to haunt universal audiences. You've seen their works from "Juan of the Dead" to "Culture Shock," "Big Ass...
