Ladies and gentlemen, it appears Aaron Rodgers, who’s taken a grand total of four snaps as quarterback of the New York Jets, has lost his mind.
This week, during his weekly appearance on ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show (or if a WWE wrestler on bath salts hosted a sports program), he sorta accused Jimmy Kimmel of associating with Jeffrey Epstein — exacting revenge against Kimmel for ragging on Rodgers and his public Covid vaccine skepticism in his late-night monologues. This latest outburst follows a string of recent kooky behavior,...

Do not expect much scoring here, unless both teams suddenly find the missing pieces to the puzzle of their offenses. The Pittsburgh Steelers haven’t scored more than 30 points in any contest, and each of their wins is by a touchdown or less. The Green Bay Packers look very similar, except a few more hard-luck losses. This has the makings of a classic NFL battle of defenses, with the victor being whichever offense manages to squeak out a few more positive plays.

Sometimes all it takes to become sports royalty is to be born into a family with a strong athlete. That’s pretty much the case for Brittany Favre. She’s known widely as the daughter of legendary former NFL quarterback Brett Favre. However, she’s not just covered by the shadow of her father’s success. Favre is a successful sports and entertainment lawyer in her own right. In addition to being a wife and mother of three, she also manages to fit in time for her practice. She’s had her fair share of ups and downs, but it’s clear that Favre is winning.

John Oliver is having fun with Fox News and its lawsuit with Dominion Voting, again.
The Last Week Tonight host once again started his HBO show with a segment on the Rupert Murdoch-owned network, while also exploring the horniness of Tennessee Lt. Gov. Randy McNally and a long segment on Temporary Assistance For Needy Families (Tanf).
“I’d like to start with Fox News,” Oliver said. “The network that answers the question ‘What was on TV when grandpa died?’”
Murdoch this week admitted that he was worried about the tone of its coverage of the 2022 election.
“Laura Ingram delivers every monologue with the energy of a concussed PTA parent,” he added. “Sean Hannity – spews bullshit while looking like one big neck.”
Elsewhere, he metaphorically traveled to Tennessee – the first state to pass law to restrict drag performances on public property or anywhere a child could see them.

Brett Favre is attempting to shut down a bombshell civil lawsuit that was filed against himself and his businesses for allegedly misappropriating over 1 million in Mississippi welfare funds. This suit is part of several other attempts by the Mississippi Department of Human Resources to recover over 20 million in welfare funds that were “squandered” by companies and individuals who promised to use them properly to benefit families in poverty.
The crux of the issue with Favre was apparently that while this money was meant for Mississippi families, the money instead went to paying for several public appearances from Favre that never even happened. Favre was born in Mississippi
His lawyers have claimed that Favre is being unfairly targeted in this suit as a famous athlete. “Mr. Favre never had any control over how Mississippi spent its welfare funds. He never made any misrepresentations to anyone,” his attorney Eric Herschmann claimed.

On “The Late Show” Thursday, Stephen Colbert spent some time mocking the weirdness of modern-day Republican ads. If you’ve watched any, you know: The extreme gun fetishization; the violence both implied and direct; the baked-in hostility; weird music.
And then he showed what it would be like if one of the Republican Party’s most celebrated political ads ever — made for the most-celebrated Republican ever — had been made in 2022 instead of 1984.
For his monologue, Colbert focused on an ad produced by right wing congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, whose new reelection commercial features some pretty weird stuff. It starts with her cocking a shotgun against a gloomy background — with lightning erupting from the shotgun. All set to some very generic hard rock music.
“Man. ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ looks awful,” Colbert quipped.
Then he played more of the ad. Greene mentions a bunch of problems she falsely blames on Democrats,...

Brett Favre was unexpectedly named in a scandal regarding the defrauding of 70 million meant for the poorest residents of Mississippi on federal assistance programs.
This scandal is being thrown into even harsher relief right now because the city of Jackson is suffering from a lack of clean water.
Favre’s involvement was revealed when John Davis, the former Mississippi Department of Human Services Director, pleaded guilty to defrauding his state on Thursday. As part of his plea deal, there is a chance that Davis will be spilling more details on how Favre participated in the future.
What we know now is that Favre allegedly received around 8 million in these funds for different initiatives he requested. The retired football player was reportedly payed 1.1 million for speaking engagements that never occurred, and requested and received 5 million in a donation to the University of Southern Mississippi for a new volleyball court, his alma...

ESPN shocked the basketball world late Wednesday night when its Senior NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka was likely to face a lengthy suspension for having an intimate relationship with another team employee. The Athletic similarly confirmed that the affair was completely consensual, but because it involved a subordinate, it was a violation of the Celtics’ organizational policies and could likely result in a season-long suspension.
The story, which broke during the middle of the week when there is often a lull in the football news that’s the cabler’s greatest source of interest this time of year, dominated ESPN’s Thursday morning news coverage.
Still, many felt like the coverage of Udoka’s personal life has been excessive, especially considering the other, arguably larger stories of ethical lapses currently being discussed in the sports world. Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre...

You have to admire Peter Farrelly. After winning two Academy Awards for 2018’s Green Book, he didn’t just stick with Oscar-baiting prestige movies. His next two movies go back to his comedy roots, with his latest nearing deals with both Zac Efron and John Cena. Unfortunately, it’s not Kingpin 2. But it does have a better title: Ricky Stanicky.
In an interview with Deadline, Peter Farrelly noted that the planned movie, titled Ricky Stanicky, will be a comedy with heart. The R-rated Ricky Stanicky, he said, “I think is just a hilarious movie and it’s a great message, not just a bunch of hard-r laughs.” He further likened it to There’s Something About Mary, saying that smash comedy “was ultimately about true love.” Hmph, we thought it was ultimately about how the spelling of Brett Favre’s name makes no sense…

John Madden died Tuesday at 85. The passing of the exuberant, Hall of Fame former Oakland Raiders coach who retired that post after a decade and then became a broadcast-booth legend, a popular pitchman and later the wildly successful Madden NFL video game franchise, was announced by the National Football League, which said he died unexpectedly Tuesday morning. If you were a football watcher when Madden worked a game, you might agree there will never be another like him.
“Nobody loved football more than Coach,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said Tuesday. “He was football. He was an incredible sounding board to me and so many others. There will never be another John Madden, and we will be forever indebted to him for all he did to make football and the NFL what it is today.”

President Donald Trump is still in New Jersey at his Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster. Joining him for a brisk round this morning was former NFL quarterback and Pro Football Hall of Famer Brett Favre, who spent 20 years in the league with the Falcons, Packers, Jets and Vikings.
There were no reports on what they discussed, but Trump noted that Favre “hits it Long!” and loves “Wisconsin, Mississippi, and Minnesota. Apparently there’s no love for his time spent in New York.
Before the golf, the Commander-in-Tweet fired off a series of tweets attacking Joe Biden for calling Arizona a city, railing against the “Fake Suppression Polls” and “Fake News,” and condemning “Crazy Nancy Pelosi” for dancing in Chinatown. He also posted a video from longtime supporter Jon Voight.

Brett Favre will return the $1.1 million in Mississippi state welfare money he received for speaking engagements he never participated in, the state auditor announced Wednesday. According to the Associated Press, via NBC News, Auditor Shad White said Favre had already refunded $500,000 and agreed to repay the remaining $600,000 in installments over the next few months. In a spending audit released Monday, the Mississippi Department of Human Services was shown to have spent millions of dollars in federal welfare grant funds that didn't actually benefit the state's impoverished communities. Between 2017 and 2018, the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families [Tanf] program paid...

It's been two years since Cameron Diaz dramatically confirmed her retirement, but like Brett Favre, this beauty is not entirely opposed to getting back in the game. In a recent interview with her former makeup artist Gucci Westman, the Charlie's Angels star confessed she's "never going to say never," when it comes to her potential return to the big screen, eliciting hope from the fans she's amassed over the years. But, that statement should also be taken with a major grain of salt since the actress also declared: "I'm not a person who says never about anything." Still, many are holding out hope that Cameron will once again act, whether it...

Leave it to Betty White to keep conquering new fields of play.
The 97-year-old actress, who has over the decades held forth on everything from “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” to a popular Snickers commercial, has found her next role.
She is one of the main attractions in NBC’s next push to bring broader audiences to its soon-to-launch season of “Sunday Night Football.” A promo featuring White has the actress talking about a looming September 5 match-up (a Thursday) between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears, telling viewers: “There’s only one thing more badass than this year’s kickoff – and you’re looking at her.” The promo is slated to air tonight during a live telecast of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.”
White may not resonate with football die-hards in a way that Aaron Rodgers or Pat Mahomes might, but that isn’t her mandate from NBC.
