Along with Erick Avari, he is one of only two actors to appear in
both Stargate (1994) and its spin-off series Stargate SG-1 (1997). He played Skaara, the brother-in-law of Daniel Jackson, in both productions as well as the Goa'uld Klorel in the latter.
He is an ordained minister.
His ancestry is Puerto Rican.
He attended the New York High School for Performing Arts (the school depicted in [link-tt0080716] and Fame (1982)) followed by Boston University, where he majored in Independent Technical Theatre (both directing and producing).
