- Carmen Cartellieri was born on June 28, 1891 in Prossnitz, Moravia, Austria-Hungary [now Prostejov, Czech Republic]. She was an actress, known for The Hands of Orlac (1924), Parema - Das Wesen aus der Sternenwelt (1922) and Kettös álarc alatt (1918). She died on October 17, 1953 in Vienna, Austria.
- She went to Austria in 1920 and founded the Cartellierifilm Gmbh company where she produced her first feature move "Die Würghand" (1920).
- At the age of 16 she got married with the painter and director Emanuel Ziffer Edler von Teschenbruck.
- She became acquainted with the director Cornelius Hintner who engaged her for her first movie called "Das Zigeunermächen". She acted in this movie with the pseudonym Carmen Teschen.
- She became one of the most popular actresses in Austria in the twenties.
