- Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons (1990-1993).
- Minister of State for Youth and Amateur Sport (1984-1986). Member of the Canadian Privy Council in (1984-present).
- Was appointed to the Canadian Senate on August 2, 2005. She will sit as a member of the Conservative Party caucus.
- Was elected as Member of Parliament for the Quebec riding of Saint-Hyacinthe-Bagot in 1984 as a Progressive Conservative candidate. She was re-elected in 1988, but defeated in her bid for a third term in 1993.
- Founder of Duo casting, she was the mother of Patrick Clune and Liliane Clune and the sister-in-law of Robert Savoie.
