R.I.P. Jean-Louis Trintignant
Jean-Louis Trintignant passed away on June 17, 2022. He will sorely be missed by cinephiles all around the world and of all generations.
Jean-Louis Trintignant rose to stardom alongside Brigitte Bardot in Roger Vadim's And God Created Woman (1956), becoming an icon to the French New Wave. His career didn't stop there, he would go on to play for virtually all the great european directors of his era from Claude Lelouch'S A Man and a Woman (1966) to Bernardo Bertolucci's The Conformist (1970), without forgetting his Cannes performance in Costa-Gavras' Z (1966). In recent years, to the skeptics, he confirmed that he was still one of the greatest French actors playing the judge in Kieslowski's Three Colors: Red (1994), Georges in Michael Haneke's Golden Palm winning Amour (2012) and another Georges in Happy End (2017).
