He had four children: Thomas Chaucer, born 1369, Speaker of the House
of Commons, who married Maud de Burghersh; Lewis Chaucer, who died
young and to whom his father dedicated "Treatise on the Astrolabe";
Elizabeth, who entered a convent; and Agnes Chaucer, lady-in-waiting at
the coronation of her cousin-by-marriage, King Henry IV.
