Georgi Stefanov Genkov is a Bulgarian composer and author of film music. He was born in t Sofia, Bulgaria on March 3, 1929. In 1951, he graduated National Music Academy as a composer. Since 1951 to 1961, he was the conductor of the orchestra of the "National Youth Theatre." The first film, for which he composed music is " Poor Street ". Between 1982 and 1996 he was the conductor of the orchestra in the Theater " Tears and Laughter ". He was one of the most prominent artists in the field of music for theater and cinema. He is an author of music for 45 puppet and 47 theater productions, 52 feature films, 120 cartoons and 26 short films, 18 television plays, 15 pop songs and more. In recent years he has selected, arranged and recorded a CD about 250 children's songs. Many times he has won theater and cinema's awards. He died on December 25, 2010 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
