Small town drama from writers Andrew Chapman and John Eisendrath (Alias), Sony Pictures TV and Maria Grasso and Deb Spera’s studio-based One-Two Punch Prods. has sold to ABC. Meanwhile Immortals writers Charley and Vlas Parlapanides have set up a high-concept drama at CBS, with ABC Studios, Bob Sertner and Chris Morgan producing. ABC’s Dakota is set in the tiny farm town of Williston, North Dakota that is undergoing an oil boom. It is centered around the respected Holmburg family, one of the last to sell their mineral rights, and the many newcomers who inhabit their hometown in search of the American dream. Chapman and Eisendrath will write the script and will executive produce with Grasso and Spera. The four previously worked together on the ABC/ABC Studios drama pilot A House Divided, which Chapman wrote and was later developed as a feature. He recently sold his debut novel Ascendant to Simon & Schuster.
